Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉
Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?

Thanks for checking out Dreamcatcher! I saw some others have already giving you information on their Korean tracks and storylines, so I'll just give some general group info. Sorry in advance for the info dump.
- Group Info -
Dreamcatcher always incorporate rock and metal instrumentals in their title tracks to varying degrees. Their b-sides though are extremely diverse, covering dozens of genres and sub-genres, including Jazz, EDM, Pop, Rock, Metal, Funk, R&B, Ballads, Reggae, Trap, Trance, and much more. They're also genre benders so you'll see them mixing a bunch of different genres together like you did in Boca, where they combined Moombahton and Rock. They just celebrated their 7th anniversary in January, but they went ahead and resigned their contracts back in 2022, a full year early, so we've got several more years of DC music to come.
Before they were Dreamcatcher though, 5 of the members were a different group called Minx. Minx was bubbly and cute and was a typical sounding girl group from 2014. After their first comeback, that wasn't successful, the company decided to disband the group. However, they realized that the issues that Minx faced were mostly management missteps and dealing with a saturated market, so instead of cancelling the girls contacts they decided to re-debut them with a new concept and sound. They hired new staff, brought in new managers and producers, and just a few months after Minx's disbandment, Dreamcatcher was born.
My initial bias was Sua, but I quickly became OT7. They're all extremely chaotic and are really genuine people. Due to the hardships they've faced they're very appreciative of their fans and the bond they have with InSomnia (fandom name which means In Dreams) truly feels special.
- Guides -
The best guide out right now that's up to date is "An Extensive Guide to Dreamcatcher 2023" by Dreamer. This covers a small snippet of each title track, around 10 seconds, and has a section dedicated to each member, and the group as a whole.
If you want the full history about their time as Minx, their early years as Dreamcatcher, and the hardships they faced, then "Dodging Disbandment and Other Extreme Sports: A History of Dreamcatcher" is a fantastic video.
And if you just want personality videos, then the YT channel Insomnicsy is your destination. Insomnicsy is constantly putting out compilations and short guides for the girls. A quick guide is "Why you should stan Dreamcatcher" and it just covers the positive aspects of supporting them. Insomnicsy also has the "This is ______" series which are short member focused videos. There are 4 seasons, 2020 - 2023, and each season has one 7-minute video per member.
I'd recommend starting with the extensive guide as it will give the broadest overview and then dig deeper if you want.
