- Today I am continuing my research for song made for Polish movies. Either created or used to promote Polish movies. So get your pop-corn and st around. Today, I will listen to an extremely well-known song from Beata Kozidrak for a movie "Rzeka Marzeń", also, a wonderful duett (Edyta Górniak and Mietek Szcześniak) singing "Dumka na dwa serca". Finally, I will take a look at a song made for the film "Wiedźmin" (The Witcher) called Nie pokonasz miłości. Hope you enjoy.

Izabella Scorupco is actually both a singer and actress - she's biggest in Sweden, where she was raised (now lives in L.A.), and she had one big hit in Sweden with "Shame, shame, shame" (a cover) : czcams.com/video/CkjKgh-G6vg/video.html
Sienkiewicz is really one of the best writers in the world, but you need to read him in the original Polish. His "Trylogia" takes up half a shelf on its own (they were originally published as a series in journals, just like Dumas and his Musketeers), but his short stories are his most brilliant work. Start with "Nikt nie jest prorokiem między swymi", my favorite - so sad, so funny.
No film of his novels will ever feel right if you read the novels first... they can't measure up.
'W pustyni i w puszczy' zekranizowano dwukrotnie i ta pierwsza adaptacja z 1973 jest o niebo lepsza. oprawa muzyczna również dobra, bo za kompozycje odpowiadał nie kto inny ale Andrzej Korzyński i... surprise surprise '2 plus 1'
Wow, niespodzianka! Więc 2 plus 1 również komponowali dla filmów, albo przynajmniej ich piosenki pojawiały się w filmach. Super!
1. Izabella Scorupco (Izabella Skorupko) is probably best known as Natalia from GoldenEye (feat. Pierce Brosnan).
2. "Ogniem i mieczem" is one of the film I can watch again and again. Despite Zbigniew Zamachowski's awful acting the role of Colonel Wołodyjowski.
3. I haven't read any of Sapkowski's novel but "Wiedźmin" (Polish tv series) has really good soundtrack and music effects. I even liked the story and had a good time watching it. But I'm fond of watching bad films so don't take it as an advice :D
Thank you, Zuru! I will definitely watch Ogniem i mieczem when I have the opportunity, it was the one I was more curious about.
And I like bad films too, so who knows? Maybe I will be loving it!

I wouldn't recommend polish film "Wiedźmin" ("The Hexer") since it's basically a shortened version of the TV series. Hence problems with the plot.
You could, however, give polish TV series a try. I think I've seen it somewhere on CZcams. TV series is better since plot generally is better because of less dark spots. Problem is special effects in Poland at the time were in general poorly handled. So be prepared for that.
But I still prefer polish TV series about Geralt over the one from Netflix. And that is saying something with Henry Cavill starring in the american one.
I haven't actually watch the film, but i like the soundtrack: 1) "o sobie samym" by wilki (Robert Gawliński ) 2) "miłość od pierwszego wejrzenia" by manaam (kora)
Robert Gawliński is from Wilki? I didn't know! I try not to find out too much so that I discover everything while filming, that's surprising. 😋
Watch all the movies listed, because the ratings do not match the quality of the movie. "With Fire and Sword" is a brilliant film. Be sure to watch this one. I was surprised that the movie "In Desert and Wilderness" has such a low rating. This is a fantastic story. As you noticed, there is an African theme, because the action takes place in Africa. This is a story for children and teenagers. The book is required reading in primary schools. On the other hand, I liked the movie "The Witcher" personally. I even watched it a few times.

The Netflix adaptation isn't good either you should read or listen to the books.
Definitely read " W pustyni i w puszczy" this is a very quick read.
Maybe I could give a try and read it in Polish, but it depends of the level of Polish that it's written. Some books are okay for me to read, but some others (Cyberiada by Lem) are impossible because of the high level of language.

The game adaptation is far better than any cinematic one. Will see how 2nd season of Netflix adaptation will do.

@@AlmostDon Well the witchers after the proper initiation and training embark on their own adventure (Imagine a journey across the world) in order to take missions, hunt monsters etc.: They call it a path :)

Izabela Scorupco is best known as the so-called "Bond girls" from the movie "Goldeneye" where Pierce Brosnan played the role of J. Bond for the first time. And H. Sienkiewicz was a very famous author, awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for the novel "Quo Vadis". And as for "The Witcher", well, the song is performed by Robert Gawliński, a very well-known singer of the rock band "Wilki", and when it comes to the adaptation of "The Witcher", neither the Polish version and the Netflix version is not very good. Only the games can be recommended, but they tell the story that happens after the end of the book saga, not the literary prototype itself.

To bardzo trudne pytanie czy obejrzeć polski serial wiedźmina...
Historia nie trzyma się kupy bo opowiada wyrwane z kontekstu epizody opowiedziane w krzywym zwierciadle
Poza tym bardzo dużo hejtu spadło za absurdalnie denne "efekty specjalne" smoka w jednym odcinku czcams.com/video/gvMi8l5k_Sc/video.html
Muszę powiedzieć, że mimo wszytko bawiłem się dobrze oglądając serial:
1. Gra w nim śmietanka polskiej kinematografii, świetne role poboczne
2. Dużo lepiej oddaje ducha wiedźmina niż amerykańska wersja
3. Dobra muzyka
Gorąco zachęcam jednak do obejrzenia polskiego pełnometrażowego filmu wiedźmina stworzonego przez fanów czcams.com/video/5GLtk2cLRu4/video.html - od razu mówię że ma zerowy budżet i większość osób pracowała nad nim za darmo, a "efekty specjalne" biją na głowę serial ;)
PS tak wiem że piszę bardzo trudnymi zwrotami po polsku - sory :P
Byłem zdumiony sceną ze smokiem! Hahahaha, ale Tak, to prawda, że piszesz dość potoczną polszczyzną, ale mi to odpowiada. 😎😛
FIlm. Dla mnie może być ciekawy, nawet zabawny, jeśli potrafię cieszyć się historią, nawet jeśli śmieję się z efektów specjalnych. Widziałem, że rozumiem po polsku na filmiku, muszę znaleźć wersję z polskimi napisami.

There is game witcher, and the game was big. This movie is not that. Netflix production first season was god. And there are of corse books, highly recomended read if you like fantasy.
Witcher sereis wasnt bad just american style CGI and $ that's all , And fck it I will fight any1 Mr.Zabrowski who played in this tv show the original WItcher is better then Henry Cavil even tho I like Henry Cavil , just try to find that tv show version with english subtitles or some scenes and look at his manurisms etc and u will see wat I mean
