The first one works for soups and soup like foods since the fat often rises to the top of the broth/juice. The cold makes the fat congeal and can either stick to the item or be skimmed out easily.
And with that said, a large frozen spoon would do the same and be free because for some odd reason, we all own giant metal spoons of some configuration 😂😂😂

The magnet uses its cold so fat sticks to itself + soups, stews gravy ( liquids ) testing it on bacon wasn't the best choice.
I would try it with a stew or gravy 😃
It works only on the principle that there must be soup, and as you know, in soup, fat is at the very top and this gadget will work

Okay Tyler I love how you approach a lot of things with what feels like the thickest amount of skepticism possible but, the fat magnet I believe it works on the principal that because the metal is cold it's going to make the fat congeal on the metal plate but I don't think you gave it time to work properly.

Yes. It's meant to get fat out of soups or stock. I have seen this done successfully with a large ice cube.
But I have seen actual chefs test this device as well, and it still doesn't really work. It heats up too quickly, and ends up doing almost nothing.
He is the absolute worst person for reviewing products, but I still watch for the entertainment lol.

no. bluetooth ear pieces were already a thing by 2012. in the 00s it was pretty common to make fun of the dudes in suits walking around with their bluetooth ear piece talking on the phone, there was even tons of people who would be wearing them while driving. which is funny because now everyone has bluetooth earphones and often uses them to talk on the phone.
Yeah such a weird thing to make fun of it started near 07-08 when Bluetooth exploded in the common market even a TV show with time travel made fun of it.
@@erueka6 it was mostly because it was these annoying finance bros who would walk around talking loudly, and if you tried talking to them, they'd barely acknowledge you and just tap their ear piece as a way to signify they're on a call. one of the most common tropes would be them going to a store, and then be on a call, and when the cashier needed to talk to them to ask them something, they'd just tape the ear piece

CZcams was launched in 2005, the first iphone came out in 2007, video was certainly a good option in 2010.
The ipod nanos DID have a screen, and the 5th gen up even had cameras. You're thinking of the ipod shuffles, they were glorified bag clips that played music lol

yeah the shuffle was shit. i had a friend that had one in highschool. i just had a regular mp4 player, which was basically a nano knockoff. if i wanted to listen to music, i could just go down the list and pick whichever song i wanted. if she wanted to listen to a specific song, she had to keep pressing next until she found it
I had a Microsoft Kin One back in the day. Kinda round with a slide out keyboard. It had Zune as a media player and I know everyone dogs on Zune, but I loaded that sucker with almost all of Dark Tower audiobooks and had a grand ole' time on a road trip to Pennsylvania. 32 hours driving time round trip.
I love and still use my shuffle, it has a very good audio chipset. As for not being able to choose songs, that was the point wasn’t it. You can’t really call it junk when it does exactly what is supposed to do, and Apple never tried to portray it in any other way. You knew what it was when you bought it.

Right!? Razors were like 2004-ish. I had a bluetooth ear piece in '09 and they had already peeked and declined in popularity. I felt like a douche using it. I think it's in the bottom of my junk drawer lol.

I have a nocturnal tonic chronic epilepsy and during the night is when my anxiety gets the highest and for some reason Tyler's videos are the only videos I can fall asleep to and not have my anxiety super high. But that also means that I have watched almost every single Tyler tube video and with his posting schedule I just been rewatching his videos over and over again. It's something about his voice that calms me. Thank you Tyler! You have helped prevent so many seizures!

How the fat magnet is supposed to work is thusly . The cold metal on the bottom is to harden the fatty substance on the top of soups and stews , there is a method I was taught in culinary school by using a chilled serving spoon to solidify the grease and fats on the top of the soups or stews and easily skim them away using a chilled serving spoon . So the fat magnet is a single purpose use for that same thing pretty much.
Hard to tell if Tyler really doesn't get how the 'fat magnet' works or he's just trolling us... again. 😄

I use a big ladle to skim the grease. I think the idea of the grease magnet was it being cold the grease would congeal on the metal. But as it gets warm as you dip it in the food, it wouldn't work anyway.

The "idea" behind the fat magnet is that the "grease/fat" is hot and the "magnet" is cold...so the fat sticks to it as it hardens due to the magnet being cooler. Yes it's completely crap and useless but that was the idea.

I had an Android phone in 2010 and video worked fine on it. I had the Droid Incredible, also branded the HTC Incredible.
Also, the iPod Nano had a screen. The iPod Shuffle didn't.

I have an old Home Theatre system that I still use today. It has a DVD and VHS player built into it. I use it as my sound system for my room and it works great. I have not used DVD's or VHS in years, but I do have them when the time comes and I want to use it!
The "fat magnet" clearly says to be used on stews, gravy and other liquid food. Tyler tests it on bacon... genius.

For the fat magnet, the principle use is for pots of soups and stews where fat rises the surface….the idea is the frozen fat magnet gets dipped into the soup or stew and the icey cold helps to oils to bond to the cold metal surface and slightly gel/solidify. But for it to really be test well you likely need to get most of the metal into the liquid…and not just hover it over to the top.
I actually found an older news video of the fat magnet, and it proved the exact same results you did, that a paper towel is better and it also showed a simple (metal) spoon does the exact same thing as the fat magnet

The iPod nano had a screen and came in different like neon colors. The iPod shuffle is the one that had no screen just forward/back play/pause button that had like a clip on the back to clip on your shirt or backpack strap.
