I got SUPER LUCKY at Lou Whitaker Day at Comerica Park in Detroit!

- Or WAS it luck? I bought tickets in two different sections to increase my chances of catching a baseball. WHY?? Because Detroit Tigers legend Lou Whitaker finally had his uniform number retired, and there were commemorative balls with special logos.
There was also a huge pre-game ceremony with other Tigers superstars including Hall of Famers Jack Morris and Alan Trammell. Of course Miguel Cabrera was there too (and in the starting lineup!), and the Tigers ended up crushing All-Star Game starter Shane McClanahan and the Tampa Bay Rays. In fact, the score was so lopsided at the end of the game that 3rd baseman Yu Chang pitched an inning. (It did not go well for him, but it was fun to watch.)
The most bizarre event of the day took place before I even entered the stadium: I got a baseball out on the street! So maybe I was indeed lucky after all.

Yup! I remember first being confused over potential booing with Mookie Wilson back in the day on the Mets. Fans at Shea Stadium were chanting "MOOOOOO!!!" :D

Was 13 years old in Seattle in the early 90s and my dad and I waited outside by the Tiger's bus to get some autographs or something and was pretty disappointed that I wasn't able to get anything and felt a bit bumbed. Magic happened after that as we were walking back to the car and who happens to be walking by themselves out to their car with nobody around...Sweet Lou. It was probably the coolest thing I ever had happen with baseball and always cherished him taking the time to sign something and chat with us for a few. He is an amazing guy and am so happy for him.

Nice to see you get another commemorative ball and I remember Lou Whitaker well- I saw him in my first game in Cleveland as his Tigers were playing Cleveland in 1987- and I have never hated the Tigers- even have a Tigers pennant on my wall too- He deserves to have his number retired by the Tigers with the numbers he put up whilst in Detroit. Really enjoy your videos and seeing your travels to the different ballparks this year! You and Fenway Chris seem to be having a blast this year!

You were soon bum rushed by a pack of 6-8 teenage boys wanting selfies... and then you were cool enough to snap a pic with me, a mid-40s guy who appreciates your quests. "Welcome back to Detroit" I said to you, and you were kind to snap a pic. Please come back to the Motor City anytime!

I am a lifetime tigers fan, although haven’t been going to many games since 2016. The last 4 games I’ve been to, I’ve ran into Zack. A random mariners game last year he did a watch with Zack for someone, both of Miggys milestones, and then sweet Lou. I also saw him in KC in 2016 when I traveled to see the tigers. I guess I’m a Zack magnet 🧲😮

I caught a foul ball this game. Top of the 5th when David Peralta was batting. In perfect shape with no scuff marks on the ball. First ball ever in my life.

Zack the head guy at my concessions job with the Somerset Patriots was asking me about you last night. He’s in his 50’s and he watches your videos and knew about me being such a big fan from seeing me in some of the vids. I had no idea until last night. He also said you should come to Somerset some time and maybe even do a Zack Hample day at some point like the R-Phils did.
How cool! I am definitely open to that, but I don't think it'll happen this season.

@@zackhample Wasn't as good as last year imo. Doesn't help that neither team is doing very much this year. But just search Harry Caray hologram and watch it. He's singing take me out to the ball game. The camera only cuts to him for a few seconds total. But it's creepy. Partially because of how realistic it looks from certain angles.
