Many thanks for this video. I have had a problem keeping Heuchera in my shade garden. You identified the reason - too much water. The soil has a high volume of clay. The shade garden can get flooded from rain. They have been drowning. I planted three small Heuchera today in the garden. Tomorrow I will move them to a container with better drainage. Th ank you Till , I was just repotting my Heucheras , about 6 , and left them in a bucket of water for a couple of days!! after hearing you mention the No to water , I rushed out and drained them I do hope they wont die on me.
I'm sure your heucheras will be fine :) I just wouldn't have them in too much soggy soil for too long.

I just bought 6 on sale at the end of the season. Plan to plant in ground in spring. What is the best way to store in pots over this winter? Outdoor? In garage? Something else? Thanks.
Heucheras are usually winter hardy, but it really depends on how cold it gets in your climate. If you have them in pots, you can store them in a protected area so they are not exposed to too much harsh wind. Maybe you can also place them close to a wall, where they get some warmth from the house. I prefer not to store them in a garage, so they receive some sunlight.
Where are you? I live in Arkansas is it too hot here?
I‘m based in Germany. It’s probably cooler and less humid here than in Arkansas. Heucheras probably would need more protection in your area.
