Hello all!
I haven’t done a “Tips and Tricks” video in a while, so here’s one now! It’s been requested quite a bit for me to cover several topics, so this one is about eyes.
Now let me just say this, this is NOT a tutorial on how to draw eyes one way. This video is to give information to you guys to aid you in creating your own eyes! There are 7 tips inside the video I included that gives you the basics on what to incorporate in an eye, different eye shapes and tips on how to start creating your own unique eye style.
I personally believe that you should not just copy someone else’s style. Instead, take elements you like from different styles. Maybe you like how one artist draws the hair and how this one draws hands. Maybe the anatomy is something you like in one artist’s style but the eyes from another. In a way, you’re Frankenstein-ing the styles to create something that is unique to your interests and therefore is your own style.
Using realism and using reference photos helps in creating a unique style because you’re not copying a drawing, you’re drawing from a real photo.
Overall, I hope this helped you guys learn how to start creating your own eye styles rather than learning how I draw my eyes.

I like how you draw, I like to watch your videos because 1) I learn how to draw better and 2) I practice my listening and understanding, I don't know much English, and my teacher told me to practice. So I try to listen videos in English, but your videos help me in the two things, I want to be more 'perfect'.

Very helpful video, thank you! It was a good idea to show at the end of the video how different types of eyes changes the whole look of a figure. My biggest problem when drawing eyes is that the second eye looks so much different than the first one 😅. But like everything with drawing problems this is a matter of practice.

SO helpful, yet again. I think it would help other fellow artists if you did a tutorial on body shapes and how to draw the legs and arms. Not to mention hands and feet. I find hands are the most difficult part of a drawing to me.

Omg all I needed was this!
I find it weird how in anime/manga when the characters are scared or in shock their pupils shrink (well the whole eye), when in real life if you're intrested or scared your pupils dilate (expand)

I do normal SIZED but completely circular eyes and have ZERO eyelashes and the pupil is oval like on the bottom but also covers the rest of the top half

This video has inspired me to start re-drawing how my eyes look, but only a part of it. I was in the middle of drawing some of my just...random drawings I do ((XD)) and since I'm sort of halfway done with it but am still working on it this video inspired me to do something different with my eyes I draw, thanks for doing this video!! I use the same eye shape as you but color them differently.
I still have to work on coloring eyes haha. I base my eyes off of realism, so I can see how we use the same eye shape :)

I really urge you to create your own style based on a realistic eye, like I said in the video. I aim to give you tips on creating your own style. Since how I draw eyes is unique to my style, copying my style would not make your art unique to you. I challenge you to push your creativeness and create your own! :)
