I'm an introvert and I'm always quiet and anxious. The only time I ever feel confident is when I'm speaking and I know what I'm saying or what I'm doing. I discovered this when I was doing drama in front of my whole school at that moment everyone was shocked because they didn't know I had such an explosive, energetic personality on stage.

OMG me too, i was also on my school's drama team, they said i was over energetic but that just bcs i know what im doing and what im talking 😂
I’m introverted as well and have not so good social skills and social anxiety I want to become a Debater & Public speaker but I’d have a breakdown and embarrass myself and start tearing up I can’t even find my personality I’ve been struggling like this since elementary up to now and I’m in my 2nd term of freshman year in high school (14 years old)
And I don’t have any friends I struggle trying to socialize or find anything in common with them which makes me appear weird? I have done some plays in 6th grade didn’t feel confident in those glad that you seem to be turning out fine unlike me

I'm an introvert, but strangely-enough, I love public speaking.
Probably because I grew up a nerd, and everything I said, always went over the heads of my family members, so now I get a kick out of people who are both interested in what I talk about, and understand it.

As a fellow introvert who also loves speaking and debating, introversion has nothing to do with public speaking.
Introversion and extroversion has to do with the way people gain energy. As an introvert, I prefer to spend significant amounts of time alone, by myself, since that is the way I gained energy. It's "recharging" myself after a day of spending time with others, which drains my energy. Extroverts, on the other hand, gain energy by being around others. They have nothing to do with speaking ability. I know introverts and extroverts who are brilliant speakers, and introverts and extroverts who are rather poor ones. How you recharge after a tiring day has nothing to do with your power of speech, after all

I relate so much lol I love the thrill of being on stage and sharing my knowledge to others, it makes me shiver but I smile like a total maniac lmao-

I’m in a debate and argumentation class in school and that shit is preeettyyyy intimidating 😅 but this video is actually crazy uplifting! I got more out of this than almost anything my professor said in the last class leading up to the first debate. Thank you!!

Understand that not everyone will like you, your presentation, or your point of view. And be OK with that, but also be willing to change your point of view, for a logical, factual argument.

This teacher shouldn't be reading out things, but talking ...that makes it more personal. He doesn't seem to know the basics of public speaking.
I presume his goal is not to come across as personal. His goal is to provide you with quality tips.
Quality tips or no, he's making himself look uneducated and should've put half a minute into remembering his points. Not that hard.
