Love how Tales of Destiny had Tower of Druaga as a special dungeon, and then Tale of the Abyss just went "Hey, ever heard of Dragon Buster".
Namco loved doing this with the Tales games, it's a fun little homage that I always appreciate. 😁

I wonder how PC88 and PC98 ports look on original CRT display. There are videos on youtube showing real hardware and games don't have such strong dithering, since CRTs are blending colors. On the other hand I don't which method these computers use for video output. PC EGA also had 640x200 mode which was super sharp on EGA monitors. There are some games using 640x200 resolution on PC, but they're mostly ports from PC88.

I love Dragon Buster! It's a very good Namco Game! Plus, I like the Fujitsu FM-77AV Version the best because not only the soundtrack sounds good, but it looks and plays great!

    That sprite is hysterical 😂
    I can't get over it!
The versions where they fixed it look great though.

DragonBuster is very funny to me. It is the story of the warrior with two left or right arms, it depends on which way the sprite is facing XD.
But for everything else OK, it's a fun arcade and I think it's the first game in history to include the double jump that's so requested in the industry today.
I dind´t know it has a arcade port.

I have never played DRAGON BUSTER before,
but it does look retrospectively awesome 😺👍🕹️.
It even reminds me a little bit of
    WONDER BOY IN MONSTERLAND -
which i played on my Amiga 500.
    😺👍🕹️

The tales of the abyss one because compared to the other ones its not as clunky and feels balanced when comparing them side by side.

Dragon Buster is the best game plus the Sharp X68000 and Fujitsu Micro-77AV version is the best version because it plays just like the Arcade version

    So, basically:
PC-88 had the best presentation (cool title screen and character bios) but worst visuals (what a paradox), and a somewhat better sound.
NES was easier (most enemies done after one hit) and had more variety in enemies' sprites.
SHARP X1 was pretty close to the arcade original (alas almost as easy as the NES verison) BUT has some fu*ed up speed-ups/slowdowns depending on how many sprites are on the screen.
MSX took best from the NEC-PC and NES versions (excluding sound), but couldn't scroll the levels, duh. Btw, what was the real difference between Zemina's and Namcot's versions?
PC-98 version, just like the FM and PC-88 (as I've stated earlier) ones, tried very hard but all failed in the visual department (seriously, both NEC-PC's versions looks atrocious. How people even could play games like that, my eyes was about to start bleeding?!)
SHARP X68k had the most faithful port, when the word "port" still meant something.
    PS1's version=straight emulation.
PS2's version had 3D in it and looked funny, but...I dunno.

All the Nec PC games looked like crap, with the really low vertical resolution and the dithered colors. I wonder if it was done on purpose and the screens would smooth it out like NTSC consoles on composite video.

PC88 a brand home computers based on z80 cpu that was sold from 1981.
They were limited to 8 colours on screen.
A later (1987) variant "PC88VA" had an exclusive gfx mode that could show up to 65k colours (with hw sprites and scrolling)
Fujitsu FM77AV is from 1985 and was more capable than contemporary NEC offerings
