I always felt that Claudia had the potential to be more of a threat than her father because she basically grew up with dark magic all her life she's seen and been taught about taking the life of another for your personal gain, she doesn't know any other way and doesn't see anything wrong with her way of living and soon will go down a path she may never come back from.
she does see something wrong with it. You see it when she has to kill a deer to save her brother. She just thinks anything is worth achieving her goal and she's ready to sacrifice basically anything
@@zachariz1490 her thing was always family, so much so that Viren used it to "corrupt" her. Soren states this plainly in season 3 when he gives his reasons for turning against his father and pledging his allegiance to Ezran, specifically that he's known for a long time that his father will say things in such a way that you have to do what he says, even if you know what he asked was wrong. Claudia was clearly the "favourite" because she took to magic naturally and Soren didn't (the Zuko and Azula comparisons aren't exactly subtle) and because of that, Soren likely wasn't as exposed to Viren's manipulation because he was busying himself with physical aptitudes that Viren didn't care about.
Claudia also reveals through her actions how we know she will always go to extreme lengths to protect her family. She took her mother's departure *really* hard and I think it broke her spirit, she does what she does to save Soren because she doesn't want to relive that trauma again. Thus, she does the same thing to bring Viren back from death and continues to make terrible decisions. Claudia's arc is basically "the road to hell is paved with good intentions"
what I'm curious to see is if she will have some sort of reckoning when she fully realises who she is returning to their plane of existence. She already had a brief "come to jesus" moment at the conclusion of last season when she saved Rayla and returned the coins Rayla's parents were trapped in, but will there be another one?

This is going to be an awesome season. Not only will we see more of Aaravos but we will also see more of Sol Regem and the Blood moon huntress. This season is going to have so many great things in it. I can’t wait for it to come out!

@@deonaustin9575Agreed. I have a feeling Viren is going to sacrifice himself to save Claudia or to bring her back to the light… but in the end, it’s all in vain as Claudia is too far lost. I just love the tragic symbolism in the ending scene, the way Viren is desperately trying to reach a drowning Claudia, but she’s just too far out of reach.

I haven't loved an animated series in years so much that every time I see new content in my 20s it makes me scream like a 10-year-old. You don't know how excited I am for the new season and it is undoubtedly one of the series that I liked the most. Thank you for coming into my life dragon prince 🥺

If you need a show to fill the void of NOT having sweet colorful cartoon best friends trying to save the world, with a great plot and cast, in your life when you're finished Dragon Prince, try She-Ra and the Princesses of Power! It's actually how I got to Dragon Prince, searching for something to fill the void that She-Ra left in my heart
i think most of us can agree last season was a little slow. i didn't mind it too much but this season is looking like it'll be a real banger! can't wait until the 27th to watch it! More aaravos, more rayla and callum. yes please!

@@CaptainTitforce maybe more than a little, although i dont think it's totally fair to say there was no progression at all. we get to see Viren's processing of having to deal with the fact he died, and him sliding back into dark magic towards the end. we get to see Callum and rayla's relationship being strained but slowly healing.
the season hardly moved the plot forward but a plot is only as interesting as the characters in it, season 4 had a focus on those characters, as well as effectively being a fresh start, the first season of a new arc, introductions are usually fairly slow. I'm not here to proclaim season 4 is the best animation ever put to TV/streaming, it's probably the weakest the show has to offer but it did much more than nothing...
@@thegamedevcave Viren just 0/1 flipped back to his old self after picking the staff, same with Rayla and Callum.
First they had a huge rift between each other because Callum was hurt, then suddenly they were okay. And once again, back to the same they were before season 4 like nothing happened.
In theory, character development happened during season 4 and then the characters just went back to what they were before.
And all the previous seasons had great character development AND plot development, so I don't buy that it should be just one of the two that progresses forward.
Don't know about you but I just binge watched the whole series for the first time and didn't know anything about the criticism towards S4 but I definitely immediately noticed that something was wrong. And by the end, well a lot was bad tbh, not just the plot development. Straight up character assassination too.
@@CaptainTitforce One of the greatest mistakes was to put a major plotpoint into a graphic novel. I've read it, but I assume most people havn't. The relevant story has to be in the show, everything else must be additional.
While I do like a humorous element and some light-heartedness, I think it was a bit much last season. They should have cut down on the jokes and filled the time with actual story.

As someone part of the Deaf community, I love Amaya, but why this season is no one else signing to her?! Yes, Gren can interpret, but the myth needs to die that deaf people can rely on reading lips! Even with context, hearing and non-hearing people trained to read lips can only understand about 30% of what is said! So why are all the characters not consciously including her into conversations?! Like, LOOKING at her! And signing for themselves to speak with her?! I want to scream at Callum, “YOU KNOW ASL! WHY AREN’T YOU TALKING WITH YOUR AUNT?! INCLUDE HER!” “JANAI! YOU ARE HER LOVE! SIGN WHEN YOU SPEAK TO HER SO SHE CAN UNDERSTAND YOU!”
TDLR: please oh please, make the characters that love Amaya like family treat her like family. Be inclusive of her. She doesn’t have to accommodate to a hearing world. The world, her own family and friends must accommodate to her. As my Deaf grandma would say, “A Deaf person can do anything, but hear.” It’s just a bit obvious that the writers are hearing and haven’t spent enough time thinking for how a Deaf character lives in the world.

@ralphward741 That may still be true. But that project will take time and in the meantime Claudia has been learning from him and serving his interests for two years. As it stands she is more useful in the short term, even if Callum is the long term goal.

Well, I can say that this trailer has had me blown. I'm looking forward to seeing Rayla and Callum get back together. I'm also looking forward to seeing Caludia going down deep into darkness and what choice Viren would have to make for his daughter. Viren was given 30 days to live, and we have 30 days to TDP S05. When it comes, we'll have to replay that scene 0:53 on that day, just a few hours before it airs on Netflix. Most importantly we'll have to prepare who will die in this season.
Can't wait to see how they get Rayla's parents out of those coins.

They have a few things I really like like this and Stranger Things. Occasionally something comes along I like like Klaus or Arcane or Edgerunners or that Pinnocchio they made with Del Toro. I can't say I use the service a whole lot but I kind of hold on with them for those occasional gems, lol.
Looks like this season is going all out as the stakes are even higher now with Viren's time alive nearly running out and Aaravos being one step closer to freedom. Claudia's decisions, so far, are leading her even deeper into the darkness, and to top it off is the official debut of the Bloodmoon Huntress.

Claudia started out so sweet. Sure she had no issue with dark magic and all it involved but she was a sweet, studious lady with a crush on Callum. Now she’s a madwoman with no regard for any life but her fathers.
I so am excited, but also worried that they may don’t have enough time to do justice to all the characters and plots going on.
There are so many things going on in this trailer, but they also have to develop the characters they introduced last season and start rebuilding Callum and Rayla relationship.
And we can’t forget about Janai and Amaya, I really hope they get more scenes this season, as sunfire elves are one of my favourites.
Besides, something that’s been bothering me is how the human kingdoms are kinda being ignored, I know this arc is not about it. But at same time it’s weird how they were so important in first seasons, and now are basically letting Katolis do whatever they want with the elves and dragons.
Another thing is how Ezran has to be everywhere, I understand he is a important character and all. Even if he has people to work and handle the problems in Katolis, he is still the king.
Anyway, I really hope this season goes well, can’t wait for more Rayllum 😜🥰
Is Amaya the human ain't gonna lie making her gay caught me of guard but they don't need to make every strong women get that lame ass haircut personally her character last season got caught up in romance than what actually made her character interesting if you ask me. And yeah the human kingsdoms were kicked to the side hope I see them again especially that young Queen from first season.

If Viren will be hours away from death, we can safely conclude that since saving him will need the direct help of Aaravos, he will be freed in this season.
And finally some real violence will be seen, and cruelity by Claudia, she was twisted so far too, but in this season.... I expect way more evil deeds from her!
Without spoiling anything, this season goes insanely hard, probably the best one yet, even topping season 3. Definitely a must-watch especially if you're already invested in the series.
The art style has taken a dramatic change for the better, the characters are still aged up from season 4 and mostly retain their designs, but notably the backgrounds and animation have taken a _huge_ leap in quality. Some of the locations and scenes are, for lack of better words, simply breathtaking.
The writing in this season is _so goddamn good_ as well. It seems the writers have finally gotten over their fear of showing overt violence and killing because this season is by far the most brutal of them all, a lot of people(mostly soldiers) are killed or gravely wounded in realistic ways during the battles, and it's actually quite refreshing compared to other shows of similar production quality(see: Star Wars Rebels, Avatar The Last Airbender)
To compare the violence in this season to another popular series I would say it's about on-par with Clone Wars seasons 4-5, not exactly "graphic" but it makes no attempt to hide the fact that people are dying and being hurt.
This also serious raises the stakes and tensions in a realistic way without feeling forced, because you realize the writers absolutely are capable of killing their characters off, and _sticking to it._
This is a slight spoiler but I think we all saw it coming: Rayllum is officially still sailing, and stronger than ever... Not only is the quantity of their scenes together higher than season 3, but they're also significantly sweeter, which I didn't think was even possible.
It's extremely satisfying to see them finally working together as a fully established couple with nothing holding them back anymore. (especially after season 4, yeesh)
And a final note, for those of you who _have seen the season_
Man... that stuff with Viren's dream, that was insanely powerful, right? like I wasn't the only one tearing up, right?
I kinda suspected he would get an arc this season but, man, I was not expecting it to play out like a Shakespearian play, goddamn.
IMO it was same as S4 so so so bad. Hope netflix cancels this.

I said this before about Season 4: With a 2 year time skip, you definitely need to have more than 9 episodes to do a proper set up of the main conflict, as well as covering what had happened in those skip without feeling rush, or just completely ignored it for the later season. Biggest disappointment for me was the lack of exploration of Callum’s magic. He’s the first human primal mage and somehow it wasn’t treated as a big deal. It’s like he got a pat in the back by a few people and then the world just went back to doing it’s thing, all without realizing the huge implication of a human being able to do primal magic. I’m surprise he didn’t try to teach other people who would want to become a primal mage. 2 years are plenty of time to get things done. Not only that, but he’s so underpowered, he should’ve given Claudia a decent fight at the very least. I think I only saw one new spell he used, but everything else has been the same since season 3.
It’s probably that they’re trying to not make any of our Heroes/Heroines stand out too much, but if that’s true, then I think there’s a lot of effort being unintentionally placed on Callum having a bigger role in all of this.
There better be a Rayllum kiss or else!😡

I am curious, if Viren's time is running out and possibly even die what will happen in the fallowing seasons? There are 2 more after this. I think there's only 2 ways this could play out. 1. The more likely case is that he eather dies at the end of this season or in the begining of the next, when they are really close to Aaravos and Claudia frees him 'cause he promised to bring him back having him as the final boss of the final season or, the less likely case, Viren goes again on a rabbit hole of evil and they have to defeat all 3. I think the second one is more unlikely 'cause we saw last season that he had a somewhat change of heart but at the end he seemed to relapse, but from what I saw in the trailer he keeps trying to be there for his daughter and her boyfriend
from the way aaravos speaks to him he seems to reveal he doesn’t really care for viren, doubt it but maybe aaravos would let him die but in a way that pushes Claudia further down the wrong path, that or he’ll begin to second guess things even more
They also have Kimmy to fight now.

Super excited for the new season! I am hoping that the coin trapped people are getting freed this season. I would love a reunion scene for the parents and our Runaan and Ethari.
Coming soon on Netflix. I can't wait to see what happens next after watching all the episodes in seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4. I have been dying for all-new adventures. I am also hoping our heroes would be able to stop their enemies from releasing Aaravos, the evil Startouch elf who is responsible for causing more pain, death, and suffering to the innocent. Callum, King Ezran, Rayla, Stella, Bait, and Soren must save the world from the forces of darkness or Aaravos will take over it and all mages forever. Elves and humans are able to unite as one and live in peace and harmony. And as for Runaan, Rayla's mentor and guardian, and her parents, Tiadrin and Lain, are still trapped in the coins because of the wicked Viren and his daughter Claudia all those years ago. Rayla misses them very much and hopes to free them from their coin prison one day. Runaan, Tiadrin, Lain, come back to her.

For me, each season of Dragon Prince is getting better, both in the quality of the story and in the animation, and it shows that this fifth season will be incredible.
How the hell was the travesty, known as season 4, better to you then the previous seasons??
@@CaptainTitforce Well, the positive things showed the origin of Aaravos as well as how powerful and how dangerous he is, they showed much more of the world of Xadia such as more magical creatures, the culture of the elves and more information about dragons, which will be shown in this season that the years have passed to see how the characters have grown physically, mentally and emotionally and most importantly to show how they want to improve the relationships between humans, elves and dragons to get along better, well that for me season 4 shows many interesting things that are worth watching.
@@davidosoriomaciel2486 Everything except for the origin of Aaravos was done in the previous seasons but better.
There was barely anything new about the earth elves and they were supposed to be the focus, since the season was named "Earth".

@@cloverlucky5977 umm, Yes we did in season 4? Terry, Nathan and whoever those dragon hunter guys were.
My point was that all the previous seasons established a lot about the different elf races and in season 4 even the sun elves were focused on more than the earth elves, even though the season was named Earth.
Started the first episode of season 5 on a sunday evening counting on watching 1 or 2 episodes before going to sleep but ended up watching the whole season at once. It was probably the best season so far!
