      I prefer to replace gasket if it's available, as one guy said, good insurance against possible leaks. I usually evac the fluid from the dipstick tube when dropping the pan. I've had maybe 2 drain plugs come back because they were seeping no matter high much more you tried to tighten them up! Came across your channel maybe a week ago and working at a ford dealer your content is great!

    Changed my trans fluid and filter at 62,000 miles to install a new pressure solenoid to bump the pressure to my clutches to 300 psi when over 15lbs of boost. I tow and haul about 12,000lbs when on the road so I wanted to help keep my clutches from slipping when hauling up mountains here in the west. My fluid was as red coming out as it was going back in. I have a 2015 F350 CC Superduty with a 6.7 Powerstroke. Has been an awesome truck for for the last six years. Added a Amsoil dual oil filter setup on it with a 2 micron secondary filter. Electric trucks are a joke. My truck will go 400 miles fully loaded and only take 10 minutes to fill up and do it again all day long.

  • @Jason1Pa
    @Jason1Pa Před 5 lety +2

    For the life of me can not read the dip stick on these trucks whether it's the trans or engine oil. For the trans I measure what I take out and add the same amount. I do that about every other year and change filter. Fluid never gets nasty. I prefer that then going somewhere to do a flush

  • @mro4440
    @mro4440 Před rokem

    GOLDEN RULE - Never use anything but Motorcraft filters. I sent the wrong filter with my truck to the local shop for a trans fluid change. They ran down to O'Really? and installed the cheapest filter available. The filter media separated and was sucked up into the lift tube. Now all of the fluid was being filtered in an area about the size of a quarter. All that money and good intent to prevent issues down the drain over a few dollars of quality.

      Chris W 6 speed T-shirt has slipping lockup. If you drive 40-53 mph, depending on rear axle ratio, a lot with no load then the converter clutch will apply to the level that engine to trans input rpm will be about 50 rpm different. It reduces the slip and the squishy- sloppy feel at low rpm in higher gear but not give driveline moan and groan vibration. The result is spot heating of fluid in TCC and darkening. Not because of fluid type but due to the TCC slip. It is a widespread tactic used by most these days

    I,roll the FT180 Filter in my 2005 6.0 purchased the pan for the 6.4l which is a bit deeper and allows for using the FT180 Filter which is a much better filter instead of the so called Rock catcher filter on the 6.0's and you can delete the toilet paper roll bypass filter. Before I, changed over I,once had a fluid and filter service at a Ford dealership in Phoenix/ Glendale area and a day or 2 later when I, was checking out the Installed parts and noticed that they didn't change the toilet paper roll filter, I,wasn't aware that you apparently needed to make a special request to get that filter included in your transmission fluid and filter service, I,was like are you shitting me ! I'm sure That You Mr.Arod would never do that to a customer would You?

      U need to check the secondary cooling system for leaks. Make sure there is coolant in the little bottle on passenger side. I have seen the intercooler leak internally and the engine drafts the coolant inside and eats....setting that code. Otherwise you'd have 2 perform the pinpoint test for P026A.

    Yeah explain to me how you don’t drain all the fluid when its that dirty , because everytime you change the filter and clean the pan and magnet all the fluid should be changed if you are doing it right. The transmission does have a pump on it so you don’t need a machine hooked up to it just disconnect the transmission cooler return line and let it pump it out , and just keep adding fluid until clean fluid is coming out then reconnect the line
