- Caesar is dead, long live Caesar. IGN sat down with the cast & director of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes for a wide-ranging interview about their experiencing writing a new chapter in the Planet of the Apes franchise. Stars Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, and Peter Macon discuss the challenges of staying rooted in their characters while also having to believably act like apes - or in Allan’s case, being the only human onscreen for most of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ runtime. Director Wes Ball (the Maze Runner trilogy) also explains how improvisation was facilitated on the set of the performance capture-heavy movie and how the franchise deserves its first-ever Academy Award for VFX. Ball also details his plans to include a cut of the film on the Blu-ray which does not include the visual effects which transform the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ actors into their characters. And yes, of course we asked Ball about his next project: the live-action Legend of Zelda movie.

Releasing a workprint of this film is a really great tool to study for future filmmakers.
The cast has me more hyped to see this movie
I’m really excited for the movie and the cast.
Would love for this movie to win oscar for vfx but Dune part two also exists
Yeah it’s a shame
Kevin Durand can play Elon Musk in a movie. Man if Kevin works on his speech abit it will sound spot on.
Out of all people, Kevin Durand can mimic Elon Musk and disapppear into the role.
300 years after war
Freya : oh really
When the director talks about her shoot
That's so cute 😊 ❤
What a wonderful dayyyyyyy
WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY
What a wonderful day!!
Can’t wait to watch the movie! Already heard amazing things about it, it’s a must watch! 🙂🙏

Looks like it's going to be a awesome movie 🎥
Raka, no no, we shall name him BORTUS.
Does that mean something?
@@amorojaz27 absolutely google “The Orville” the actor who plays Raka plays a character, Bortus, on that fantastic show.
Harambe will be miss 🐵

@@trippiemikee_6303stop it.

@@jonwinne8208no no he’s right.
No fuel
@@JdeMolay ah yes cars do famously disappear when out of fuel
@@jonwinne8208 No fuel, no use. Useless things usually get stripped down for parts.
Where is ceaser wtf
Dead
Dead this is quite a bit of time after the complete fall of the human race these essentially pick up releatively close to the originals ape societies humans hunted.... ceaser was still interscting with humans on a scale where humans were still somewhat the dominant species....
Lol he died at the end of the 3rd film
Andy Serkis's character is dead.
Yes, what they watched in the telescope was the ICARUS approaching to the earth, but we will see it in the 3rd movie 😱😱😱
This is the 4th movie. 🤨
based on other comments from the director and people around the project.. its seem to be a thing they are planning for the trilogy after this one, so movie 7-9. Its way too early right now to play the Icarus card if they don't do a thousand(s) year time jump between movie 4-5 or 5-6
Did he say a different species 🥴 huh? Humans are great apes we aren’t some type of special being 🤔
We're basically turned into different great apes, because we're going through a million years of evolution while some of imps aren't.
Human are great apes yes, but that doesn’t make us the same species as the other great apes. Orangutans, gorillas, humans, chimps, and bonobos are all great apes but distinct species
@@lukej7758 bro we still ape we are an animal at the end of the day just like them
Movie is kinda drag. Very long scenes of nothing basically. The trilogy before this movie really wrapped it up. This recent film essentially offers nothing new, or at most, a brief glimpse of the future, with the closing 20 minutes featuring some drama when Kevin Durand's character eventually appears. This is a 4 out of 10 for me.
wrong
The only reasson why planet of the apes is still reverlant is because of matt reeves reboot
He wasn’t even involved with Rise of the Planet of the Apes, so actually you’re wrong lol
@@alextownley9388dawn and war were the best box office wise and he finished the trilogy. So yeah, he did lmao, not saying he started it but he definitely carried.
@@merdemoiii-7589 so? They are all fantastic films.
That and the other like 10 movies, TV show and massive fan base haha. Shits been around for 60 years and you're probably like 14. Goto bed kid lol
For Wakanda 😂
