On February 17, I flew from San Francisco International Airport to Sacramento International Airport on a United CRJ-200. This flight was just over 20 minutes, so there was no beverage service.

While I've got mad respect for the CRJ, I will admit to being partial to the Embraer family of jets!!! They tend to fly and land a little smoother than do all the CRJ's I've ever flown (personally or professionally)! As always, another great trip report. Thanks so much for sharing...

Dam full flight to SMF. Sacramento is a cool place. I live is a new housing community they just build next to the airport. Its awesome to see the planes take off and land all day.
Wow I never knew you could actually fly from San Francisco to Sacramento or vise versa due to the duration/short time flight and I been in Sacramento for over 20 years..
And I hope you're connecting to that HA A330 at SMF? :) Loved that takeoff view--seeing that a/c on final just as you lifted off,his landing lights reflecting on the bay water,really cool to catch that view! Really surprised how full the flight was,seems to be basically a shuttle flight across the Bay--am considering a trip to the Napa Valley--what airport would be the gateway,SFO, SMF or Oakland?
Ah I wish, but I connected to Alaska believe it or not! I think Santa Rosa is the gateway airport

I live between Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area and I always choose to fly out of Sacramento mostly because of the convenience without dealing with Traffic going into either Oakland or San Francisco.

I actually really like the CRJ-200 too! Along with the other CRJ regional jets.
is it true the taxi time on this flight is longer than the actual flight? lol
smflyer town it can be the case on some flights. Not just this particular one as well
It happen to me on a 45 minute flight from JFK to Rochester, NY I was stuck on the on the taxi for like an hour but I was amazing. Plane spotting in JFK is the best

hey what can you tell me about the frequent flyer programs with American Alaska Spirit Southwest United Delta jetBlue and frontier and possibly sun country are they bumps up to first class and what group are they for American
I'd say Delta has the best program, as they make it sort of a lottery for who can upgrade. But with American they offer really cheap upgrade when checking in to a flight

For a short flight it sure looks packed. Could have beat that flight to SMF by driving.

There is a flight that runs EWR-PVD it’s about 30 mins or under with a cruise of 10,000ft. A ridiculous flight honestly, sometimes they put a 737-700 on the route lol...

yes the 200 is the original CRJ...with no leading edge devices and less engine thrust...its a challange on takeoff (KDEN)

What's the practical purpose of this flight? Couldn't you walk there faster? Heck, if it sells seats I guess it doesn't matter.
As fellow Californian no you can't simply walk from SF to Sacramento. Sac to SF is an hour and a half drive if you're lucky
Yeah, and also United pretty much sells this flight for Sacramento locals that are traveling internationally to fly from let's say London to SFO, then connect to SMF instead of driving back and forth

Have you ever driven in the Bay Area? South Bay to Sac is 2.5 hours on a good day, 2.25 is the small hours. 3+ hours is more typical, and that’s not even counting the drive out of the The City, which can take an hour or more just to move a couple blocks on 1st to get on the OBB.

Who thinks the Embraer 145 is worse than the crj 200?
I don't for one. The ERJ at least has a one-seat side. The CRJ is much smaller and cramped, and you have to bend down just to look out the window.
I will admit the erj has good windows
I do. Although its a touch more comfy than the CRJ, I find it noisier and less efficient. It was Embraer's response to the crj, so we can't expect much.

Delta might have the worst boarding system but they also have the nicest product.
