After 35 years smoking, I was prescribed Zyban and I quit smoking immediately. After about a week with no yearning of smoking, my insomnia got so bad it started affecting me at my job. This was ten years ago and I'm still smoking.
Yes, the meds actually took the cravings away. Weeks passed without problems but as soon as I stopped taking the pills and had a cup of coffee, it was all downhill from there. 😪
@@PalBatey seems like coffee is one of your triggers. It most definitely is for me. I tried the medicine and I think I'm allergic to it or had a bad interaction with another medication. Needless to say I stopped taking it and unfortunately I'm still smoking
Bupropion is a ndri. Norepinephrine dopamine reuptake inhibitor that has stimulating effects. It is also a nicotinic ach antagonist of which helps most people quit smoking.
I love it, it's really helping me quit smoking, the only downside is that it does have a bit of an amphetamine effect, I have more energy but my partner does not like it, it makes him spacey, detached & short-tempered. So i guess that its good for some people & good for others.
Today I've been taking it for 10 days, I'm very anxious and I'm still smoking, do you need to make an effort or is the medicine enough for you? what did you notice?
Yes, you need to make an effort. After 10 days of taking 150mg at night only, I switched to taking another 150mg at noon, 12 hours apart. Then slowly started reducing the ciggeretes I smoked, after 2 weeks, stopped completely. When taking this medication, ciggeretes taste horrible anyway, bitter taste and you don't feel the same satisfaction from smoking. Its been a month now, but I have not smoked. Still taking this medication. Temptation is always around, I do what I can to avoid it. 😁 I smoked over a pack a day for 26 years, and I was sick of it. Its a filthy habit worth giving up. Good luck my friend. ❤
When I went to two tablets a day I woke up all teary and intensely sad and down. Lasted for two days and then got better and I stopped smoking completely. Lifelong habit for me so I’m really happy with results.
It’s making me want a cigarette every 5 min. My mouth stays dry, I get more headaches, and I’m wide awake after 5 hrs of sleep, I’m staying hungry most the time. It’s been a week now tomorrow I’m gonna try going without any smoking to see if it helps any.

after taking 300 mg for 10 days i felt sudden knee ache in my right leg on day 11 while i was rinsing my nose the water in the sink turned slightly into red ,on day 11 i discontinued taking burpropoin ,on day 13 knee ache went away

I am working on quitting….I had ibs and it got rid of my ibs…now hopefully the urge goes away soon
Bupropion and Chantix together gave me anger problems. It does work for smoking cessation. Only if you continue to use it.
