    I deeply appreciate your 81 bead malas. I also love to wear my precious malas all day (and at night depending on the crystals), and the size is perfect for my short 5'2 frame. I don't have to worry about it getting entangled and/or messed up while doing activities. Thank you so much for offering them to us! Your crystal beads are also some of the most beautiful I've seen! They have the most loving and nurturing energy out of all my malas. I also enjoy your malas combined with wood. You have so many amazing designs. I feel fortunate to have found you. May you blessed with love and abundance. 🙏💖

    i have a bodhi mala blessed by a monk in chiang mai, thailand. it arrived with a broken cord that was replaced with a hemp strand. i won’t be soaking it in water, and might use some almond oil to moisturize it.

    I really enjoyed this video and loved the idea of wood at the neck so it stays in place. Do you find knots between each bead prevents hair from catching?

    • @Malaology
      @Malaology  Před 2 lety +3

      Thank you, friend! Yes, absolutely. Knots prevent pinching skin and pulling hair, but I prefer knots because they symbolize an entanglement, a holding of the intention for a mala. Also, they make mala mantra so much easier for most, make a strand stronger against breaking, and protect the gemstones from rubbing. Plus, and this is a big one, they make the strand flexible and allow you to freely wrap your mala around your wrist without the need for elastic cord. Mala Peace!

      @@Malaology All the more reason to tie the knots between the beads! (with a chant for each knot ohmmmm). Thanks for your reply and insight. I loved perusing your online etsy store. Your chakra mala with 81 different colored stone types (108 beads total +1) is SO gorgeous, artistic and thoughtful, just a work of art of the highest degree.

    the rudraksha seven chakra mala is awesome!
    i soaked it in ghee for 24 hours and then in whole milk for another 24 hours. the dies came off the gemstones, but i was sure they were genuine.

    it makes sense to not use silk to string a mala.
    there are monks who tend to use plain and simple malas. silk wouldn’t be strong enough for a string of gemstones.

    So do you have your own book about making malas or do you recommend a certain book? Thank you

      I am working on a book - have been for a little while. It's on hold for a bit. But I'll definitely post when it has been published!! I do not have any books to recommend. This is a topic that is underserved in the book market :)

    Hi Teresa,
    Greetings
    Is it okay to use a 54 bead mala for my Lotus Seed mala because it is way too big for me to use it daily and bringing it anywhere is so awkward and we know that we cannot let the mala touch the ground as a practice?

    • @Malaology
      @Malaology  Před rokem +1

      Blessings, friend, and welcome! The numerology of your mala is highly personal, and yes, you can choose a mala with any number of beads. If you practice mala mantra, 54 is a great choice, as you can just do two rotations for the 108. As for touching the ground - this means touching Mother Earth. All seeds and gemstones (and all humans) originate from Mother Earth. She transmutes energy in you and your beads. We can use her to cleanse our malas and balance our chakras. Religions, and specifically the patriarchy, have tried to vilify her by saying she is dirty, lol. She is not. She knows what to clear from your beads, and placing your mala on the earth is a powerful way to renew them periodically. Mala Peace! Love and Light 🙏
