Thanks Alex, as always good stuff.
Your rock brother!
Oh wow that is reeeally nice. I own a basecamp 2 and love it. one of the best kep secrets. they are a little hard to find due to demand especially after the overland expo. This color with the add ons are so much better!
review the solo version of this tent please
Wasn’t sure how dark it was on the inside from their website… thank you for this video. I think I’m definitely going to purchase this one!
Awesome, congrats on your upcoming new tent!
Have been using the V2 of the tent for just over 9 months now and love it. Did a detailed review on our channel and about to film an updated one. Love what they are doing at Overlandish
Just subscribed to your channel! 100% agree, these tents rock!
@@4wdTALK awesome thank you so much!
Will 2 cots fit in this tent?
Super helpful. Based on your review I just preordered an OD green color. Currently I’m using a Canvas White Duck Regatta but was looking for something that is free standing and maybe even a tad smaller and lighter. Thanks for the review
Glad it was helpful! When you get it, let me know what you think of it!
Legend has it that Goldfinch just reached 8k subscribers.
Nice report. I am debating on ordering this tent or a canvas tent from Springbar. Have you ever compared the two types and what are your thoughts? What is the benefit of having it so dark inside? Many people like the inside to be lighted naturally during the day.
Great video. Great content. I only see version 2 on their website. Is the version 2.1 currently available?
Thank you! Look for the olive green one. Not sure if it's officially called 2.1.
Glad you added weight and size. It’s my height at 5 ft and at 59 lbs too heavy for me to carry. 😢Also wouldn’t be able to pop up the top. Looks great though!
Friend for what it's worth, the top pops up crazy easy
You talk more about the colour than if I will get soaked in the rain.
Sorry pal, I speak about aspects that stand out to me on the tent. I have yet to be in this exact tent when it was raining. So I wouldn't feel right speaking about that. Now that said, you can get the tent with a rain fly that will take care of your concerns about getting wet. Hope this helps friend.
I bought the same tent taking it out camping for new years I got the black stealth tent I’m kinda regretting not getting the olive green one now 😂 but still I agree it’s an amazing tent can’t wait to use it
Friend I hear you, this green is amazing. That said, your black one is pretty bad a$$ as well!
I`ll be getting mine on the 5th it`d be great if you could report back your impressions after your maiden New years trip. Happy New Year!
I just got mine a few days ago, also olive green, I set it up once and overall I’m very happy. My one concern was how tight the door zippers were. Also I saw daylight coming thru a few seams where the walls meet the roof.
Congrats! Door zippers will likely stretch a tad after some use. You might want to take photos of the daylight and send to manufacture. Not sure how much are you talking about, and frankly they would be the one to advise on that. All I can say is mine is pitch black inside.
Seams like the oversized footprint would channel water under the tent when it's raining.
You can roll up the footprint if it starts to rain. As I understand this footprint was designed for the best of both worlds.
For a heater setup, would you run the battery in the tent and use one of the bottom openings for both battery and control cable?
That's exactly what I do. Especially during winter months where snow or rain might occur.
That green is nice, how does the rain fly attach to that tent?
The cords on the rainfly just have a bungie loop that goes over the hub points on the outside. Its a sturdy connection and super easy to attach.
What size diesel heater will heat that? Don't you have one of those Ecoflow Wave 2's? Have you tried heating it with that thing?
I would suggest a 4kw Planar portable heater, that will do the trick. Yes I do have Wave 2 and have not tried heating this tent with it.
Be ok to be good for summer even if ya don't air-conditioned it with enough windows should allow enough air
Agree, there's plenty of air flow in this tent
Nice microphone
I will stick with the Kodiak spring bar 6man for the same price.
Hey bud, to each their own. Thanks for stopping by!
What brand of rooftop tent would you recommend?
What sort of budget you working with?
Ie this thing capable of having a woodstove?
Not without some modifications. You would have to cut hole in side or sacrifice one of the port windows for stove pipe. I imagine some sort of fire heat shield along the wall and floor where you have the woodstove. I'm just speaking out loud and not recommending doing anything without doing your own research and factoring in risks.
You make 59LBS look like 25! Seriously… it does seem like 60 pounds of deadweight might be hard to pack?
ha ha ha! You rock buddy. Actually this is one of the easier tents I own to pack away. Come to think of it, for it's size to weight ratio, its the lightest.
they make a 'solo' version that is 30lbs, i just ordered mine tonight
