    The SSA-E and the SDE are basically the same trigger bow except for the flat vs rounded trigger. The SSA and the SDC are the same except again for the curved vs flat trigger bow. If you want to go flat bow then the SDC (Super Dynamic Combat) is a great trigger and does not have as light a release as the SDE.

    I love all my dozens of Geissele triggers (SSA, SSA-E, SCAR, MCX, ACR...). My Super Sabra has a funky curved/straight hybrid face which I really like.

    Sd-e is my favorite trigger by far. I used to be a larue fan after using one of their mbt2s (they’re nice and all ) but the different was considerable

    I have the SD-C in my URGI, and i love it. Have an SSAE coming in today for another one as well as an SSAE spring kit to upgrade my SD-C to the SD-E

    This geissele triggers seem to be well worth the price. My last 3 aero builds I used jmt saber triggers for 99 bucks they are amazing. I just finished and aero m5 .308 build with a cmc flatty cant wait to see how the flat trigger feels.

      @thegunpenguin  Před 5 lety +1

      The Geisseles are definitely worth the money. I'm cheap, so I always wait and buy them whenever there's a patriotic holiday. Geissele always runs a 20-percent-off coupon those days. $190 or whatever that end up being seems a lot more palatable than $240.

    Yes, my friend! This is my all time favorite trigger. Have it in my Daniel Defense M4V7LW. Keep up the good work here. I also made a video on this trigger but I was outside with high winds that day. Should have brought it inside. Great video!

    Can we get a review of the p365xl? It looks like its gonna be one of those guns that you can stretch into any role, carry, home defense, etc.

    • @thegunpenguin
      @thegunpenguin  Před 5 lety +1

      I'm with you, assuming it avoids the problems that some of the 365s have had, it'll be an awesome gun. But, I doubt I'll get one. It's not on my list, and I generally avoid SIGs. Don't get me wrong; SIG makes outstanding pistols, but the quality control problems keep me away.

    That action on your AR15 is pretty smooth. I mostly hear sandpaper on most videos. I like to smooth out all the action of my AR15s as well.

    Geissele triggers really turn a gun into a weapon. They are transformative. Once you buy a SSA E or SDE, you can never go back to a milspec trigger.

    • @thegunpenguin
      @thegunpenguin  Před 4 lety

      I agree. Though I certainly don't mind mil-spec triggers, and I'm not good enough for it to make much difference, a gun with a Geissele installed feels like home.

    • @Jdowling357
      @Jdowling357 Před 3 lety

    ALG ACT in HD guns, SSA/SD-C in all others. I like a heavy single stage. Probably from growing up shooting shotguns and bolt guns, but to each his own.

    great video bro, i seen this before i ordered 2 sd-e triggers for my 2 vltor a5's, feels great overall, on a side note i use red mobil 1 syn grease or lucas oil engine bearing oil to provide a bit better feel and yes, having thick oil, or grease does allow trigger to have a better overall feel when pulling trigger because you have some type of lube between trigger contact points and this does indeed reduce friction significantly.

    • @thegunpenguin
      @thegunpenguin  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank you for the kind words! You're right about heavy lube improving feel. However, it also causes the lower to attract sand, dirt, and whatever else gets in there. For a competition gun, coating the relevant trigger bits in grease is just fine, but for a defensive gun, my experience has taught me to use as little as gets the job done.

    I LOVE how the super duty SSA-EX feels. It has an insanely “right” feel. Like it’s just meant to be there.. zero noticeable oddities, just smooth and it even has like this minor perceivable butter like roll that’s followed by that nice crisp break. Do you find the SD-E to be anything like what i just described?

    • @civilian0005
      @civilian0005 Před 2 lety

      My LaRue mbt2s does the same thing with the reset bringing you all the way back to the start. I think that’s just how all 2 stage triggers work

    • @thegunpenguin
      @thegunpenguin  Před 2 lety

      That's not how all two-stage triggers work; I have some that deposit your finger back at the wall, rather than the start of travel. However, I think the Geisseles are inherently a bit safer because of this.
      As for your description of the SSA-EX, I'm not sure. Everyone uses different language to describe something as subjective as a trigger pull, but I'll do my best. In general, the SD-E does feel similar to other Geissele two stages. The take-up is light and very smooth. There is a slight bit of give at the wall, just a little squish, followed by the break. It's very pleasant.

    • @civilian0005
      @civilian0005 Před 2 lety

      @@thegunpenguin funny you mention “squish” before the break.. that’s how I felt the ssa ex felt. A slight smooth roll into a sharp break. But my SDE did not feel like that at all. Wall - candy cane break - done.

    • @thegunpenguin
      @thegunpenguin  Před 2 lety

      @@civilian0005 While I do my best to objectively describe something subjective, you might feel my particular SD-E and have a very different experience. That's the trouble with purchasing a trigger you've never felt in person. And to make it more complicated, there is some variance from unit to unit.

      Just as good in what way? You like the feel just as well? Feel is subjective; I personally don't prefer the Rise triggers. But, I can say that the Geissele trigger geometry and the way they're built offers a few advantages. Will you see any benefit from such advantages? I have no idea. If Rise is working for you, that's awesome, but they are $120 for a reason.
