Cutting and removing cast iron pipe

In this video I show you how to cut and remove cast-iron pipes-whether a vent line or a drain line.  I am using a 6 inch Ratchet Soil Pipe Cutter. When using other methods like a reciprocating saw i.e. Sawsall or a grinder, this method proves to be the quickest and easiest. I rented this unit from Home Depot tool Rentals for $31.79 for a four hour rental.. As I begin cutting this brittle cast iron pipe, I installed a safety brace so that the cast-iron doesn’t pop out and land on you or the toilet that is below.. If you will be doing this type of drain or waste removal, make sure you are wearing eye protection and also ear protection is recommended.
