After a year of use we have the NGK Iridium spark plug review. In this video we will compare conventional nickel alloy spark plug with Iridium spark plug. The video also differentiates normal, platinum and Iridium spark plug based on their thermal and electrical conductivity. The resistance to corrosion of spark plug electrode is critical along with the heat range of the spark plug which is primarily dependent on the electrode material. Along with the technical information on different spark plugs the video shares practical experience with effect on fuel efficiency, ride, throttle response etc.

Bro I am a physicist, Researcher at Apex National Metrology Laboratory of India, currently working in a govt. department which is responsible for testing and making laws and an enthusiast with knowledge about various theoretical aspects of things. I have rarely come across any channel on CZcams which gives theoretically accurate, precise and to the point information about things they cover in their videos, and none of those channels, if any, exist in india. You're one of the best among bests of your field. Keep it up.
For eg. In the case of spark plugs, smaller dimensions central electrodes create higher electrical fields necessary for discharge/spark to happen efficiently and the trade off is the material which is being evaporated at atomic level each time with the spark. So you need a material which can be as fine/small as possible and withstand all other criteria, so iridium coated electrode must have been a suitable choice for manufacturers.

I almost forgot that I had installed NGK Iridium on my Pulsar 180 when I got the bike in 2015. Its still running really good. Even on a super cold starts, its just a second or two, the engine starts;l whereas, my friend's Pulsar 180 (Champion), takes few tries before it starts.

Even I found the same feedback when I used iridium spark plug in my fiero for about 4years and found very less gain in fuel efficiency and certainly it is not useful for persons if he is using the bike only for citi rides. This type of spark plug helps end users if they use the vehicle frequently on highways to maximize the iridium spark plug usages in long term.

I bought myself a 2006 Kawasaki Z1000 with about 90,000Km‘s on her clocks. That bike had been standing for ages that there was life in the air-box. After getting everything cleaned + new gaskets, cam-chain and guides I decided to go for iridium plugs.
Starts on the Milli-second and in most cases doesn’t even need choke.

Very true. Using CPR7EAIX-9 from a long time now. Negligible fuel efficiency difference from stock Champion copper nickel coated plug. Minor changes in throttle response and better idling is what I got.

I had bought an NGK Iridium plug many years ago for my RX135 two stroke engine. Like you said it does not make much difference in combustion quality or performance difference by any great but plug fouling which is even more common in two stroke engines due to factors like lower compression, or factors like richer mixture, or too much two stroke engine oil going into cylinder and also having double the spark cycles.
Anyway, since it has thinner and seemingly longer lasting tip compared to conventional RBP7HS which is also considered to be a decent plug. I had removed that plug on thoughts like leaving the bike for service with mechanics I don’t know well.
However, this plug solved the fouling problem for me, and takes the varying oil fuel air mixtures quite well over conventional plugs. Nowadays I use it only for longer rides, since it’s not widely available and more expensive. Hopefully it will last forever that way, just kidding!
Bro retune your bike as I've noticed that iridium plugs burn the fuel much better than normal plugs it'll run great
These plugs win at replacement intervals.

I'm using Nikavi's iridium spark plug in my pulsar 150. Throttle response and cold start is improved.

Please try ruthenium. I use them in my 3 vehicles. 2 are modded heavily. Non issues, pulled set out of my truck at 45,000, same gap at install

Correct there is not a major difference in performance using the same on Karizma r 2012, however what i have heard is you gotta need to change the sparkplug cable as well to get the best performance alongwith the plug
@@rohanrawal3949 no need to change the cable, these are not for improving the performance to a noticeable limit. These are for smooth start and efficient, fast burning of fuel. But the burn interval and quantity would be the same. For analogy, it's like you're spending on a good gas stove lighter, so that it can be ignited effortlessly every single time.

Hi, always had this question, although copper plugs definitely won't last as long as the iridium ones, but regardless of life, won't the copper plug perform better than iridium till the time it's in good condition as it has better electric conductivity??

My suggestion based on my experience :
Never change the Stock Spark plug with other Spark plug for performance or increased mileage
There are way more fake BOSCH Spark plugs in market and they won't rev beyond 6k RPM and many won't last beyond a month.
If you want to change sparkplugs then buy only NGK sparkplugs.
They are the most trusted and durable plugs.
Brother I think u never use iridium spark plug if u once use you forget original spark plug from my experience when I switch to iridium spark plug throttle response n milage increase...stock one good but sometimes company not provide iridium spark plug bz of cost cutting

For cold start problem please check the carburettor tuning , use Castrol power 1 ultimate fully synthetic engine oil . That engine will always have had the cold start problem so always Start with choke.

Next time use cpr8 in iridium if you ride frequently it's like cpr7 is "19" for your Apache but cpr8 will be "20" as it's perfect for cold engines

Tried the platinum ngk plug in HF Deluxe(not used by me). Saw improved cold starts but somebody broke the wire.

i bought ngk iridium spark plugs from LRL motors for my ns200 bs4......yes i got a negligible change in fuel efficiency but i don't think i got any other improvements.....Cold starts are impossible without choke in my motorcycle(is that an issue??)...i don't think it ia worth to buy ngk iridium spark plugs
Some NS200's are notorious for this issue. My friend with bs4 ns200 also complains the same. Is the idle rpm fluctuating?
And here my ns consumes fuel more than a camel consumes water.😭
@@bahheh7759 Yeah it's a problem in NS and RS.....some gets goods mileage some gets nothing.....one of my friends has a RS200 bs4...he gets a mileage of 28kmpl....Though i get an average of 34kmpl-35kmpl which is satisfactory for me being a 200cc

I heard about Irridium sparkplugs melting the valves of engines were they are not commonly used. But I always wanted to do that.
If you got money you can change but they won't cause any damages. So feel free to change them.
go for nikavi it's cheap than NGK if you have to buy 2 go for nikavi worth buying it can last long
Irradium won't do any good on 125 cc engine but also not damage the engine as spark plugs have very little effect of english mechaniclas.
