Bruuutal. I'm 50 and back in my younger days in the 80s and 90s, women knew their place in the looks hierarchy. Overweight women automatically knew that she didn't qualify for guys over a 5. Getting your looksmatch back then was very common because it was expected. Women like this weren't chasing chads/tyrones. Even the overweight women with pretty faces.

My neighborhood is that typical from the soviet era. In this area the vast majority of the people are boomers. You can also see young people, but they rarely spend their time here, in my area. Even in the park (the biggest one) it's somehow difficult to see young people (I'm talking about my cohort, that is between 20 and 30), but it's a little bit easy to see a small rise during the weekend, but not a big deal. The reality is that, if you (me in this case) want to have/develop a social life you should spend your leisure time in the centre of this abject city. I hate it so much. Life here are far away from being one of a high quality. It's incredible to see young people wasting their time in that dirty place (one of the worst from Europe, that's for sure).
Also, it's quite interesting to see a correlation between appearance (and status) and the living standards of a neighbourhood. In my area (it's not the poorest) it's difficult to see high quality women, because their lifes are so different that it's almost impossible to live similar lifes.
Also, one other aspect that any guy should talk about is undoubtedly the demographic pill.

Yes, I have not done everything to improve, but who says I’m not improving. My life has improved drastically over the past 5 months. I improved my mental health, mostly overcame my crippling social anxiety, started going to the gym, tried talking to a few girls, made a friend at the gym, got a really decent paying job for the summer. I improved my health, my work habits, started getting better grades and so on.
But 95% of that is largely irrelevant for women. When most women themselves are lazy, addicted to social media, mental health issues, never work out, boring, ignorant, being this self-improved saint actually distances you from most women. The only self improvement that is relevant to getting a woman is looksmaxxing, socialcirclemaxxing, gamemaxxing (if you want to make a lifestyle out of begging low interest women to give you their time for a night) and moneymaxxing (if you’re ok with being in a relationship to a glorified escort). Seamaxxing and JBWmaxxing also exist, but I don’t think you can consider those ”self improvement”.
