    Well well well. For the first time as a citizen of Tamilnadu, I am getting the confidence of living in a state where the government has such a visionary and a competent finance minister. It gives me lot of hopes thinking of years ahead. Very well thought out policies and processes to see the golden years which I never thought I would be able to see in my life time before I listened to this interview. My best wishes to Mr. Palanivel Thiagarajan.

All best wishes and support to PTR to fix the Revenue leakage in EB, Private involvement in transport, DBT even for transportation. Todays technology has to be used as an enabler. @Poompattinaththaan Yes you are right.. But the main problem we r facing in TN is corruption irrespective of any ruling party.. It keeps on growing and i cant see any substantial progress in prevention of this though some measures are taken. Especially the Gov should fully control the Political interference in Selection process of gov officials by getting bribe and appointment of unqualified candidates. That's the root of the corruption.

  • @cthroughny8690
    @cthroughny8690 Před 2 lety +19

    PTR is absolutely right! There is no one from TN (probably in India) to give an interview like this. As far as I know, he is the only one interviewed by various organizations where interview was conducted in English which has universal application, whether we like it or not.
    Many things he talked about but, particularly one of things is the Govt. running enterprises where the grave flaws are: overstaff, lack of training, lack of dedication, lack of equipment, lack of efficiency, lack of competency and so on and on and on.
    I am no match to PTR in any way but, one of things as an example is to lease out bus routes to private companies. Simply put, efficiency is well achieved through hiring and firing which Govt. does not do.
    Gradually eliminate "Freebees". There are so many things do be done and we need to be patient and do what we need to do. I am sure PTR would make an honest effort to fix things. It may take some time to see the results. Then again, "Rome was not built in One Day".

      Don't preach that government can not do things properly. Yes to clamp down the mis-management our tamil nadu government should put down SOP's.

    Completely agree with him reg career counseling. When I joined engineering 20 years ago, I had no idea what engineering even was and didn’t know how to look it up or who to ask about what it is I’ll be studying. I just did it because all my friends were doing it so went with the flow. In hindsight, I would have done something like B.Sc physics aiming to specialize in astrophysics or gotten a degree in music so I could become a music producer: both things that I’m just trying to teach myself or learn myself in my passtime because they are my passion. I wish I had a way to have learned this about myself 20 years ago.

    Dear Minister, out of all conversations I think one flaw is State transport corporations are overstaffed. My father has retired in 2017 as a technician, he use to do performance analysis of 40 buses over night, which used to be 10-15 in his earlier years. Rather than privatising or going to ppp model, i would suggest to look at the administrative problems. People who are a close ally to a political party does desk job, on duty and transfers based on favourism. Stop these. After 33 years of service , day and night they receive a meagre social security benefit. Many of them haven't received their PF benefits for 2+years after retirement. There is a political interference in choosing the timings of buses, private buses run only on peak hours. You need to see it from ground level. There are many villagers who depend only this govt transport. If Paris agreement INDC's are in your prospect, I think it's right time for the government to invest in public infra particularly road. Operating costs can be cutdown using other efficient ways than simply privatising it.

I had personally wrote to governments and government organization to get their response and I did get their attention. So please write to them. It is a wonderful interview with the TN finance minister. As he mentioned in the interview about the Dravidian Model of administration it is going to be the best model for not only to the state but also to the entire globe . For this to happen as he said the education, health and the taxing system must be in the hands of the state 100%. Then only we can see a phenominal growth in the per capita income of the individual that is only the actual the sign of growth of a society at macro level . Also the state needs to create a confidence in the hearts and minds of the investors so that they can invest their money without any fear and that in turn will create more job opportunities to the educated unemployed people. Finally it is possible to achieve the 1 trillion dollar economy in reality if the Dravidian Model is implemented in to to as proposed by the C.M of TN govt. Thanks to the interview organisers.

    Tax rates are high in Denmark (55.56%), Finland (51.25%), Iceland (46.22%), Norway (47.2%) and Sweden (57%) as it is their main source to render better services to their citizens.
    (i) Surcharge on Property Tax on total value of properties exceeding certain limit (Rs.100 Crores) may be considered.
    (ii) Road Tax on high/end vehicles shall be increased as they can afford and also use roads more.
    (iii) Audit of Cooperative Banks & Supermarkets, Electricity Board and Religious Endowments etc. shall be done by Professional (C.A) Auditors.The non- commerce graduates are not conversant with accounting principles in Local Fund Audit & Cooperative Audit wings.
    (iv) Some of the AG Audit Officers also have the mindset of Mr. Vinod Rai (CAG) who exaggerated 2G and apologized later on.(For example they did not know what is German ‘silver’ & Wood ‘screw’ and reported loss of Revenue to penalize assessing officer).
    Unless AG comes forward to do concurrent Audit of GST self-assessments (as in Banks and PWD), there will be undue delay in rectification of Audit defects and non-realization of GST later on.

    Hi Respected Finance Minister,
    We are expecting some job creation and infrastructure development in south Tamilnadu.
    Also most of the jobs are available in Capital (Chennai), this should be distributed through all over the state cities.

    That is called the international standard that he would like to implement in Tamil Nadu and I hope this model will be successful and accepted in all other states…valid point that all the public services sector should be run by private as they will bring good ideas and technology and the government is just manage them effectively and efficiently which could save millions…good luck sir

      Sir , you are diverting yourself from the main point . you mention by privatizing it is possible! I wonder , still you are not understanding what it means, privatizing!? For everything money is the fundamental basic thing ! Even a private player where from he gets money?! Secondly where from he gets technology for which where from he gets money !? Again you need money ! Where from money comes? When you put money borrowed , max , you deviate from framed regulations & get corrupted the controlling mechanism & you siphon money under the unethical auditors ,then politicians etc. What The FM mentioned & what you want are totally different!? See what the BJP Givt. Is doing is by selling Govt. Properties, in all forms, to get fund to give private players to do business!! What a philosophy! For a business all requirements ,basically ,is given by Govt. ! Still a business man wants at every stage concession & concession!! This thinking has ruined India & still it is going on !you listen once again the interview & try to understand better!

      When you become owner of your institution with all your own methods & rules , where comes Government roll ! You only rule Govt.!That is what happening under BJP rule NOW!!

    • @rajamanickamselvaraj4661
      @rajamanickamselvaraj4661 Před 2 lety

      Just manage them effectively & efficiently!? Is there any company in India is being run like you say , by Govt? You only buy technology abroad by taking bank money!? What for then Government ;? Government is not required ! You do everything fully privately as you wish!
