Allotment Year 5 - July 27th 2022 Tour

It's been another dry month, this time with only 3mm of rain when the average rainfall for July in our area is 46mm, which is a huge shortfall. Amazingly everything has been surviving on one big watering every 2 or 3 days. The onions, shallots, garlic and spring onions are out and we've been harvesting our Jazzy potatoes, which have been very tasty. The net is off the blackcurrant and gooseberry bushes after we finished harvesting the fruit, which has resulted in no shortage of jam! The Tayberry and Waldo blackberry have been providing lovely fruit compotes and the blueberries and raspberries give us snacks on the plot every time we're there. Now I've started to list everything I've realised there's so much going on it's best just to watch the video! I don't think anyone reads this description anyway! :) Please comment if you do.

Thanks Helen! Cabbages seem to do quite well for us, even in Sahara-like conditions!
