- The Lallantop team reaches Bangalore as part of the Karnataka Chunaav Yatra. The city of Bangalore boasts of many premiere institutes of the country, one of which is The Indian Institute of Science i.e IISc . We visited the campus where Homi Bhabha, Vikram Sarabhai, CV Raman and many other notable scientists and ISRO chairmans passed out of. This was the place where they conducted their research and experiments creating history and making the nation proud. Sonal Pateria talked to some college students who showed us campus and shared all the inside stories and realities of IISc. Watch the video to know about it.

मैंने पहली बार ISRO शब्द को "आई एस आर ओ" बोलते हुए सुना हैं, लगभग सभी लोग ISRO को "इसरो" ही बोलते हैं। वैसे ये रिसर्च स्टूडेंट IISc बेंगलुरु के हैं इनकी तो बात ही अलग है।

An Objective Analysis: What is certain we are lucky and fortunate to have institutes such as IISc, TIFR, NCBS, etc. All these centers have top-class faculty. The IITs are often pretty good at B.E. level. The British (though they exploited us had many good qualities as well) left us a great educational system. Since politics is now in the hands of mostly uneducated people in India this system rather than improving is suffering from incompetence, Fake PhDs are all over. Thus IISc, TIFR, NCBS, etc. are islands of excellence in India. An objective analysis reveals that they compare pretty well with good (if not the top-most ones) U.S. and European Universities, and also have quite a few of the faculty as good as top global universities. In an objective sense we have an edge over Chinese Universities where Israeli and U.S. Jewish scientists are directing the Chinese. In fact Technion, Weizmann Institute, etc. all have branches in China. The USA, Europe and Japan have an advantage since they have much more resources thus can afford to be more extensive in research. JNU academically as of now can not compare with these institutions and in comparison at the genuine global level is nowhere..

As an Research Scholar I would like to agree with you, but the increasing rate of suicide amongst various PhD scholar, is concerning. Before blaming for resource I think what is more important make PI more accountable, focus quality over quantity. otherwise the accademic bubble will burst like Harshad Mehta scam
@@presidentputin2114 Absolute agreement. Though the British greatly exploited India they also had some great qualities. They left us a great educational system which is now significantly compromised and fake degrees are being given that too quite often. Fortunately we have some islands of excellence and some great (truly world class) scientists directing research. An overhaul is certainly desired!
ICGEB, IISER (CHAIN), ICMR, ICAR, JNCSR, IBAB, NIMHANS, BARC, DRDO, ISRO, others are ofcourse IISc, IIT, IIIT. So we have tons of good institutions.
@@non_done For genuine research only TIFR, IISc, NSBS, etc. are top class that is at a good level by U.S., European, Japanese, etc. standards. IIT is pretty good at BE that is lower degrees. We must have institutes like the Rockefeller University (earlier Rockefeller Institute and Satyajit Mayor is trained there), Caltech, etc. which are a class apart from all other Universities in the USA. Harvard is huge but has also some mediocre faculty, while Rockefeller and Caltech tenures faculty which are truly exceptional. More people like G.N. Ramachandran are needed. We are fortunate to some some exceptional scientists such C.N.R. Rao, Balaram, etc, need many more of in this class.

Not to offend anyone but title is wrong. JNU is not required in the title because it is no where near IISC, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay , IIT Kanpur, IIT Kgp in terms of competency and this is true. The so called intellectual and liberal people of JNU and who follows JNU (like lallantop), they just poke JNU, JNU , JNU , JNU everywhere. I am not saying this without proof. Just look at the NIRF scores of JNU and IISCand IIT (B,D,M,K) and you will know.
