@@deus_vult8111 There's a difference between the Sabbath Day and the Sabbath Days. Colossians 2:16-17 refers only to the annual, ceremonial sabbaths that were “a shadow of things to come” and not to the seventh-day Sabbath. There were seven yearly holy days, or festivals, in ancient Israel that were also called sabbaths (see Leviticus 23). These were in addition to, or “besides the Sabbaths of the Lord” (Leviticus 23:38), or seventh-day Sabbath. Their main significance was in foreshadowing, or pointing to, the cross and ended at the cross. God’s seventh-day Sabbath was made before Adam’s sin, and therefore could foreshadow nothing about deliverance from sin. That’s why Colossians 2 differentiates and specifically mentions the sabbaths that were “a shadow.”

      Hi Donald,
1863 "man made" Protestant denomination false teaching a true "Harlot Sabbath Keeper". And, as all "man made" there has to be a perversion of Sacred Scripture and history.
Let’s start with Hosea 2:11. In CONTEXT of "END ALL....HER SABBATHS" plural not your perversion.
Lamentations 2:6 "the LORD HAS BROUGHT TO END in Zion appointed feast AND SABBATH"
Lamentations 2:9 "THE LAW IS NO MORE, AND HER PROPHETS OBTAIN NO VISION FROM THE LORD".
Luke 16:16 "THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS WERE UNTIL JOHN, THEN" what???
Ephesians 2:14 "BY ABOLISHING IN HIS FLESH THE LAW OF COMMANDMENTS"
Colossians 2:14 "HAVING CANCELED THE BOND THAT STOOD AGAINST US WITH ITS LEGAL DEMANDS".
SDA interpretation of "legal demands" against us is "ceremonial laws" nowhere listed in the Bible just like "Bible Alone"??? How absolutely absurd. Follow all 613 commandments of GOD, then??? Galatians 5:3-4.
Romans 7:6 "BUT NOW WE ARE DISCHARGED FROM THE LAW.....SO, WE NO LONGER SERVE UNDER THE OLD WRITTEN CODE BUT IN THE NEW LIFE OF THE SPIRIT".
Romans 7:7-11. What clearly is the "LAW OF SIN AND DEATH"???
Romans 8:2 "FOR THE LAW OF SPIRIT OF LIFE (John 13:34, 15:12, 15:17) IN CHRIST JESUS HAS SET ME FREE FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH"
Now, Romans 10:4 "FOR CHRIST IS THE END OF THE LAW". Remember, there is no separation of the 613 commandments of GOD of the old covenant laws:
      www.jewfaq.org/10.htm
Hebrews 8:13 "IN SPEAKING OF THE NEW COVENANT HE TREATS THE FIRST AS OBSOLETE".
Galatians 4:4-7. For Jesus Christ was "BORN UNDER THE LAW to redeem THOSE WHO WERE UNDER THE LAW" and so that we may receive "adoption" as sons and daughters of GOD.
(Remember, Hebrews 10:26-29 what happens to that "sacrifice" that formerly "FREED US FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH" if we "deliberately sin". Welcome to what "fulfilled" means and you will need the "power" Jesus Christ the ONE MEDIATOR gave to His ONE and ONLY established Church to be reconciled with God again per John 20:21-23.)

The verse that theologians quote to support the premise of a sundown to sundown Sabbath is Leviticus 23:32. The problem with that proposition is, when put in its true context, it becomes apparent that these verses are speaking specifically of the Day of Atonement. Furthermore Day of Atonement, has never been observed on July 10th, which would be the tenth day of the seventh month on a Gregorian calendar. Consequently, one has to ask, what calendar is being used for this holy convocation? The answer is obvious, a lunar solar calendar.
      Leviticus 23:27-32
Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God.
For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

Shadowcruise99 What About a Lunar Sabbath?
      Author:
      Ángel Manuel Rodríguez
I’ve been told that the biblical Sabbath was a lunar Sabbath fixed by the moon, rather than a specific day of the week independent of the moon or the sun. What do you think?
Any biblical evidence to support this proposal is lacking. Therefore, I feel uncomfortable honoring the issue by addressing it here. But apparently I should say something about it. If the time for the Sabbath was determined by the moon, then the Sabbath will have to be observed at different days during the month and not on the seventh day of the week. The Sabbath could be any day of the week, based on the time of the new moon. Let me say a few things about this matter.
      1. The Israelite Calendar: The Israelite calendar was lunisolar, that is to say time was measured on the basis of the new moon (the rotation of the moon around the earth) and also the sun (the rotation of the earth around the sun). A lunar calendar of 12 months is about 11 days shorter than the solar calendar, which is approximately 365 days. In the ancient world this was solved by adding an extra month seven times in 19 years. In the Bible the moon calendar was used to fix the time for the festivals-for instance, 14 days after the new moon came Passover (Num. 28:16). Apparently some people are arguing that the Sabbath itself was to be observed seven days after the first day of the month.
      2. The Sabbath and the Moon: At the beginning of the twentieth century the connection between the Sabbath and the moon was proposed and defended by a number of critical scholars. They rejected the biblical origin of the Sabbath and suggested that its origin was related to several “evil days” in the Babylonian calendar, including the day of the full moon, during which people rested. Those days occurred in a sequence of about seven days. Further study indicated that the so-called “evil days” were not a sequence of seven days; they were the first, seventh, fourteenth, nineteenth, twenty-first, and twenty-eighth days of the month. That theory has since been abandoned.
      3. Genesis 1 and the Sabbath: The origin of the biblical Sabbath is definitely connected with the creation week. It was instituted by God three days after the creation of the moon (Gen. 1:14; 2:2), not the seventh day after the first day of the month. It was to function independent of the month on a specific sequence of days unconnected from the moon and the sun, but uniquely grounded in God’s power to rule over time. The seventhness of the Sabbath is related to the passing of time, from the beginning of God’s creating activity on Planet Earth to its close. This is indeed a unique divine act, a fragmentation of time in a sequence of seven days exclusively fixed and governed by God Himself.
      4. Sabbath and Festivals: A lunar Sabbath would imply that the Sabbath is part of the Israelite festivals, but that is not the case. The seventh-day Sabbath was instituted long before the festivals were given to the Israelites. The Hebrew term translated “feasts, festivals,” is môcadîm, and it means “fixed/appointed time, meetings.” It refers to different activities that were not necessarily dated by the lunar calendar (e.g., Jer. 8:17; Hosea 2:9). Even if one were to argue that the term applies to the Sabbath, it does not follow that the time for the Sabbath was fixed by the moon (cf. Lev. 23:2). Besides, the Bible makes clear that the Sabbath is to be differentiated from the festivals (Lev. 23:37, 38).
Finally, the Sabbath rest was different from the rest required during the ceremonial Sabbaths. Leviticus 23:3 states that during the Sabbath the Israelites were “not to do any work.” But during the time of the sacred assembly the people were commanded to “do no regular work” (23:8, 21, 25, 35, 36, NIV). This indicates that there was a type of work they were allowed to do during the festivals that was forbidden during the Sabbath.
Although the intentions of those promoting the lunar Sabbath may be good, they have to be aware of the fact that they are unintentionally introducing and promoting a sabbath rest that is different from the biblical seventh-day Sabbath rest.

Here it is in Ecclesiastes 1:5 The sun rises, and the sun sets, and hurries back to the place where it arose.
That's His order of His Day's.

*SATANS COUNTERFEIT SABBATH - A BRIEF HISTORY*
Very soon after the death of Christ heresies began to creep into the early church. Although the vast majority of Christians still observed the Sabbath throughout the first century, gradually as the decades and centuries rolled on more and more Christians began to observe the 1st day of the week.
Many people keen to promote Sunday worship as the true day of worship often quote the so-called early church fathers who spoke of the 1st day of the week as the official day of worship.
But the problem with this is that many of these so called church fathers were anti Semitic against the Jewish people, indeed they made no attempt to hide their anti Semitism and spoke of it in their own writings.
*Justin Martyr - Dialogue with Trypho (Between 138A.D. and 161 A.D.)*
The custom of circumcising the flesh, handed down from Abraham, was given to you as a distinguishing mark, to set you off from other nations and from us Christians.
*The purpose of this was that you and only you might suffer the afflictions that are now justly yours* that only your land be desolated, and you cities ruined by fire, that the fruits of you land be eaten by strangers before your very eyes; that not one of you be permitted to enter your city of Jerusalem.
*Tertullian - 160AD - 220 AD - early Christian author from the Roman province of Carthage.*
Who argued that divine judgment is upon Israel, and Jews are destined to suffer eternally for the crucifixion.
    *John Chrysostom, 344-407 A.D.*
preached: "The Jews ... are worse than wild beasts ... lower than the vilest animals.
*John Chrysostom (344-407 A.D.) - One of the "greatest" of church fathers; known as "The Golden Mouthed." A missionary preacher famous for his sermons and addresses.*
The synagogue is worse than a brothel…it is the den of scoundrels and the repair of wild beasts…the temple of demons devoted to idolatrous cults…the refuge of brigands and dabauchees, and the cavern of devils. It is a criminal assembly of Jews…a place of meeting for the assassins of Christ… a house worse than a drinking shop…a den of thieves, a house of ill fame, a dwelling of iniquity, the refuge of devils, a gulf and a abyss of perdition."…"I would say the same things about their souls… As for me, I hate the synagogue…*I hate the Jews for the same reason.*
From "The Roots of Christian Anti-Semitism" by Malcolm Hay
This anti-Semitism grew throughout the 2nd and 3rd centuries, It became unpopular to keep the Sabbath and so a more popular Roman version of rest day was introduced - Sunday.
The Saturday Lords Day was replaced by the counterfeit Sunday Lords Day and was accepted as such without question or enquiry.
By the beginning of the 3rd century the heresy of Sunday worship was almost universal until the Emperor Constantine made it illegal to worship on the Sabbath.
    The renound Encyclopedia Britannica p 654 Volume XXIII tells us;
"The earliest official recognition of the observance of Sunday is an Edict of Constantine in 321 AD, enacting that all courts of justice , inhabitants of towns and workshops were to be rest on Sundays."
*Socrates, a 5th-century Christian church historian wrote that:*
"For although almost all churches throughout the world celebrated the sacred mysteries (the Lord's Supper) *on the Sabbath* of every week, yet the Christians of Allexandria and at Rome, on account of some ancient tradition, refuse to do this."
"That is, upon the Saturday. It should be observed, that Sunday is NEVER called "the Sabbath' by the ancient Fathers and historians."
    Socrates, "Ecclestical History," Book 5, chap. 22, p. 289.
One wonders - what "tradition" could Socrates be referring to ?
SUN worship perhaps? Or the fervereant rise in anti Semitism within the Roman pre-Christian and post Christian world.
*THE CATHOLIC CHURCH ADMITS THEY HAD NO SCRIPTURAL AUTHORITY TO CHANGE THE HOLY SABBATH TO A SUNDAY*
*"Sunday is *our mark* of authority...The mark the church is above the bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact."*
    Catholic Record Sept 1, 1923
    and again,
*"The authority of the church could therfore not be bound to the authority of the Scriptures because the church had changed the sabbath into Sunday, not by the command of Christ, but by its own authority. "*
    A Doctrinal Catechism , p 263
Does this Catholic article say Jesus or the Apostles changed it - no ! , it says the Catholic Church did it by their own authority.
    and again,
*"Perhaps the boldest thing, the most revolutionary change the church ever did happened in the first century. The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed from Saturday to Sunday... not from any directions noted from Scriptures *but from the church's sense of its own power.*
*People who think that the scriptures should be the sole authority , should logically become 7th Day Adventists, and keep Saturday holy."*
Saint Catherine Catholic Church Sentinel May 21st, 1995
    *CONCLUSION*
Gods law is eternal - we can not pick and choose what laws to obey and what laws to disobey based on personal convince or the tradition of men.
You will not find one verse in the bible telling us to stop keeping the Sabbath. Only assumptions and a misreading of the texts and quotes from anti-Semitic church fathers that were looking for any way to distance themselves from the Jews.

The Catholic Church is the only TRUE Church founded by Christ. It is the ONLY true Church that can trace it's origin right through history back to Apostolic and Biblical times. And if you knew how to properly read and understand Sacred Scripture.and the evolution of salvation history, the fulfilment of OT promises and the enactment and significance of the New Covenant, then I am telling you, you would be coming back to Holy Mother Church, the Catholic Church, but on your knees. Your founder is a mentally sich person who plagiarized all her 'revelation'. Clearly what she started was never God's work. The Church is build in sand. It won't even last until the second coming. The Catholic Church has survived for over 2000 years so those little tantrums from evangelical and adventist churches are nothing. We survived Roman persecution. We survived illuminism and enlightenment. We survived Nazism, fascism and communism. So what can little adventist heretics do to something that Christ himself founded. Remember, by fighting the Catholic Church you are fighting Christ himself.

Just like it says in Hebrews 4 v 8 - 11 speaking of a spiritual rest unwavering (faith in God ).Jesus Christ died so we can have fellowship and faith in him so we can rest not only on a one day but all the 7days we should be resting, I'm sure most of those people we only rest on the 7th day if Jesus should return on any other day they would not be ready ,remember we are saved by grace not of works so no man can boast .

Only one problem with your statement, and I'm not meaning this in a hateful manner as some people do on this comment section. We are NOT under The Law anymore, we are under Grace. Christ died for our sins but the Epistles of Paul is what we go by as far as Doctrine. Christ preached the Kingdom Gospel and that ended at his death. That is why he chose Paul to be THE Apostle to the Gentiles. The Law was for Israel only anyway, with only 2 exceptions Jesus Never had anything to do with Gentiles. The O.T. is for our learning but it is not our Doctrine. Please everyone, read and study Paul's Epistles. 1 Cor. 15:1-4 is how we are saved, born again or however you want to say it :-) God Bless!

We are not under the mosaic law anymore, but we are still under the decalouge. We are saved by grace and grace alone that is right. Is the heavens still here? Is the earth still here? So the law still stands and we are all under it and it is what the devil shall use when he accuses us. And before anyone say it, "Fulfilled" is NOT just the death and resurrection of Jesus but the resurrection of the dead in christ, the second coming and much more.

They Celebrated Yahweh's True Shabbat on The 7th Day and Celebrated His Resurrection on Passover and Unleavened Bread and First Fruits, because Yeshua Died as The Passover Lamb that was Slain from the Foundation of the World and He was Buried on the Feast of Unleavened Bread because He's the Bread of Life that Had No Sin but Became Sin and He Resurrected on the Feast of First Fruits because Yeshua is The First Fruits that was Raised to Life from Amongst the Dead!!! So you see that the Pope's of the Vatican didn't just change the True Shabbat to Sunday but they also changed Yeshua's Holy Feast Days to their Pagan Non-Biblical Holiday's!!!! If you assume that Jesus asked the christians to follow letterally all the the laws of the Old Testament you shold circumcise your children or avoid all forbidden foods like those who still stick to the jewish religion of the Old Testament. As a mater of fact Christ came on earth to fullfill the law adding the commandments of loving God and one another and mentioning specifically what laws to follow letterally, which were all the 10 commandments except the sabbath. There is no evidence in the New Testament that he imposed the sabbath, on the contrary he was accused of violating the sabbath. But the act of the apostoles and the early christian litterature which is the result of the teaching of the apostols themselves to the christian community faithfully to Jesus's own teachings show that very early christians reunited to commemorate the eucharistic sacrifice on the first day of the week called the Day of the Lord , prooving that the sabbath was kept in spirit but not letterally.
If you really want to know about the Lord's Day and the Church listen what a real catholic apologist says using scriptural and theological arguments:

Uh, actually our Savior did uphold the Sabbath. Speaking of the time after his ascension, when the Temple would be razed, he told his followers "Pray that your flight not be in the winter or on the Sabbath." He wanted them to rest on the Sabbath, as always.
As for the food laws, yes, they are upheld in the New Testament. See Acts 15 where NON Jewish converts are told to avoid blood, as in the meat of strangled animals. The Torah commanded the blood to flow from the neck at slaughter. And no, Peter's meat on the sheet dream was not about food. Was Pharaoh's bakers dream of bread about food? In the Bible we are given the interpretation for dreams. Twice in the New Testament we are told "This means..." about Peter's dream and it says zip about food, but talks about pagan converts instead.
As for your link, why do you go to what someone says there, instead of to the Bible? You don't need someone to explain it all away for you!
      .
Church comes from the Greek word ecclesia which simply means a gathering of believers. Churches commonly teach that the Law has been done away with. Can you murder now, or covet, or bow down to other gods?
      .
Yes, we are saved solely by faith in the Isaiah 53 Savior. However, He said "If you love Me, keep My Commandments." His Commandments are the same as His Father's as They are One. . The Bible says that the Almighty "will not alter what goes out of His mouth." If that is not true, the Bible is not reliable. At Mt. Sinai, to the ears of the terrified Israelites below, He audibly spoke the 10 Commandments. This included a Fri. nightfall to Sat. nightfall Sabbath. NOTHING in the Bible says the Sabbath was changed to Sunday..
      .
People say "Paul said....Paul said..." But Paul said to follow the Savior, not him, and anyway Paul never said the Sabbath was changed and certainly had no authority to change what was audibly spoken by our Creator and written on stone with His very finger. When he said "Let no man judge you" he was talking to new converts and encouraging them to not give into pagan peer pressure in their new observance, not NON observance, of the Biblical holy days..
. Throughout the New Testament you can see that the apostles, including Paul, actually kept the Mosaic Law. In Acts 15, for example, "even" the food laws are upheld and yes, for NON Jewish converts. We see there that blood is still forbidden and that the new converts are expected to be, as was the tradition, in Synagogues, on the Sabbath, to learn the rest of the Law of Moses. In Acts 21, KJV, we see that Paul, and all those in the Jerusalem Council, upheld the Law of Moses and Paul took an oath to demonstrate that.
      .
Read the false accusations spoken against Stephen. He was falsely accused of saying that our Savior came to do away with the Law of Moses. Acts 6:11-14. Further, our Savior affirmed the Sabbath by telling his followers, about the time when the Temple would be destroyed - after His Ascension - "Pray that your flight will not be in the winter or on the Sabbath." He wanted them to be able to rest on the Sabbath in the future, as always in the past. . You can see some RCC leaders online admitting to the fact that the Bible does not sanction a Sunday Sabbath, but that Protestants keep it anyway since - guess who changed it? ROME, under the pagan sun worshipper Constantine, changed it over a millenium ago. Constantine said that Christians were to be executed if they kept the true Sabbath and said they needed to rest "on the venerable day of the sun." Check it out.
      .
Sun...day. It's not the Sabbath. However, the Father of Mercies knows we are all confused children. We need not to turn on others about it, therefore, but to show love. If we do not, no matter what we do it's all a waste, certainly not the path to Heaven. Yet, if you want to move away from "traditions of men" to the real truths of the real Bible, I recommend 119 Ministries' vids, starting with The Pauline Paradox. . And yes, you can rest or worship on any day of the week, but you are not supposed to...work...or cook...on the Sabbath - neither you nor those in your home, nor any servants (think waitresses and sales clerks etc.). Not even animals are to work then, or be penned up then. In fact, in Isaiah we are told to keep the Sabbath holy unto the Lord and also not to buy or sell on that day.
      .
The Sabbath is the longest Commandment and is stated in the Bible to be the very sign given to Israel of their Covenant with Him. .Other nations had laws against murder and theft for example. Only those who wanted to Covenant with YHWH, aka God, were asked to keep the Sabbath. In the New Testament we are told to be grafted into Israel.. The 4th Commandment is not a suggestion. And no, I'm not a 7th Day Adventist. You don't need a "religion". You just need the Bible and the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

They use a bible compiled by the RCC.
Where in the bible does it say only the bible? Christians were doing a pretty good job for 400 years before a bible was ever approved.
The apostles even speak of the written and spoken as defining the faith.
Fact is Baptists of any kind are just protesting the only church that traces its creation to St Peter when Christ gave hin the keys. They came from the one true Christianity and removed from it.
They dont even receive the bidy of Christ as he himself commanded when he said the only way to heaven is to eat his bidy and drink his blood.

Catholic Admissions on the Sabbath day
"If we would consult the Bible only, without Tradition, we ought, for instance, still to keep holy the Saturday with the Jews, instead of Sunday..." (Deharbe's Catechism, translated by Rev. John Fander, published by Schwartz, Kirwin & Fauss, 53 Park Place, New York, Sixth American Edition, Copyright 1912, 1919, 1924, page 81)
"Sunday...It is the law of the Catholic Church alone..." (American Sentinel, June 1893)
"From this same Catholic Church you have accepted your Sunday, as the Lord's day, she has handed down as a tradition; and the entire Protestant world has accepted it as tradition, for you have not an iota of Scripture to establish it. Therefore that which you have accepted as your rule of faith, inadequate as it of course is, as well as your Sunday, you have accepted on the authority of the Roman Catholic Church." (D.B. Ray, The Papal Controversy, 1892, p.179)
"The church...took the pagan Sunday and made it the Christian Sunday.... The Sun was a foremost god with heathendom.... And thus the pagan Sunday, dedicated to Balder, became the Christian Sunday." (Dr. William L. Gildea, The Catholic World , March, 1894)
"They [the Protestants] deem it their duty to keep the Sunday holy. Why? Because the Catholic Church tells them to do so. They have no other reason. ...The observance of Sunday thus comes to be an ecclesiastical law entirely distinct from the Divine law of Sabbath observance. .The author of the Sunday Law...is the Catholic Church." (Walter Drum, Catholic priest, Ecclesiastical Review, February, 1914)
"The authority of the church could therefore not be bound to the authority of the Scriptures, because the Church had changed the Sabbath into Sunday, not by command of Christ, but by its own authority." (Canon and Tradition, p. 263)
"The Roman Church chose Sunday, the first day of the week, and in the course of time added other days, as holy days." (Vincent Jo Kelly, Forbidden Sunday and Feast day Occupations, Catholic University Press, 1943, p. 2)
"Perhaps the boldest thing, the most revolutionary change the Church ever did, happened in the first century. The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed from Saturday to Sunday. "The Day of the Lord" (dies domini) was chosen, not from any directions noted in the Scriptures, but from the Church's sense of its own power. The day of resurrection, the day of Pentecost, fifty days later, came on the first day of the week. So this would be the new Sabbath. People who think that the Scriptures should be the sole authority, should logically become 7th Day Adventists, and keep Saturday holy." (The Pastor's page of The Sentinel, Saint Catherine Catholic Church, Algonac, Michigan, May 21, 1995)
"Sunday is a Catholic institution and its claim to observance can be defended only on Catholic principles..... From beginning to end of Scripture there is not a single passage that warrants the transfer of weekly public worship from the last day of the week to the first." (Catholic Press, Sydney, Australia, August 1900)
"Question: Which is the Sabbath day?"
    "Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath."
"Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?"
"Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church in the Council of Laodicea (A.D. 336) transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday." (The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, by Peter Geiermann, 50)
"The civil authorities should be urged to cooperate with the church in maintaining and strengthening this public worship of God, and to support with their own authority the regulations set down by the church's pastors. For it is only in this way that the faithful will understand why it is Sunday and not the Sabbath day that we now keep holy." (Roman Catechism, 1985)
"A history of the problem shows that in some places, it was really only after some centuries that the Sabbath rest really was entirely abolished, and by that time the practice of observing a bodily rest on the Sunday had taken its place. It was the seventh day of the week which typified the rest of God after creation, and not the first day." (Vincent Jo Kelly, Forbidden Sunday and Feast day Occupations, Catholic University Press, 1943, pp. 15, 22)
"Regarding the change from the observance of the Jewish Sabbath to the Christian Sunday, I wish to draw your attention to the facts:
    1) That Protestants, who accept the Bible as the only rule of faith and religion, should by all means go back to the observance of the Sabbath. The fact that they do not, but on the contrary observe the Sunday, stultifies them in the eyes of every thinking man.
    2) We Catholics do not accept the Bible as the only rule of faith. Besides the Bible we have the living Church, the authority of the Church, as a rule to guide us. We say, this Church, instituted by Christ to teach and guide man through life, has the right to change the ceremonial laws of the Old Testament and hence, we accept her change of the Sabbath to Sunday. We frankly say, yes, the Church made this change, made this law, as she made many other laws, for instance, the Friday abstinence, the unmarried priesthood, the laws concerning mixed marriages, the regulation of Catholic marriages and a thousand other laws.
It is always somewhat laughable, to see the Protestant churches, in pulpit and legislation, demand the observance of Sunday, of which there is nothing in their Bible." (Peter R. Kraemer, Catholic Church Extension Society, 1975, Chicago, Illinois)
"Nowhere in the Bible do we find that Christ or the apostles ordered the Sabbath be changed from Saturday to Sunday. We have the commandment of God given to Moses to keep holy the Sabbath day, that is the seventh day of the week, Saturday. Today most Christians keep Sunday because it has been revealed to us by the [Roman Catholic] Church outside the Bible." (Catholic Virginian, October 3, 1947)
" 'Our Lord rose from the dead on the first day of the week', Said Father Hourigan of the Jesuit Seminary. 'That is why the Church changed the day of obligation from the seventh day to the first day of the week. The Anglican and other Protestant denominations retained that tradition when the Reformation came along'." (Toronto Daily Star, October 26, 1949)
"I have repeatedly offered $1,000 to anyone who can prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is a law of the holy Catholic Church alone. The Bible says, 'Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.' The Catholic Church says: 'No. By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week.' And lo! The entire civilized world bows down in a reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic Church." (T. Enright, C.S.S.R., in a lecture at Hartford, Kansas, Feb. 18, 1884)
"My brethren, look about the various wrangling sects and denominations. Show me one that claims or possesses the power to make laws binding on the conscience. There is but one on the face of the earth-the Catholic Church-that has the power to make laws binding upon the conscience, binding before God, binding upon the pain of hellfire. Take for instance, the day we celebrate-Sunday. What right have the Protestant churches to observe that day? None whatsoever. You say it is to obey the commandment, 'Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.' But Sunday is not the Sabbath according to the Bible and the record of time.
Everyone knows that Sunday is the first day of the week, while Saturday is the seventh, and the Sabbath, the day consecrated as a day of rest. It is so recognized in all civilized nations. It was the Holy Catholic Church that changed the day of rest from Saturday to Sunday, the first day of the week. And has not only compelled all to keep Sunday, but at the Council of Laodicea, A.D. 364 anathematized those who kept the Sabbath and urged all persons to labor on the seventh day under penalty of anathema.
Which church does the whole civilized world obey? Protestants call us every horrible name they can think of-anti-Christ, the scarlet-colored beast,Babylon, etc., and at the same time profess great reverence for the Bible, and yet by their solemn act of keeping Sunday, they acknowledge the power of the Catholic Church." (Industrial American, Harlan Iowa; a published lecture by T. Enright, December 19, 1889)
"Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change [Scriptural Sabbath to Sunday] was her act... And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical authority in religious things." (H.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons)
"But the Church of God [that is, the Roman church, NOT the true Church] has thought it well to transfer the celebration and observance of the Sabbath to Sunday." ('Catechism of the Council of Trent' translated by John A. McHugh and Charles J. Callan, p 402)
"It was the Catholic Church which, by the authority of Jesus Christ, has transferred this rest to the Sunday in remembrance of the resurrection of our Lord. Thus the observance of Sunday by the Protestants is a homage they pay, in spite of themselves, to the authority of the [Catholic] Church." (Plain Talk About the Protestantism of Today, by Mgr. Louis Segur, 1868, p.213)
"Question: What day was the Sabbath?"
    "Answer: Saturday."
    "Question: Who changed it?"
    "Answer: The Catholic Church."
    (Rev. Dr. Butler's Catechism, revised, p. 57)
"Question: Have you any other way of proving that the church has power to institute festivals or precepts?"
"Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religions agree with her, -she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority." (Rev. Stephen Keenan's A Doctrinal Catechism, p. 174: Edward Dunigan and Brothers, New York, 1851)
"The Sunday, as a day of the week set apart for the obligatory public worship of Almighty God...is purely a creation of the Catholic Church. It is...not governed by the enactments of the Mosaic law. It is part and parcel of the system of the Catholic Church." (John Gilmary Shea, The American Catholic Quarterly Review , January, 1883)
"Question: How prove you that the church hath power to command feasts and holy days?"
"Answer: By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allow of; and therefore they fondly contradict themselves, by keeping Sunday strictly, and breaking most other feasts commanded by the same church."
"Question: How can you prove that?"
"Answer: Because by keeping Sunday, they acknowledge the Church's power to ordain feasts, and to command them under sin: and by not keeping the rest [of the Catholic feasts] by her commanded, they again deny, in fact, the same power." (Rev. Henry Tuberville's, (D.D.R.C.) "An Abridgment of the Christian Doctrine", p.58. New York: Edward Dunigan and Brothers, approved 1833)
"You will read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we [Catholics] never sanctify." (Cardinal Gibbons' Faith of Our Fathers, p. 111)
"Protestantism, in discarding the authority of the [Roman Catholic] Church, has no good reasons for its Sunday theory, and ought logically to keep Saturday." (John Gilmary Shea, American Catholic Quarterly Review, January 1883)
"It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day observe a commandment of the Catholic Church." (Priest Brady, in an address, reported in the Elizabeth, N.J. 'News' of March 18, 1903)
"The church has changed the Sabbath into the Lord's day by its own authority, concerning which you have no Scripture." (Johann Eck, Handbook of Common Places Against the Lutherans, 1533)
"Protestants...accept Sunday rather than Saturday as the day for public worship after the Catholic Church made the change. But the Protestant mind does not seem to realize that in observing the Sunday, in keeping Christmas and Easter, they are accepting the authority of the spokesman for the church--the Pope." (Our Sunday Visitor, February 5, 1950.)
"The idea of importing into the Sunday the solemnity of the Sabbath with all its exigencies was an entirely foreign one to the early Christians." (Director of at Rome's Ecole Francaise, Louis M.O. Duchesne (1843-1922), Christian Worship, p.47)
"If Protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath Day. In keeping the Sunday they are following a law of the Catholic Church." (Albert Smith, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, replying for the Cardinal, in a letter dated February 10, 1920.)
"If you follow the Bible alone there can be no question that you are obliged to keep Saturday holy, since that is the day especially prescribed by Almighty God to be kept holy to the Lord. In keeping Sunday, non-Catholics are simply following the practice of the Catholic Church for 1800 years, a tradition, and not a Bible ordinance.... With the Catholics there is no difficulty about the matter. For, since we deny that the Bible is the sole rule of faith, we can fall back upon the constant practice and tradition of the Church." (Francis G. Lentz, The Question Box, 1900, pp. 98, 99)
"Is it not strange that those who make the Bible their only teacher should inconsistently follow in this matter the tradition of the Church?" (Bertrand L. Conway, The Question Box Answers, 1910, p. 255)
"You will have noticed, my dear children, that the day on which we keep Sabbath is not the same as that on which it was observed by the Jews. They kept and still keep the Sabbath upon Saturday, we on Sunday; they on the seventh, we on the first day of the week. Understand how great is the authority of the [Roman Catholic] Church in interpreting or explaining to us the commandments of God-an authority which is acknowledged by the universal practice of the whole Christian world, even of those sects [i.e., protestants] who profess to take the Holy Scriptures as their sole rule of faith, since they observe as the day of rest not the seventh day of the week commanded by the Bible, but the first day, which we know is to be kept holy, only from tradition and teaching of the Catholic Church." (Henry Gibson, Catechism Made Easy (No.2), Ninth Ed., Vol. 1, pp.341,342)
    4th Commandment:
Exodus 20:8 REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, TO KEEP IT HOLY.
    9. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
    10. But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man servant, nor thy maid servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.
    11. For in six days GOD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and RESTED THE SEVENTH DAY: wherefore GOD BLESSED THE SABBATH DAY, AND HALLOWED IT.
Hebrew 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
    2. FOR UNTO US WAS THE GOSPEL PREACHED, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Galatians 1:8 But even IF MAN OR AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN SHOULD PREACH A GOSPEL OTHER THAN THE ONE WE PREACHED TO YOU, LET HIM BE ETERNALLY CONDEMNED! 9 I'm repeating what we've said before: if anyone preaches something different from what you received, they should be under a curse!
Hebrews 4:3. FOR WE WHICH HAVE BELIEVED DO ENTER INTO REST, AS HE SAID, AS I HAVE SWORN IN MY WRATH, IF THEY SHALL ENTER INTO MY REST: ALTHOUGH THE WORKS WERE FINISHED FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD.
    4. For HE SPAKE IN A CERTAIN PLACE OF THE SEVENTH DAY ON THIS WISE, AND GOD DID REST THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS.
    5. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
    6. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached ENTERED NOT IN BECAUSE OF UNBELIEF.
    7. Again, he limited a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
    8. FOR IF JESUS HAD GIVEN THEM REST, THEN WOULD HE NOT AFTERWARD HAVE SPOKEN OF ANOTHER DAY.
    9. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of GOD.
    10. For he that is ENTERED INTO HIS REST, HE ALSO HATH CEASED FROM HIS OWN WORKS, AS GOD DID FROM HIS.
    11. Let us LABOR THEREFORE TO ENTER INTO THAT REST, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
    12. For the word of GOD is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
    13. Nothing in all creation is hidden from GODS sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom WE MUST GIVE ACCOUNT.
1 John 3:1 Behold, WHAT MANNER OF LOVE the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
    2. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (when we accept and obey, we know we are of him, because we act like him)
    3. And every man that hath this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
    4. WHO EVER COMMITS SIN TRANSGRESSES ALSO THE LAW: FOR SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW.
    5. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
    6. WHO EVER ABIDETH IN HIM SINS NOT: WHOSOEVER SINS HATH NOT SEEN HIM, NEITHER KNOWN HIM.
    7. Little children, LET NO MAN DECEIVE YOU: HE THAT DOETH RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS, even as he is righteous.
    8. HE THAT COMMITS SIN IS OF THE DEVIL; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
    9. WHO EVER IS BORN OF GOD DOTH NOT COMMIT SIN; for his seed remaineth in him: and HE CANNOT SIN, BECAUSE HE IS BORN OF GOD. (because of the holy spirit)
    10. IN THIS THE CHILDREN OF GOD ARE MANIFEST, AND THE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL: WHOSOEVER DOETH NOT RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT OF GOD, NEITHER HE THAT LOVETH NOT HIS BROTHER.!
Matthew 7:21-23; 21. Not every one that saith unto me, LORD, LORD, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
    22. Many will say to me in that day, “LORD, LORD, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works”?
    23. And then will I profess unto them, “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Work iniquities= Practice lawlessness, willfully sin (Hebrews 10:26)!

Well the name "Catholic Church" was first stated in 107 AD in a letter from Bishop Ignatius of Anthioch. "Wherever the Bishop appears, there let the people be. As wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the CATHOLIC Church." I rest my case. The Catholic Church existed at least 200 years BEFORE Rome made Christianity their official state religion.

C HOW DID THE LAW COVENANT BECOME "OBSOLETE"?
However, the Law covenant became in a sense "obsolete" when God announced by means of the prophet Jeremiah that there would be a new covenant. (Jer. 31:31-34; Heb. 8:13) In 33 C.E. the Law covenant was canceled on the basis of Christ's death on the torture stake (Col 2:14), the new covenant replacing it.---Heb. 7:12; 9:15; Ac 2:1-4.
Thus, if a person insists on holding to the observance of the literal sabbath, he fails to accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the torture stake and thus rejects the forgiveness of sins that it makes possible. It is just as if he insisted on offering animal sacrifices after Jesus had offered himself, the one sacrifice for sins forever.

please read Matthew 28:1. And it says in the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and other Mary to see the sepulcher...( King James Version bible). That chapter of the bible talks about when Jesus resurrected. However, you can read from chapter 27:50; that verse talk about His death. It makes sense that Jesus promised to resurrect after the third day of His death, and the bible tell you exactly the day of his resurrection. Just count three days before Sunday and you will realize that it was Friday the day in which Jesus died. Please can you tell me where in the bible says that Passover was on Sabbath?

The fallen angel has given the church the power and authority to change laws and time, hence it comes with no surprise that the Lords 10 Commandments have come under direct attack and mockery. History is very clear and I respect the fact that the Catholic Church clearly admits to the change, but what is surprising is the fact that the rest of the Christian Protestant churches follow such change. What the Devine creator has established for us all should have never been challenged by us, man.

It is good to know your church history when things like this come up. People who know the real reason Christians worship on Sundays will not be deceived by this video. We know that Sunday worship began immediately after the resurrection of Christ and was world wide by 60 AD way before the Roman Catholic Church was formed around 300 - 400 AD. The reason why Christians worship on Sundays is to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. Not because the sabbath is now the Sunday, no true born again Christian believes that. The sabbath was the Saturday we can't change that, however we as Christians believe in a new covenant where we have entered a rest for our weary souls a rest that is in Christ Jesus. Therefore Jesus is our sabbath and we worship everyday and any day. The sabbath is in Christ.

That's not true. The Holy Roman Catholic Church "changed" the day of worship to Sunday to their convenience. Remembering that Rome was converting to Christianity from a pagan belief. They wanted to incorporate some of their beliefs with Christianity so they "changed" the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday, the day of the sun god. NO where in the bible does it say to observe the 1st day of the week/Sunday. It says to observe the 7th day of the week/Saturday. May God Bless and give you understanding.
