      Yes indeed. But one cannot go very far without a support system in place. Bangladesh got their first GM even before India. But unlike India, they failed to capitalise on that achievement.

      @@rubayethasan8329 Take a chess set and go to a park and start playing with an opponent, You will see how many people gather there to view the game. Almos everyone in Bangladesh know's about chess. It's Bangladesh's failure that they couldn't make it. A great example is football.

      @@rubayethasan8329 chess is not popular exceptin Russia and former Soviet Union countries. Still countries need to capitalise on the succesd of their chess players. Chess is not popular in India either but India has built up a chess eco system thanks to Vishwanathan Anand. Bangladesh is a much better chess playing nation than Pakistan that does not even have a single GM and may never have one.
