- Debbie Allen's exquisite choreography and William Goldstein's music created this "Classic Fame Ballet". Mixing pop, rock and classical, they created an infectious, dynamic and inspiring piece for all ages. Lead dancer Gene Anthony Ray, who died in 2003 at the age of 41, gives his all, as always!
This track is featured on William Goldstein's FAME album. This video has been enhanced to 16:9 HD and the audio is a true Stereo MIX. The original broadcasts were mostly in mono. - Hudba
I loved fame it was great and flash dance ❤
I miss the 80s so much. There was some sort of magic in the air to make music more beautiful or something. Anything trying to be 80s nowadays just fails.
True
Considering Gene Anthony was not a classically trained dancer makes this scene even more mind-blowing. I hope, somewhere, wherever he is, he knows how much he is still admired and loved.
Your aware he's has passed away aren't you,.so unbelievable sad, brings tears to eyes thinking about it.
I loved his raw passion. Definitely a legend!
Jesus has him in his loving arms at this moment. The world and Heaven loves you Gene!!!!
How did he pass, wow had no idea it’s been so long
Leeroy was thee best....effortless raw talent
Debbie Allen, she had everything and Gene Anthony Ray. I was just in awe of his dancing. Was completely obsessed with this programme as a kid.
ANTHONY GENE...SIGH...YOUR TALENT WAS BEYOUND BELIEF..😥💔❤❤
Michael DeLorenzo ya'll!!! I will NEVER FORGET. First time I saw him on New York Undercover I was like, "That's ol' dude from Fame!" Super talented guy.
He was also in 2 of Michael Jackson's music videos, Thriller & Beat it
I remembered him! He was also in an episode of Blue Bloods.
@@carolynlowry8586 He played a guy who was in a wheelchair, and Danny had a conversation with him.
Gene Anthony Ray, gone too soon. He was a natural.
Gene Anthony Ray was a forced to be reckoned with. What a gifted and talented dancer…he is truly missed.
I always loved watching Bronwyn Thomas (younger sister of Richard Thomas of "The Waltons"). She's the little ballerina Michelle (in the teal leotard). I know she was with the American Ballet Theater at that time, I believe. There was an article about her in "Dance Magazine" during the 80's.
One of the greatest dance sequences of the show.
For me it is Life is a celebration
I love this show when I was a kid.
I used to look forward to Thursday evenings every week when I was 15 as Fame was on at 8pm and nothing else mattered!!!
This was the true, authentic dance.
I remember watching this TV series as a teenager. At that time I never took a dance class in my lie and I looked at the dancers in the TV series as gods or something. Anyone who could stretch their leg and hold their arms like dancers, even some of the characters in the show that were more in the drama classes, looked so special to me. I started dancing a few years after and managed to reach a fairly good level of ballet and modern dance and it's funny to me how I became like these people who could dance and looked so special to me.
Eartha is soooo gorgeous
That is real sweat on Gene Anthony Ray’s chest: strength, poise, grace, AND sass. Dancing with the Stars who? 🦋New sub.
Y'all be fierce! Words to live by.
This whole performance is just amazing. It comes up in my feed, and I have to watch it every time.

Tks a lot for share this scene!
Funny, I just found this and I'm a big Fame fan. And just found the recording, I remember almost every pieces on it, and can see the images of the show. Thanks for this music. Fame had a big part in me wanting to become a musician, I did and I'm a piano teacher now. Thanks.
Music and dance in perfect harmony...
Great dancing!
I was so in love with Cameron English!
80ς ... my best years
You don’t get better than that.
😍
The dancer behind Gene Anthony Ray, the one in the cutoff grey t-shirt, is he the actor who played Paul in the 1985 movie version of "A Chorus Line"? Sure looks like him.
😍👏👏👏👏👏
Love
Siendo adolescente estuve enamorado de Bronwyn Thomas. Veía Fama solo por verla a ella.
E poi non dimentichiamo lee Curreri ovvero Bruno martelli e Cocò Hernandez, Doris Danni Amarillo ,e poi in seguito Nicole Chapman E Jessi Velasquez eccecc❤️
Quiero ver capitulos completos por favor de esta excelente serie
Fosse inspired
Dance then seemed to be more "lifted ". The movements were wider? Arms and legs fully extended. Today, dancers are more grounded. And movements are more contracted. One style isn't better or worse. Just an observation and appreciation for how dance changes over time.
I wanted to marry Bronwyn Thomas back then, but at the time I was only 13 and it''s frowned upon where I come from.
Easy lng yan
Bloody WELL inspiring. Brilliant.
