There are going to be a good amount of characters who unfortunately will not become playable characters in Smash.
But it's still interesting to think about what kind of move sets these characters can have if they were playable, so that's why I'm here today.

This comment sounds like one of those god damn future smash Bros memes
Feel like BrawlFan would make one for Glamrock Freddy and Gregory. With a gimmick where Gregory fights using different tools from the game based around keeping enemies at bay and having safe movement options. Then using Freddy to deal large launching damage. (Also since you can't use camera teleports for up specials I figured Gregory can just use an elevator for a slow but protected recovery, and Freddy can mimic Monty's super jump)
that actually sounds very cool, i'm making a moveset for freddy and gregory but i pictured them working together for example the side tilt would have freddy's hatch open and gregory kicks his legs out. As for what i plan on using for freddy's up special is a reference to sun and moon, where moon uses this hook and cable to fly, basically a small orb would appear above freddy, it'd hook onto him and he'd swing upwards to gain height.

My personal one:
*Final Smash*
I would say Final Smash could be either a Jumpscare or something that calls upon a lot of characters such as having Foxy run past and hit them, Golden Freddy dropping on them, Bonnie and Chica both attack having Bonnie slam with his guitar and Chica throwing her cup cake, if you were to include characters from later in there series you could have Baby’s grabbing arm (the one that reached out and dragged the girl in) and it could snap then release, have Ballon Boy slam them with a sign, have Springtrap doing a grabbing lunge (like he does in his original Jumpscare) you could have Mangle nite, obviously, have FunTime Freddy get BonBon to attack, have the Puppet tie them up... or something similar, Nightmare Freddy coming in with Freddles, end it with a 2D or 2 1/2D sprite of Purple Guy (the 16 bit one) attacking like in the FNaF 3 mini games

@@IcyDiamond most of the fnaf games are coming to Nintendo and security breach is coming to PS5, plus, if you compare the views from the first fnaf play through vs the first undertale and cup head play throughs, you will see fnaf was slightly more popular. Plus adventure Freddy has the perfect body (no sin) and attacks for super smash bros, but there is a lot of characters that could be in it, but Steve, sans, and cup head were all originally indie games, plus Steve somehow got in with literally no powers whatsoever, and adventure Freddy does have powers, and looks pretty agile. I’d say a 50/50 chance.
I would have given him a crawl, considering that plenty of the other animatronics in the games can crawl through vents
Also, it could be cool if instead of poisoning as his passive, maybe he could damage foes when he lands on them from above, knocking them away a little bit and small damage, I mean he is CRAZY heavy

I need to let you know right now, it is great to see someone talk about Freddy's moves in a fighting game, with it in mind first and foremost that he is a _horror_ character.
Other movesets I've read for FNAF reps have him using (over)using gimmicks in that sort of omit his eerie/horror aspect, some giving him that sort of Mario-esque atmosphere of a harmless platformer mascot turned fighter; and others straight up make him an anime/JRPG character; those annoy me most of all.
I like your propositions here and fully intend to watch again. Good work here!

I'm sure a lot of their moves would be similar to Freddy's along with a few unique moves of their own.
Or they could be the alternative colors.
@@nightcordat25enjoyer I think it would be better if they were separate characters since one: they all play different instruments (although I'm not sure if Foxy plays anything) and two: I think there's potential of the three characters having slightly different movesets from Freddy. I especially wanna see what Bonnie would do with his guitar (I apologise for my lack of FNAF knowledge, I'm too lazy to do my research).

1. Freddy's a game character from a franchise as popular as (or more popular than) Undertale (which they've already included by adding Sans).
2. People are meming about it (like they did with Sans and Steve, which both got in), which will likely get the game more noticed by the Smash developers.
3. He's a game character, so the chances are higher to get in then a few anime characters people want in.
4. Pretty much the entirety of FNAF is on the Switch (that being pretty much all Minecraft had for Steve to get in).

Minecraft was an indie game before Microsoft bought it so steve is the closest we can get to an actual indie character. I think I would love freddy even if others might not since we need horror game representation and I think FNAF is as tame it ould get.

i know this is two years ago but here is what I think they'd say.

I have my own idea for the Victory animations. It could be like Joker where the style and atmosphere is completely different from the rest of the fighters. Each animation can have a Greyscale gloomy version of the victory animation environment, and the menu music from Ultimate Custom night can be playing, giving it a more intimidating eerie feel fitting for the franchise he represents. It can even have a flash of static before the animation rather than the standard transitions.
1. He could be holding a mask/helmet that looks like the face of the last character to be KO’d and places it on the fnaf 2 desk. During this he says “Better luck next time”
2. The camera shows Freddy’s hat on the floor when he comes around to pick it up and place it on his head as he says “That sure was fun”
3. Freddy could start at one position, and the static flickers a few times with Freddy showing up somewhere else each time. The last time is him with his face right in front of the camera staring directly at the player. When this happens he says “When you wake up, just remember, friends are forever”.
That first victory screen idea is CREEPY

No. Steve is a meme character, but only because he is haha funny kids game character that joined smash it doesn't mean Goku or Shrek can be in.
Minecraft was (and still is) a HUGE part of gaming on youtube. It's very popular too. Nintendo didn't added it because fans were making jokes about it. A employee suggested. So that means even Nintendo acknowledges that Minecraft is a big part of gaming.
Different from FNaF. FNaF sure is a great game that came on Switch and all, but the closest to indie game fighters we got were Assist trophies (Shovel Knight) and Mii costumes (Sans and Cuphead). A total of 7 Million copies of FNaF on PC were bought, just on PC, and 4 Million copies of Undertale in PC. Minecraft has sold over 200 Million copies. Sure, Arms has sold much less than even Undertale but still, people like it. FNaF, Undertale and Cuphead have a huge hatebase i don't know why. Minecraft has a small to none hatebase.
That's why Freddy won't get on Smash so soon.

I have a detail suggestion: If a foe's final stock is taken by Freddy's Final Smash, in the "Winner" screen afterward, the character's spot where they would be clapping is taken up instead by a slumped-over lifeless Freddy suit with some body part or article of the trapped character visible (Sephiroth's hair poking out from beneath the helmet, Mario's hat on top of the head, Sonic's Sneakers lying next to the suit, etc.

1. The glitch mazes are too hard

I can really imagine his eyes going to black with white dots every time he does an attack, and then reverting back to normal quickly after. This character, while unlikely, would be a pretty cool addition to Smash.

No lie, Freddy would really fill the niche of having a horror/scary themed character. Sure, he's a villain (perspectively), and we do have characters from horror/scary games (the Belmonts, Luigi, Link, Kirby, and Mario in certain stages). However, a character that's strictly from a horror-survival where the objective isn't to win but rather not lose is very different for Smash. Bayonetta may have some horror themes, witches, demons, and horrific looking angels, but Bayonetta can fight them with her own supernatural powers. You can't fight against the animatronics. That's something Smash really doesn't have. Whether or not FNAF has the staying power needed to really be considered "iconic" as many other games Smash represents, but, I will say this: FNAF is a marvel in independant game making.
It's not often that a game comes along that inspires so many other people to try game making themselves. I think that, more than anything, should be celebrated. Not to mention, Freddy does, surprisingly, lend himself to multiple game genres, if his RPG spinoff and the minigames are any indication. Freddy and FNAF is the result of good advertising and a solidly fun and scary, albeit simple, game. Sometimes, to make a good game, you don't need a whole lot. A good atmosphere and solid mechanics are it.
Inhaled Corn I hate to say it, but Freddy is easily one of the best choices for a horror game monster to be in Smash. Most have designs that might be a bit too disturbing, but Freddy isn’t so creepy. It’s kinda like how the franchise was really the intro to horror for a lot of the kids of this generation. Him or Issac from Binding of Issac would honestly be really good first dips into the water for Smash and horror.

I don’t think the “Fear” in the moveset amount to anything, since the main point of FNAF is it’s atmosphere. You are in a quiet room with very little tools to protect yourself as a menace tries to slowly approach and kill you. Once you are able to beat up that menace, it isn’t scary anymore. Especially when you are on pictochat and megalovania is playing in the background.

A cool idea for Freddy’s classic mode would be fighters who have a dark secret or history. If the next game has Joker in the base roster, the final battle would be against joker in a purple alt referencing purple guy. After being defeated, he respawns with the gold effect and rabbit hood to reference Springtrap.

If they had to choose a character from FNAF, I bet Bonnie would be the pick because Scott would likely choose him because he's, of course, the character that truly scared him the most while the first game was being made. Also, this happened in the ARMS reveal because Sakurai said that the ARMS developer chose Min Min themselves. So it's likely that Scott would get to choose the character, which would likely be Bonnie, knowing the history of the original games' development.
If Bonnie did get in over Freddy, I could imagine a taunt where he takes off his head to reveal his endoskeleton head. Just like the one revealed in the trailer of the first game.
I feel his recovery could be a little more creative instead of a teleport.

Well, here's my take (Warning: Incredibly long.): What If Springtrap Was In Smash?
Bio: Springtrap is the main antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's 3. Springtrap was once a man named William Afton, who was responsible for the series of child murders at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. Before FNaF 3, he tried to cover his tracks by dismantling the original 4 animatronics, only for the spirits of the children to corner him in the secret Safe Room. Desperate, William hid in a springlock suit to fool the spirits, only to be crushed to death by the malfunctioning springlocks. 30 years later in FNaF 3, he is reborn as Springtrap. Springtrap will be a super heavyweight character. He'd have 2 jumps, and he would be able to crawl.
[The A Attacks]
Jab: Springtrap will have a 3 hit jab where he'll violently punch forward one at a time and the third hit will have him slash an 8-bit knife forward.
Dash Attack: Springtrap slides to a halt and Phantom Mangle cartwheels slightly forward.
Side Tilt: The head of Phantom Chica appears to peck forward.
Up Tilt: Springtrap stabs upward with his 8-bit knife.
Down Tilt: Springtrap sweep kicks forward.
Side Smash: Springtrap thrusts his hands forward and a small empty head of Spring Bonnie appears and blasts confetti all around itself before the head explodes in a cloud of screws.
Up Smash: Springtrap will swing his 8-bit knife upwards. This Up Smash only hits above Springtrap, but hits HARD and does come out pretty fast.
Down Smash: Springtrap raises both of his arms to the air, and 2 storm clouds appear above them. The storm clouds then strikes lightning on both sides of Springtrap.
Neutral Aerial: Phantom Mangle appears in front of Springtrap and spins rapidly.
Forward Aerial: The head of Phantom Foxy appears and bites forward.
Back Aerial: The head of Phantom Balloon Boy appears behind Springtrap and screams behind him, releasing sound waves to hurt foes.
Up Aerial: The claw of Phantom Puppet swings upwards above Springtrap.
Down Aerial: Springtrap will do a stall-then-fall double foot stomp.
[The Grabs]
Grab: Springtrap grabs with both of his arms.
Pummel: Springtrap headbutts the foe.
Forward Throw: Golden Freddy's head will appear behind Springtrap and flies into the foe, launching them forward.
Back Throw: Springtrap shoulder throws the foe into the ground, sending them backwards.
Up Throw: Springtrap will break the foe's back over his knee, sending them into the air.
Down Throw: Springtrap will knock the foe into the ground, and will stab them with his 8-bit knife.
[The B Attacks]
Neutral Special (Jumpscare): Springtrap will scream forward and any foe directly in front of him will take small DMG as well as stunned, with the stun lasting longer the higher the foe's DMG is. And the effect will be double in effect when you hit a foe with it from behind. It's exactly like Freddy's Down Special.
Side Special (Springlock Snatch): Springtrap will fly straight forward with his hand out. If he makes contact with a foe, he will grab them and violently places a Golden Freddy head on the foe's head. The Golden Freddy head then activates its springlocks, dealing large DMG to the foe while stunning them. The head also does a number on shields.
Up Special (Camera Switch): Springtrap will teleport behind a static screen. It deals no DMG, can be sent into any direction, and will put Springtrap into free fall.
Down Special (Plushtrap): Springtrap reaches back and places Plushtrap, a nightmarish plush version of Spring Bonnie, on the ground. If a foe goes near Plushtrap, he will quickly jump towards them. If Plushtrap catches the foe, it will bite down on the side of them viciously, dealing small DMG. Plushtrap will be attached to the foe for 5 seconds before falling off and returning to Springtrap. Foes can shake off Plushtrap by dodge rolling or attacking. One more thing: If foes look away from Plushtrap, he will run towards the foe until he, catches them, or they look at him.
[The Final Smash}
[Phantom Fright]
Springtrap will release a blast of electricity all around himself. If a foe gets hit by the electricity, they will be sent to the office of Fazbear's Fright, where the lights go out, a red light can be seen going off and on, and a beeping noise can be heard. When the lights come back on, all of the Phantom animatronics and Springtrap will appear and they will jumpscare the player one after another, with Springtrap dealing the finishing blow and dealing massive DMG and knockback. If the foe is over 87% of DMG, they will be KO'D.
[The Other Stuff]
For Colors:
Springtrap's Default will have him in his olive green color.
His 1st alt will have Springtrap in a golden color. This is in reference to Spring Bonnie, the suit that William used to lure the children and the same suit he died in.
His 2nd alt will have Springtrap in a purple color. This is in reference to Purple Guy, William Afton's persona in the 8-bit minigames in the FNaF series.
His 3rd alt will have Springtrap's head be white and his body black. This is in reference to The Puppet, the animatronic responsible for giving life to the 4 original animatronics to stop William.
His 4th alt will have Springtrap in a pink color with a pink belly. This is in reference to Mangle, the toy version of Foxy who was destroyed by kids.
His 5th alt could have Springtrap's ears be reddish, his head white, a white body, and red feet. This is in reference to Circus Baby, the animatronic William built to capture children that then got possessed by his daughter.
His 6th alt will have Springtrap in a light blue body with a white belly. This is in reference to Toy Bonnie.
His 7th alt will be an alternate costume. He'll become Glitchtrap from FNaF VR. Also, Glitchtrap will have different Taunts and Victory Animations.
and Glitchtrap's alt will have him be completely transparent and green. This references his appearance when you first see him.
For the Stage Intro:
Springtrap will be in a sitting slouched position. Then he'll start trembling violently and then stands up and enters fighting stance.
For Taunts:
Springtrap's 1st taunt will will have him pry his mouth open with his hands to reveal William Afton's mummified head inside it.
Springtrap's 2nd taunt will have him just stare menacingly at the camera.
And Springtrap's final taunt will have him sit in his slouched position and trembles violently. Springtrap will continue this until he moves or gets hit.
Glitchtrap's 1st taunt will have him put his finger to his mouth and shushes the screen.
Glitchtrap's 2nd taunt will have him wave to the screen.
And Glitchtrap's final taunt will have him give a come over here gesture with his hand.
For the Victory Animations:
Springtrap's 1st animation will have him with his back turned to the camera, then he turns his head to glare at the camera.
His 2nd could have nothing on screen, then Springtrap pops up from the left of the screen.
And Springtrap's final animation will have him violently grab the camera and say, "I always come back!"
Glitchtrap's 1st animation will have him adjust his bow tie and take a bow.
His 2nd will have him do his dance at the end of FNaF VR.
And his final animation will have him reach his hand out.
And that does it for What If Springtrap Was In Smash!

Regardless of anyone’s opinion on FNAF, it is still iconic and important to gaming history. It was what popularized indie horror, even more than Slender and Amnesia, and I think Freddy does deserve a spot in Smash.
If they made a Funtime Freddy alt costume, he could throw Bon Bon as his Neutral Special, instead of the microphone
And Maybe for his final smash, instead of him coming to jumpscare the Opponent during the power outage, it should have Ennard jumpscare them instead.

Basically it's the alternate route instead of getting yourself scooped, you just survive until 6am while ennard is on the prow, and one of the ways to die is if the power runs out, he jumpscares you.
