Junior 6’1 215 lbs
Liberty QB Malik Willis is the most electrifying QB in college football since Lamar Jackson. The 2021 NFL Draft had great QBs in Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Justin Fields & Mac Jones, but none of these QBs were as exciting as Willis. He has a strong arm like Patrick Mahomes & Josh Allen while also just as quick & shifty as Lamar Jackson. There’s a lot of hype for Willis right now & next season will be huge to see if it was worthy. He has a legitimate chance to end up as QB1 on Draft Day.

After transferring from Auburn, Malik Willis has found a home at Liberty. He had an incredible 2020 season that really opened up some eyes. He threw for 20 TDs with 14 more scored on the ground. He’s a legit dual-threat QB. He has a chance to be Liberty’s first QB drafted in the 1st round.

If my math is right he had 96 carries for 818 yards an 10 TD's, 7 catches for 107 yards, 7 kickoff returns for 228 yards.. that's 1,153 total yards on 110 plays 😳

I'm a liberty fan and i didnt know about him until when i started staying up late to watch LU play last year, like in week 4. Its normal, most people dont know him

Making my Flames proud. Malik is really special. I watched every game Liberty played last season and what really sets him apart in my eyes is his decision making. Not that he had a perfect season last year but he is able to make something out of nothing when a play breaks down. Not to mention he has the athleticism to cover a wide range of situations. If Malik can improve on taking care of the ball this year I could easily see him going in the first round. Any team would be lucky to have him.

He’s giving off Deshaun Watson Vibes and similar Lamar Jackson running ability, just not as quick and fast as LJ
This dude is electric throwing and running. I’d like to see more anticipatory throws. Most of these highlights showcased his strengths: Throws on the run, rushing, and deep ball passes. All 3 damn near elite

Yea he looks good and he should test well at the combine I worry about these non power conference guys though he will not get the same looks or leniency in the NFL he would need time to adjust put him behind Big Ben in Pitt and he will be their future.
Hopefully he goes to Detroit over Houston. At least Detroit finally has a culture and happy players. Plus he’ll have a really good OL to protect him
I’m a Washington fan and so far out of all the qb options for the 2022 draft i like him the most he fits the system with his passing ability and his ability to run and Ik Scott turner would love him and he seems to fit off the field as well with the culture

The problem is with giving up 3 first rounders, they wouldn’t be able to put a supporting cast around him. Nobody is worth 3 first rounders, especially a kid who couldn’t get in the field at Auburn.

His control over that howitzer is extremely impressive, and when he takes off he's like a running back with speed, power, balance, and elite agility.
I've said this before, but Willis and Ridder are the two QBs i want Pittsburgh to go after most. Hopefully the media won't hype him up out of our range because for some reason, we don't want to spend the draft capital to jump far ahead in the first. We missed chances at Mahomes, Lance, and Fields because of both of these reasons.
Those are the two I want as well. About time the Steelers had someone who could run. It’s a different game & the Steelers need to adjust. Brady is the only QB who has been able to survive without being able to run a little.

I found out about him, last year. His cousin, whom I went to school with back in 94', posted about him on Fb. Didn't get a chance to see him play, as I don't watch Liberty football. I like his game. I'll be keeping my 👀 on him, this season.

He's faster than Deshaun and at least college wise has a better deep ball in my opinion (accuracy) but doesnt exactly have the arm strength to always make those tight throws that Watson has
What's crazy is someone who worked with Deshaun and other QB's like Trey Lance said he has the strongest arm he has worked with.
@@splashbroth3rz maybe, but at least on the field he definitely doesnt have the "zip" as scouts like to say, that Watson and Lance have, especially Lance... he has the best arm in the entire 2021 draft class imo. Willis can definitely make those throws, but you can tell the ball can get behind the receiver a bit.

Although the athleticism and running ability is nice, I'm not big on that because QBs who run a lot also tend to get hurt a lot. HOWEVER...this kid's accuracy is VERY impressive. The ball placement on those deep balls were absolutely on point giving his receivers the chance to catch everything in stride. I read today that the Colts have sent top scouts to two straight Liberty games. Sounds like Malik is definitely on the NFL radar.
