GET Varsity vs West Salem 6 22 24

Game 2 has us playing the premier team in the area and I told the boys that all they needed to do this game was compete. I didn't want to measure this game's success in points. If we are ever going to beat these guys we need to start showing we can have the mental toughness to compete in all phases of the game. That mindset isn't easy for a lot of our players as they are simply too nice and don't want to fight you as hard as I would like to see them fight you for every inch of the court. Again, that mindset isn't natural for everyone. But I do see it's coming with a lot of these guys. So, back to this game. We competed and hung around and made it a good game all the way to the end. West Salem flashed their championship DNA in the last 3 minutes and pulled away. We were without a couple of our best players but they were without more. They are deeper and we are still looking up but for our growth this off season, it was a good game.
