Just love the Wilburn. Brothers was shocked someone found some shows of them am so so pleased they were the the. Best of program. That brought on some good to people. And thier song was from the heart
Love, love, love the Wilburn Brothers. Their harmony is so pleasant and they are so personable. They always look terrific - very professional. I like to see entertainers look well dressed and colorful. Too many tee shirts and ripped jeans these days. Wow - the big hair days of the lovely gal singers sure do stand out. Peggy Sue sounds so much like Loretta and I believe she wrote a few of Loretta's songs. The band is terrific. I do miss these great shows - Paula
Peggy Sue sounds like Loretta great sound, great song. I wonder if she gets tired of being compared to Loretta, but there is nothing that can compare to family harmonies, as the Wilburn Bros are a great example, sounds good in her own right. Love bluegrass music and REALLY enjoy Jimmy Martin.
I had my picture taken with the Wilburn Brothers at Buck Lake Ranch in Indiana when I was around 12 years old. They were an inspiration for my interest in music and songwriting. Thanks Teddy and Doyle.
Nice old W-Bros show. Of course we love them, as well as their other bros in the band and Jimmy Capps (gtr) & Curly Chalker (steel). Peggy Sue is cool, but, oh man, Jimmy Martin & The Sunny Mtn Boys with another of his good line-ups: Johnny Dacus on fiddle, Ronnie Prevette on mando, the great Kenny Ingram on banjo and, I believe, Jimmy's son, Ray Martin, on bass.
Poor Doyle Wilburn could not think of the word "genre" to define what country music is! Liked the Wilburns on LESS OF ME and JUST CALL ME LONESOME, and nobody can beat Peggy Sue on those up-tempo fiesty country gal songs! "Fraulein" was a great way to close out the show.
These shows were one of the best in the era. very smooth delivery. Wilburn Bros delivered a country show as it should be. Just watch some of the TV these days and you'll shut down the TV quickly, including the ACM show. All smoke and mirrors with women in short dresses dancing around the stage. Okay for some people but I'll stick to the shows as Wilburn Bros. Jimmy Capps and Charlie Chaulker. mosrite60
+Debbie Pendergrass , hey deb, absolutely. The TV shows from 70s were just great. The stars just sang. Nowadays, its mainly smoke and mirrors. Some good talent, but nothing compared to Wilburn Bros.
Real country and bluegrass music. The Wilburn Bros. belong in the CMHOF. So much more talented than some who are in there. Curly Chalker and Jimmy Capps two if the finest musicians in CM. Curly Chalker was one of the top pedal "steelers",along with Lloyd Green, Buddy Emmons, Weldon Myrick, Sonny Burnette,Buddy Charlton, Hal Rugg and a few others. The pedal steel is so important in CM.
@@marycornett3165 You are absolutely right. He certainly was from the great state of Tennessee. And I am a big fan of Jimmy Martin, and our neighboring state of Tennessee. I must have been thinking of Earl Scruggs or Bobby Hicks.
Well, it was nice of the Wilburn Bros. to say that bluegrass is a much more complicated music than country - and it's true. Not a day goes by that I don't listen to a Jimmy Martin recording.
It was nice of them to say that, but if you really want to talk complicated, what Curly Chalker was doing on the steel, especially the instrumental that He and Jimmy Capps played, and his mastery of the C6th tuning in general, was beyond complicated!
Great show. Came back for a RE-LISTENING.😃 Love everything here, including Peggy Sue Webb Wright, but not so much that preposterous wig, TO PUT IT MILDLY! 🥺😫😖🙀🙄😆🙉🙈
john rorrer Peggy Sue is Lorreta's sister, as is Crystal Gale . I got to play Indiana Jubilee , at Peru , IN., in the mid '60s, and they were there , playing . When Crystal was still Brenda Gale .

If Jimmy's soul in his voice can't convert you with that gospel song, to the fold, nothing will
Jimmy Martin killing it!

What great harmony!...nothing like this today.
🎶Wunderful…Wunderful…like Lawrence Welk used to say🎶
The Wilburn Bros. were great. Watch them on RFD TV Saturdays.
Brings back good memories!!

Rowena Dunlop
I feel like she was trying to sound like Loretta. She had more of her own singing style at the very beginning of her career.
she really sucks.............
It's Loretta Lynns r sister.

Boy, that’s some snazzy sunny mountain boy wardrobe. The classic brown and yellow ruffled shirt is really something else

Thanks for posting this one!! I was hoping you was gonna post this one!!!
Loved it when Bill would take off his hat when he did gospel. JImmy and Kenny two of the best ever.

Love Peggy Sue Webb Wright! She looks like she could
have been the offspring of "Ma and Pa Kettle! (Percy Kilbride & Marjorie Main)
Jimmy Martin = GOAT
Lady sounds a lot like Loretta Lynn.
_gooogles "Peggy Sue singer" while she's singing_
Well, that explained a lot. =)
She is backup singer in Crystal band and she married to Sonny Wright.
She did great
Curley Chalker just might have been the greatest steel player ever.
Great show. Came back for a RE-LISTENING.😃

7:07 sunny side of the mountain
Why ain't the Wilburn Bros in the Hall of Fame they did as much for country music and great artists as any The Hall must be political
I was told the Wilburn Bro’s. sang The Flames Still Burning but I can’t find it anywhere. Anyone know who wrote or sang it?
16:00 when the saviour
his name singing the song of Miss Peggy Sue?
Pure unadulterated Americana!
What's the first song please?
"Less of Me" written by Glen Campbell
Who's the banjo picker? That dudes tight.
Kenny Ingram.
Alan Munde?
I'm shocked that JImmy got the verses scrambled on Sunny Side of the Mountain !
He probably had a snort before he sang it lol
He tossed a hot tater to the bass player in that second verse too.
Who is the banjo picker? It isn't Alan Munde.
Kenny Ingraham
peggy sue sounds like loretta lynn

She sounds similar,
not like.
who is this ?
Who's Peggy Sue?
+Pablo Bering she is dolly parton sister
Loretta Lynn's sister, not Dolly's.
Loretta Lynn's sister. Which is why she greatly resembles Loretta in looks and voice.
Loretta and Crystal sister. She sings backup in Crystal band. She is also married to Sonny Wright.
Wow they included God in their shows. 💕🌺👍 So where did it all go wrong. ? Today they're trying to ban the Bible 🥶🥶🥶🥶 yeah them.
