@@benzicol iirc It's because the guy that made it never updated it for NV because the engine is too difficult and frustrating to deal with (not that I blame him. Because for someone that makes ENB compatible with a shitton of other games, giving up on one is saying something). There's a few decent, or even good presets out there, but the majority of them are fucking awful. And even then I still never found the perfect one besides the minimalist ones, usually I end up tweaking the settings and colors myself anyway because it never looks right
The goal here is to keep the game looking like New Vegas so I tried to stay as close to vanilla as possible while still upgrading the graphics. Also keep in mind im using the lowest res files possible. Leave a like for 50 mod showcases in 8 minutes with all links in the desc. I love this grainy kinda retro 3D look it almost look like fallout 1 and 2 cut scenes which are just mesmerizing.

@@hannibalb8276 New Vegas isn't really built with that in mind. The game slows down noticeably if there are too many 4k textures at a time. So it goes without saying, that textures pack are really taxing.
And on a personal note, the amount of storage space needed for them just isn't worth it. They are not much better than 2k, besides being just barely sharper and clearer.
@@hannibalb8276 even with the RAM utilization patch, the engine up to that point wasn't made to deal with that much data at once, so no matter the rig it's run on, it's gonna get slow downs/missing assets so it's not worth it.
I've used NMC and OJO max quality with 4k rocks in the past with good results. The only difference is for the rest covered by individual mods, you have to just scale the texture size to fit the model size, so for a spoon retex maybe 512 or 1k max. Game ran pretty smooth

I’m personally not crazy about many of these changes but I really respect how much effort you put into these mod packs and videos! It’s amazing to see the modding community for FNV as a console-only player!

This might be a sin but I just used enhanced textures enb and the natural weathers and sky’s and the game looks pretty damn good
Translation: I'm a console player that can't mod my game so I will pretend the vanilla textures look better because I can't mentally accept that I'm missing out.
The bonus section is unironically one of the most important parts because you can mod all the landscape and guns to look better all you want but these smaller things are everywhere and will constantly break your immersion no matter where you go if letf unadressed. There are few more mods that i would love to see one day: One that replaces all NVs misc items with their Fallout 4 counterparts such as Teddy Bears or Nuka Cola bottles and the one that updates 3rd person animations to make you the player as well as NPCs move in more smooth and realistic looking manner instead of how they do in vanilla which due to age admitiedly are kinda stiff and robotic. First one isn't that big of a deal but since the goal is to modernize NV then we might as well update the smaller things to match the new artstyle and aesthetics introduced in Fallout 4 since this is how Fallout looks like now and the second mod idk if it's even possible due to the engine limitations, but if it is then it would be a massive addition to NV since these outdated and clunky 3rd person animations always stick out like a sore thumb in a heavily modded game with modern graphics.

Tbh the FO4 aesthetic clashes with new Vegas hard. I think just about everything from 4 actually looks worse in news vegas
The only things i would add was instead use Dragbody's overhauls (yeah, i know, i also love those) who will make some unique chareacters better but the PC and procedured generate NPCs looking dislocated, use New Vegas Redesigned 2 and Mojave Styles instead, i use on my actual modlist and i like of the results, also recommend put a Reshade on top, is like a non-shit lite version of the ENB, it makes my game looks sober and bit darker with some FXs.

@@lucaspereirahmj For Clarification: NVR3 is really off balance when you install lighting mods over it or change up the vanilla lighting too much. Look at the mod page for examples, some things look over saturated, and just bad.

Just in case people are confused about his antipathy towards ENB for New Vegas, ENB hasn't really been maintained for FNV. As such there are some issues with it that, generally, makes Reshade a better option if you want something like that for the game.
Also, unless you're familiar with xEdit, I would recommend a variation on Fallout New Vegas redesigned, combined with Improved Male Body - Seamless and Type4 Female body (these get rid of neck seams). Drag's NPC Overhaul is, undoubtedly, the best looking NPC modification, it does come with some inconvenient aspects like companions gear not being able to be modified (Cass's hat for example), as well as some other bits and pieces.
This video made me reinstall Fallout New vegas... Like for real, I had an issue trying downloading some mods and accidentally uninstall all of them. I got so angry to a point of uninstall FNV and keep with my F4 modded, with around 150+ mods. (My FNV had 70+ iirc) But then i saw this video, i decided to do that Viva New Vegas guide and it truly made my game far more enjoyable.

Bruh I do not know how or why but installing these mods in this order is the best my game has ever looked or ran on win10. I played so many quest mods without crashes. I used to get crashes all the time but I dealt with it because this is my fave game of all time that still stands thanks to the modders and people like you showing off the mods and what order to install them is a blessing. The least I can do is give you sub. Thank you again!
I’m glad to hear it! These mods shouldn’t cause any performance issues if you grab the 1k textures for all of them when available. I make sure to test the mod list before releasing the video.
I have a pretty high quality pc 3080 and high end cpu but it crashes for me constantrlty in this order and without mods idk if someone can look at it but its being miserable for me ive never played fnv modded cuz this always happenes@@Mutant_Mods
Great video I’d personally recommend dragbodys 10 year anniversary pack over imports from the commonwealth but to each their own.

Anybody know how to fix black characters faces being too dark when using Dragbody mods? I have changed bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1 in all 3 inis, ran Archive Invalidation, and messed around with load order stuff for hours. All other characters look fine, only black characters faces are way too dark. TIA!

memory crash every 5 minutes even with 4gb patch, NVAC, NVT and lowest res texture packs
Tips from someone who invested too much time into mods, and who probably knows all mods on the nexus uploaded from 2014 to 2019.
-Use Mod Organizer 2
-Use unofficial patch NVSE
-Use YUP
-Use Stewie's Engine Tweaks
-Use Fast Weapon Lag Fix
-NVAC only works 50/50
-Playtest after every 5th new installed mod
-New Game instead of fast start savefile mysteriously makes the game more stable
-there are many performance or stability "fix" mods, you have to find out which work the best/work at all for you
-also use New Vegas Tick Fix
-when using texture packs, look if you have to generate/install a new LOD
-Check loadorder with LOOT
-It pays to look into a mods comments or bugs section sometimes.
There are many more, but seeing your dilemma, these came to mind right now. Hope atleast one of them can help you.
@@gametribez3304 My game wast mostly stable with 200+ mods, reshade and TTW before I added in some newer graphical mods from this video. I've used the lowest res packs, used LOD gen, have tick fix, 4gb patch, stewietweaks, nvac all on a new game with YUPTTW on mo2 and it either freezes or gets a memory crash every time I try to leave goodsprings, I have no idea whats causing it. Tried using LOOT to sort load order and it didnt change a thing so I'm just stumped at this point
@@whatisreddin7367 could be that your GPU or ram can't handle loading or rendering the textures, also the ttw devs said loot doesn't really work with ttw, you should also check the ttw incompatible mods list on their website for any mods that could be causing the crashing stuff
Edit: just skimmed over the incompatible mods list and remembered that EVE is incompatible with ttw, so try disabling that
Mine's also crashing. Have you found a way to solve it? I have only Viva New Vegas and this modlist installed. I found that NMC Texture Pack was causing my game to crash more often, thought that by disabling it i was going to solve it but nah.
Edit: NCM, Nut Vegas and Legacy Reborn all caused my game to crash, when i turned them off, my game didnt crash a single time. Legacy Reborn Cliffs caused my game some small stutter sometimes.

dragbodys npcs looks good but the lack of animations on their eyes is too much a deal breaker, plus a lot of the npcs have outfits that cant be looted by the player anymore so it makes the game less rewarding , good video

I know I'll be called a heretic for saying this, but I really enjoy using Fallout Character Overhaul 3.0, the lip movements and the rough skin look really good.

just felt like getting back into New Vegas and this is just what I needed.
Hey, this is a really good video. ENB isn't always worth it but if you want a very lightweight ENB with only the immersive and practical elements added to your game with ENB (such as Ambient Occlusion and Detailed Shadows as well as custom light emitters, minimized/eliminated flood lights and DOF - which isn't very necessary), all you needa' do is:
- put everything in the Wrapper Version folder in the latest version of ENB Binaries
- enable all (or preferred) settings except for Use Original Object Processing.
That Way you can have everything you want.
- You just need to enable Use Original Post Processing to retain the look you have.
I personally only have Ambient Occlusion, Detailed Shadows, Sun Rays, and Sun Glare. I also use the mod Get Lit without its required mod, as it works fine without it. For weather and lighting, I use the same thing as you but I also plan on getting ILO once I finish downloading the main mods that add worlds paces and buildings. For now I use the popular light version of the mod, which you likely have since it's part of Viva New Vegas' load order.
The only issue I have with ENB and my setting is the obvious shitty Anti Aliasing which was almost a deal breaker before I used my super lightweight ENB. With using the lightweight ENB, there seems to be more pros than cons but no AA is a pretty massive con and it almost made me not use ENB altogether. But my eyes don't respond well to a lack of shadows.
I have a feeling you've done what I've done but if you haven't let me know how it turns out.
P.S. - The settings that made me want to use ENB are the environment lighting setting for both outdoors and indoors. I'll also let you know if I find a way to achieve good AA with ENB as I know Gopher achieved that in the past with Fallout New Vegas. For now, I use FXAA found in Enhanced Shaders - ENB.
Enb is broken garbage for new vegas. Turning off object processing makes it worse cuz u keep 90% of the bugs and lose 90% of the graphical "upgrades"

I seriously think a sort of haze is needed because the ground clipping is too jaring which is also why i like to see the yellow haze because it mutes the sharpness. Maybe dynamic depth of field might help.
please help,, I tried installing Dragbody's NPC overhauls and such, but when I load my game, every character is a big exclamation mark, how did you download the mod? Please tell me step by step
Checked mod order? It can cause some problems. Also there can be conflicts between mods.

@@user-xs8vj4of4n wait, would Dragbody’s NPCs work with other armor mods? I reckon that’s the problem because I have some armor mods installed, when I get on my pc today I’m going to install them and then turn off every single other mod
@@entername4133 Yes it can cause problems, look at Dragbody's main page and look for compatibility patches for armor mods you use. If there's nothing for your mods... Well you'll need to drop Dragbody or armor mods, because the problem still occur, unfortunately.
I would highly recommend against any of Dragbody's mods, particularly his Gun Network ones as they contain meshes that are outright broken and can cause crashing. Use something like New Vegas Redesigned Revised, Brave New World or Character Expansions Revised for NPCs.
Even those mods will require extensive FNVEdit patching as character appearance overhauls are very incompatible with mods that also edit NPC records, so some extra work will be required if you want your mods to play nice with each other!

In parts of the Wasteland, especially off the road, there are these "seams" that are quite noticeable - such as a lump of soil being dark-brown in color while it is surrounded by light colored white sand (with no transition from the dark brown to the white sand). Even more jarring was a literal line separating a darker colored land and the lighter colored white-ish sand. I have NMC, Nutscape and Legacy Reborn Cliffs installed, are these "seams" naturally what happens when all these mods are combined?
Yeah when he says (just the roads) for legacy, I'm wondering if that means going into the contents post-download, you're supposed to delete everything except Roads & and higher positioned folders?

There is no such thing as a virus thats not purposefully manually installed. FBI backtracked all the viruses back in the 90's and put the devs in prison for a while. What people call viruses now are just trackers and spyware. Viruses completely and utterly disable your computer.

If you want a suggestion the honest hearts rocks in nuts landscapes are a bit too busy. I would recommend grabbing the honest hearts rock textures from "textures over time"
Amazing list. Updates the game in almost every way graphically with the tedious nature of ENB.
I don't love these mods, but the production quality on this video is amazing.
a mod i always use is "better loading screen" its a simple mod that adds varity to the loading screen and its always pleasing to the eye
I think a mix of these (with a few different choices to add more color to the scenery and compatibility with other mods), your Classic Fallout mods, mods adding in Prodlimen's creatures to vanilla & dlc, some gear from Fallout Tactics, and some of the large lore friendly Quest mods (NV Bounties, New California, Autumn Leaves, Boom to the Moon, Salt Lake Stories, maybe Beyond Boulder Dome)...would work well together ^^
Having some issues with the Nightstalker mod. I followed the instructions, as well as just ported it to MO2, but neither worked.
Managed to get it fixed. I was being retarded lol. Move your preferred textures to the main folder
I Followed Viva New Vegas guide Until the end of Bug Fixes Then I installed most of the mods in the modlist in order. but when I walk away from my location ingame it crashes. I think it has to do with NMCs textures, Nut Vegas. and mojave cliffs but without them the game doesnt look good. Anyone know a way to fix?
Edit: I removed NMCs textures, Nut Vegas, Mojave cliffs and went to the ncr prison but the game keeps crashing the moment I load my save now.

I'm probably alone in this opinion, but i like the dirty grunge look that new Vegas has. Thats not to say it couldnt use an overhaul, but i think most of these retextures look too clean and glossy.
Skyrim is clean and beautiful and ethereal. Fallout is dirty and broken and disgusting looking. Its what i, personally, love about the aesthetic

Sort of, a lot of the actual textures are improved. But some are just changes that don’t explicitly make the base game look better.

So I installed this list on top of the Viva New Vegas modlist and it crashes in the character creator. Any ideas on how to fix it?
I think I have fixed it. Either it was because like a complete novice I loaded both the ESM and ESP for the Legion Overhaul or because the creator was loading too many presets so I have opened the Dragbody esps in the geck and made all the added NPC races "unplayable"
Protip: Don't follow self appointed youtube "modding experts" -- this channel is notorious for being misinformed and all round sped when it comes to modding in NV

@Aiden Price i did and everythings running smooth and fine since I fixed the issue iw as having. A couple of the dragbody mods come with both esms and esps and you have to pick one or the other not both as i did like the moron i am. I did also edit all the dragbody esps in the geck to remove all the presets from the character creator because in my experience having too many o
presets in there causes ctds and i wasn't gunna use any of em anyway.
Hey, can you share your loading order? I would really appreciate it. I am trying to put these mods on top of Viva New Vegas but I constantly get a memory error. I will also try the Geck thing but still I wouldn't doubt my loading order if I was able to check it with yours.

I've seen a lot of mod videos but this is superb, I've installed all the mods recommended and it really brings fallout NV to 2023 standards.
Anyone else having problems with the BSP textures? Crashes my game, specifically when reentering Doc Mitchells house.

@@capitanct-115arc2 Not sure if it will help you, but I went back and reinstalled most of the mods, but went for the lowest quality. NV can't handle all these mods on the highest quality sadly.

A big problem I have on pc for me is LOD. For instance, helios one wouldn't actually load in for me unless I was a bit past Gibson scrap yard. It would've been non existence and an empty space of land anywhere else, this wasn't the only object it was similar with roads, billboards, bridges, buildings, ect. I've gone through the process of xLodGen and its completely removed the problem. I just wish I didn't have to go through such a process with the game, but big shoutout to all the creator vids i watched to help figure the tool out. (I still have a problem with rock formations fading into view in very noticeable ways, if anyone has suggestions or help with that it would be appreciated!)
I've been having this issue, where im using Legacy cliffs, but every 300 meters i walk i get this huge lag spike. where my game freezes for like 10 seconds. Im using NMC and Poco ojo. Might be that, but i've tried everything, switching out the textures manually and also shifting priority in Vortex. But nothing seems to do the trick. was there a any loading related issues on your end, or am i the idiot?
Praise this man for not relying on an ENB as ENB’s have an ABSURDLY high potential of just rendering the game unplayable wether it be stutters or game crashes every ten-fifteen minutes. I love you dear sir and beyond the homie way. Joking aside. Thank you. So. Much.
