Glad to see you back on You Tube. I run a single IDF 4 clone on my 2007cc motor on my 2967 beetle and it runs great. I change my oil, adjust my valves and clean my air filter every 3000 miles. A single carb makes a great daily driver.
Nice. I agree single carb best daily driver. But let me see what I could do with these idfs, see if I can make them daily drivers. If I can, this will be a revolution for everybody running idfs.
IDA's I learned are for racing IDF street. Have a pair of 40IDF's on my new 2110 so I'm going down this rabbit hole. Had Kardon's for years but that was a 1835.
Exactly. That's the reason my son didn't want to go with IDFS on the blue bug 2234CC motor and decided to go with the 39 mm PIC3 stock looking carb for the very same reason.
Never thought about doing something like that again. But you are right. I actually have more information that was not mentioned on those older videos. Thank you very much for a great idea. 🙂
I am anxiously looking forward to your "fix" of the idle circuit video and how it translates to the EMPI HPMX (one to one?). I am finishing a new 1776 build and am planning to install new dual 40 HPMX Gen. 4.0s. I have diligently watched and heeded ALL of your other IDF and HPMX Videos. I would like to take any possible precautions and do (or at least evaluate) any mods prior to installation. THANX and keep the GREAT videos coming!!!!
I think empi did that with the new cards they just came out with. But I couldn’t afford their prices for them. So I will struggle with my clones like you. Good video.
Yeah I saw that on the empty CZcams channel. They cost an arm and a leg. If my mod works out pretty good and it looks fairly easy to do this should work out for you and everybody else with IDFs very well.
I’d think a OEM paper style filter would not shed bits of jet plugging material. But you’d need to make a central air box and link it to top-hat covers over each carb. Similar to the expensive (carbon) air boxes sold in Germany.
It's coming but I got to be honest with you I'm probably going to hold off on the information for several months simply to make sure that it's a reliable mod.
Sorry, but I disagree. They are daily drivers!! I have dual 44 idf's on my 1776cc. Daily drove it 700 miles a week to work and tech school for over a year with no real issues. Kept on top of maintenance, and got them in sync properly.

After a year running 40idf webers, i switched to a 37pict again and its great.

@@Motor7710 also the mpg is better, and coldstart, idle, reaibility. But like you mentioned the idf is fun and for racing or running not all day.
Can you do a compilation of the jetting and adjustments you made to to your idfs. For the 2056 jetting . Enjoy all of your videos.

Let us know how it works out with the IDF's.👍

@Motor7710
Sounds good.
The carbs are not the problem, the air cleaners are! Put proper air cleaner elements on them! FIXED!!
Muy buenos tus videos estarían súper bien en español
So how'd that rubber get past the inlet filter at the carburator?I'm thinking dirt came in thru air not fuel?
What is the make of your "sucker" . Where did you buy?
