Updated sub10 run: • Siegfried Vs. Lucilius...
Welp, the 1.2 patch is finally here and Siegfried ended up being one of the biggest winners in terms of DPS improvement! The problems I discussed in my earlier videos regarding his low DPS (undertuned damage caps and low link time DPS) have been completely addressed and now you're very well rewarded for landing those perfect combos and executions. I didn't quite manage a link time in this run due to how much faster the fight goes and not building for stun, but Siegfried can now spam his Perfect Execution constantly during link time, absolutely skyrocketing his DPS with these new damage cap buffs. Suffice to say, the solo DPS check against Lucilius is no longer an issue for Siegfried.
I'll be looking to lower this time even further, as I made a few big mistakes like getting SBA sealed for a Paradise Lost cast. With Dragonslayer's Warpath, your DPS really, really depends upon landing the latter half of your perfect combo chain and whiffing it is pretty devastating now. I think I could realistically manage Sub12 minutes with enough practice and attempts. As for those using Flight over Fight builds, I'd expect for even Sub11 runs to appear on Bilibili pretty soon as the Ver1.1 record for solo Siegfried was 17:59. It's nice that this fight is much less of a test of endurance for Siegfried now, which makes it easier to grind for better times.
The new Dragonslayer's Warpath sigil is a massive 40% normal attack DMG increase that bypasses damage cap and is a necessity for faster clear times, and in exchange you have -50% DEF which heavily discourages you from facetanking during combos without some way to offset the DEF loss in your build. In addition, this sigil makes it so that your damage skills (besides Uwe for starting another combo) are always a DPS loss and so your skill choices become much more flexible; I chose to run Manigance to offset some of the defense decrease from Warpath. In future runs, I think I'll also swap out Nelah Nav with Mirage for even more uptime on DEF buffs. I even went as far as to drop Dragonslayer's Ingenuity from my build to make room for sigils, but I may add it back in later to get Uwe back up more often. Unfortunately as of Version 1.2 there's no way to get Warpath+ sigils, so some utility is inevitably lost. I chose to run Stout Heart + Steel Nerves in my build to offset the lower survivability as I personally don't enjoy playing with Flight over Fight+Glass Cannon. Another option could be to run Dragonslayer's Dominance for the Stout Heart + 20% DEF as well as Stronghold for another ~20% DEF; I'll definitely be looking for Stronghold V+ sigils.
Speaking of curio V+ sigils, with the addition of Behemoth, there's finally an endgame curio sigil grind for relatively sane people! Behemoth has a decent chance to drop any previously curio-exclusive sigil, including Supplementary Damage V+. This is a very healthy addition to the game as the curio grind was simply ludicrous. It's a good start, but once the excitement of the patch wears off, we'll be left with pretty low endgame variety once again as other fights become less appealing to farm. It'd be great if more Proud fights also had a chance to drop these sigils to spice things up. It's unfortunate that the quick quest feature is still practically worthless for endgame farming as it could have been a great way to keep a varied endgame if the rewards were appropriate for the time investment and scarcity of gold tickets. Instead, dalia badges are pretty much relegated to skipping the grind for rare boss materials, especially ones like Excavallion that can't be AFK'd.
