What is YOUR favorite game you’ve played so far this year?
So far it's the newest Lacerda game, Inventions, ridiculously thematic and very tight decision space and so challenging! I've played it just twice and can't wait to play again

Awesome summary and congrats on 1k! My friends and I have been enjoying Green Team Wins and Century Golem edition from your recommendations, and Splendor is in my top 3 as well.
Of course I have great affection for Love Letter ❤. If you liked the simplicity but want more agency in choosing actions, BraveRats (also by Seiji Kanai) is a quick 2-player game for that. For those who like the Love Letter style mechanic but want more complexity in the card effects, Lost Legacy and its expansions are also fun way to mix it up.
Someday we'll need to play Love Letter together so you can show me what it's REALLY about! 😊

I love that you still rank Splendor so high. It is a great game. That and Jaipur are the two games that hooked me into the hobby and I still like to play them every so often.
100%! I think people take Splendor for granted at this point, but man what an elegant game!

The easiest games to get to the table tend to be card games or party-type games, and we've had a lot of fun. Sushi Go never seems to get old, Hearts and Spades have also been fun lately -hard to beat a classic trick-taker. Just One has been a new favorite too.
I'm ashamed to admit that I have an unopened copy of Sushi Go that's been sitting on my shelf for YEARS. I got burnt out playing 7 Wonders pretty early on, found Blood Rage to be "okay", and just couldn't get motivated to play another drafting game... 😅
I really need to give it a try!
@@BoardGameCasualChannel No shame. I have a long list of games that I "should've" played, lol. This is a great one that is easy to get to the table and pretty light. By the end of the day, everyone is brain-dead tired and this is a good option for us.
