I believe they painted the walls white in order to make the rooms brighter without have a light that takes a lot of power to use.
Most likely so and thanks for being here :)
I hope you have a great Fathers day. This video was part of my father's day so thank you both. 😊
Same to you!
I agree that they were painted white to make the lights more effective, reflect more light in the room off the wall and ceiling. They did the same with wooden sailing ships below deck to help the oil lamps by reflecting the light. Great video.
Yes most likely so and thanks so much for being here :)
When I bought my house in the early 80's , I found out it was originally a Quarry office built by a German engineer immigrated in the late 40's . He built what thought was a root cellar , funny thing was it had 90 degree entrance doors , poured ceiling and walls painted white. I always thought they were white because of how dark it was down there and didn't take much to light it up. Love the videos guys !
There you go , how interesting to read. Great house it must be :) Thanks Dave :)
Quarry office - explosives storage?
@@michaeltempsch5282 given the time range , 2 90 degree entrance openings would indicate radiation or explosive.
Happy Fathers Day HH. The white walls help with light, make the rooms feel larger, and so the Senior NCO knows that the troops have cleaned it😂 Sucha lovely view, and so many different bunkers and gun pits. Thank you for sharing with us. Stay safe and well my friends
Appreciated my friend and yes i do believe that was the purpose of having it in bright colors. We thank you and send our greetings from us :)
Happy Father's day and as always " Good Hunting "
Great video, thanks for sharing. Lots to look at in this area, look forward to the second video.
Glad you enjoyed it and more coming soon. WE thank you my friend for your great support and we shall share more with you :)
Excellent video of the positions HH. Not sure I want to be stationed there in the winter. Amazing that the roll plates are still stacked and not recycled. The Christmas tour was great. Stay safe and well both of you.
Yes what great details there are still out there. This place is very interesting to explore and EE loved it he says. More to come and thanks my friend :)
First, Happy Father's Day, HH! I think they were painted white to improve visibility. So many things to see here!!!❤
Thanks so much Cynthia and that is most likely why yes. Great place and by the way we have a surprise for you coming soon :) Thanks.
@@WW2HistoryHunter Thank you so much!!!❤️
Awesome location! Thank you for saving history.
Great location with fun placements and a spectacular bunker or food storage under the long gone barracks. Thank history, hunter, and Eagle Eye's.
HH and EE i hope you guys enjoyed your father's day. Thanks for your dedication in researching and exploring WW2 historical sites and sharing your travels with us guys and gals on CZcams. Travel safe.
Appreciated and greetings from us :)
Crazy place & Happy Father's Day !!!
Thank you and greetings from us :)
With all those guns lined up like that, nothing would have been able to move on the water without being seen, and challenged. Love the way the white walls, in the bunkers, are still looking fairly bright, and clean, despite the farmers rubbish, and that little MG bunker was so interesting. The noise inside with the MG's firing would have been ear splitting in itself, but, with the guns firing nearby, at the same time, you wouldn't even be able to think straight. Shame the farmers have left so much rubbish, and junk in, and around, those bunkers, and gun emplacements. That area would be so interesting to metal detect! Thank you guys, for sharing this fascinating location! Looking forward to seeing what else was there, in part 2! Cheers to you both!
Yes they locked the area in you could say. Loved this high detailed location and more to come my friend :)
Yes Happy Fathers day and another awesome video!! Cant wait for part 2
Thanks so much and greetings from us :)
Hello and thanks for showing this outpost. A lot of fire power indeed for that area. That last area you showed was pretty interesting. Whether it was for some type of storage, additional living quarters(because of the windows), who knows. It was great to see it and with an original WW 2 barrel! Thanks again for taking us. The area was great to see as well. Take care
yes a awesome location and you will see some great details in part 2 my friend. Thanks and be safe out there :)
Do love these coastal artillery sites! Will be looking forward to part 2!
They are such interesting places and we love to share them with you. Thanks so much and more to come :)
Excellent video with many great features. I often wonder what the German military thought when they built all these positions along the Atlantic Wall and many never saw action and they didn’t stop the Allied invasion. The white paint was used to help with lighting in the otherwise dark conditions in these bunkers. I wonder if the foundation Eagle Eyes found was not a barrack but a kitchen to serve the troops there. Always a surprise to see how big some of these underground positions are. Keep up the great explorations.
it might very well have been the mess hall Anthony. Exciting place and so glad we could share that. Thanks from us and more to come :)
Happy Father's Day HH. What a location, a lot going on here. Can't wait to see part 2. Hope the Challenge trip is going well, stay safe out there my friends.
Thank you my friend and we are working hard to come back with great stories to share my friend. Thanks for your great support :)
Well, another great video. i think the last bunker would make a good winter home by the sea.
I think so too and thanks for being here :)
What an interesting place and the scenery is so very beautiful. It is a shame the farmers put trash in some of the bunkers. It is history for crying out loud and should be preserved for all to see. A little respect. EE is very agile and able to climb to many high structures. So much more to see there. Thanks EE & HH. ❤
Cool adventure EE & HH, keep going 👍🏻👍🏻
See you soon for part 2
🇬🇧🤝🏻🇳🇴
Thanks 👍
It’s clear that a lot of thought and planning went into the structures and the way they integrated into their environments. Thank you both for a great exploration.
Absolutely!
Interesting site! The different gun emplacements were fascinating. Loved you finding the metal sheets and knowing exactly where and how they were used. The white walls were covered well by earlier viewers.
Great explore and thanks so much my friend :)
Fantastic history hunter and eagle eyes👍👍👍💜💜💜
Would not want to be in that room with 5 MGs!!
Cool location guys, some firepower right there back in the day.
Thanks so much my friend :)
Hi there another great vid the Germans built some incredible bunkers wow keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
Wow!! Really enjoyed this episode. Incredible!! Thank you Eagle Eyes 😊🦅👍
Appreciated and greetings from us.
Hi,
Here were six 155 mm French GPF guns (taken), under the German designation 15.5cm K.418 (f), mounted on pivoting platforms (schwere Drehbettung mit Pivotzapfen).
You showed us this type of artillery piece during the video about Kvalvik.
Superb Marine battery, great video.
Thanks for watching.
Such an awesome location. Thats a lot of firepower they had along the coast. That last bunker was pretty cool. Maybe it was underneath the kitchens. Who's to know now? They used white paint to brighten it up since he bunkers themselves were so dark and sometimes underground. Thanks for another amazing explore. Take care and stay safe. 💖💯
Painted white to make it brighter and feel more like home? i think...
Most likely so and thanks so much for being here :)
Super start to the 4 week tour great video guys have fun and stay safe and please keep up with all the news with what is happening in your part of the world.
Thank you! Will do!
Another very interesting Hitler's Atlantic Wall military defensive. I could understand why the Germans would want to have control and protect from allies. Probably white walls as not as much light is needed to illuminate. I do that in my smaller rooms. (My Fem Den). Those bayonets, 20 MM, and Panzer tracts will look awesome when restored. You are learning many valuable skills from your father, EE. I have a feeling you celebrate Father's Day in November. I know in Germany it is May as I have friends from there. Anyway no matter what day you celebrate, you are an awesome Father HH and deserve the best no matter what day it is. :) Another amazing place. Thank you for taking us there HH and EE. Much appreciated. Keep smiling. 🤗❤
Yes white was a nice trick to make it brighter in there. Thanks for your great support Girl and keep smiling :)
Makes the room lighter.
Great idea and thanks Robert :)
Looking forward to seeing more history. 😎✌️👍❤️
Its to help with lighting because you're in a bunker under ground
Good to know and thanks for watching.
Hi HH & EE,
Another interesting vlog, the soldiers were indeed trained a lot in operating the guns.
The white walls serve to lighten the room.
Partly because they often used fluorescent paint on the walls when the lighting went out.
Indeed it does and we thank you Oma for your great support :)
Happy Father’s Day history Hunter!
Appreciated my friend :)
Another amazing video
Appreciated my friend :)
@@WW2HistoryHunter The videos are amazing and I love learning about Ww2
@@briangenson2265 So glad to read that my friend :)
@@WW2HistoryHunter Happy Father's Day
They paint the walls white to improve visibility
ok i see and thanks for being here with us :)
They painted the walls white in order to have more light in the bunker. Otherwise you need more lighting. It's also easier to detect mold and other dangerous things that can start growing on the walls.
i see and thanks for watching.
🏆⭐🎖️💪🙏
Thank you for sharing this
Amazing shelters. History is interesting. Thank you 🙏🏻
Appreciated my friend :)
Another brilliant location, once again EE and HH shine a light on hidden WW2 history.Hpe you had a brilliant Fathers day HH,you certainly deserve it.😀👍
Appreciated my friend and loved to share this place with you. Take care and keep smiling :)
Thanks!
Thank you kindly Elanor and we appreciate your kindness. Hope you will have a great summer out there :)
To help make it brighter when the lights are on or when the moon is bright you may not need the lighting on !
Indeed so and thanks for being here :)
Wow another great video it's amazing how much stuff they built I was noticing that egale eyes looks taller now and is doing a fantastic job you better watch out he will be taking your job lol. 😂😂😂
H
I'm learning so much from you I luv it
Tha KS for doing this for everyone. I wish I had the extra money to seen you to help out with your travels
Yes Gary , such great times out there. EE is really growing so fast and getting very tall now. Thanks from us :)
Yes I believe they painted it white to brighten the room. I work in auto body, white is the cheapest paint to make. There is no pigment.
There you go and thanks for comment and for watching.
Have you ever been to Priwall/Travemunde? Guess what it was in WW2... an airfield... Still just green out there.
Well perhaps in the future. Thanks for watching.
5:20 White colour reflects light. Even a candle gives u enough light to read a book then. Sometimes power goes out, you have to see sth. then.
Most likely so and thanks for watching my friend :)
I wonder if the island fortifications are more intact. Have you ever reached out to the locals to see if you can get across to them?
Well we might show more later. Thanks.
@@WW2HistoryHunter Ahhh ok, so you did then, haha!! I have to say, you and EE are now part of my weekly routine on YT. Almost like watching a favourite TV programme as a youngster!! Keep it up lads!!
for fuel on your upcoming trip!
That is very kind of you my friend and we really do appreciate that. Such great kindness and will come in very handy on the tour. Thank you from us and we wish you a great and fun summer :)
perhaps they painted it white to ad light to the room .
Yes that must be it Thanks.
I believe they paint it white, so it is easier and more visible for them to write their stock, calculations paintings and other things on the walls...😁
Most likely so and thanks :)
Hi! :D
Thanks my friend :)
there was a whale in that water or something moving around at the beginning
Yes we did see that as well. Thanks for watching.
how do you find the locations of those places?
Lots of work involved i guess. Thanks.
@@WW2HistoryHunter do jou juse any site or app?
👍🏻🍻
👋😊👍
Thanks my friend :)
Maybe because the color white gives the maximum amount reflections? Or maybe because white producers calmness in the brain.
Most likely so. Thanks my friend.
You know he history of this is awesome but when u know what they did and how sick and twisted most of them were its insane such sick ppl are so famous. War isn't suppose to glorified history is. What us Americans did was the reason y we all live how we all do today free.
Thanks for watching.
