    ℹ️About the episode:
We're going back to Mexico, but not for 3 months like Season 2 in Peurto Vallarta. We're just going for 3 nights to help build a house for a deserving family in Peurto Penasco with 1Mission. But first Caleb needs a place to sleep on top of the Jeep Rubicon so we stop by Summit 4x4 Company in Prescott, AZ to install the Smittybilt rooftop tent. Thanks to the channel Sketchy Jeep, we eliminated the crossbars for a cleaner lower profile install on top of the Rhino-Rack.

Googling 1Mission to see how I can be of service too. I loved the idea of using your rig for service like you did with this and with the Ronald McDonald house! I loved the dog stretching on the job site, typical dog, right in the way 🤣.
Caleb is just a gem, he cracks me up. It’s been fun seeing him grow up. I missed him in the last episode. I will be SO sad when he’s off at college. He’s a true asset to the show.

My wife and youngest son and I went to Mexico on a mission with Hands Across Mexico. They have a medical clinic that my wife and I worked in while my son helped build a Casita. Actually in a week hey built two of them. While in the clinic we were so impressed with the children's behavior. No screaming or running or other disruptions. The people were so appreciative of our services. We took a second trip next year and found it very rewarding. Glad you got the same opportunity. Good vid. Y'all Havagudun!

Yes. And, there are my seniors who can't afford a roof over their heads and live in their cars. So many people are now homeless because of the high cost of housing in California. Not all homeless are adicts. Those are only the ones the news highlights.

We agree and we're looking for great opportunities to serve Veterans too. So many people think in terms of "OR". Serve Veterans or build a house in Mexico. Trish and I think in terms of "AND"... Serving 1Mission and Veterans and the Children's Hosptial, etc. There is no limit to serving and we look forward to more opportunities. Through the help of the KYD community, we made a substantial donation to Toys for Tots this winter which is run by the Marines. If anyone has ideas of ways to serve, leave a comment. We love great ideas and more ways to serve 👍

This episode was really special to me. When my kids were growing up their uncle was a missionary/local minister down past Tijuana. We went down to visit and were able to see the wonderful things that were being done through a local community build project. It was wonderful, it is something I will always remember. When your home project came to completion and everyone who worked on it got inside and created the arbor for the new owners to walk through into their new home, I couldn't help it, it just made me cry. That was so wonderful. God bless you guys. Looking forward to next week.

Supporting the work of 1Mission on this episode was very inspirational to myself and many others Marc, Trish and Caleb. Be encouraged your care and compassion to others through your efforts will be felt by those you have helped. There will always be those who give negative comment. There will never be a shortage of people or organisations in need of help, love and support in this world, only a shortage of those willing to sacrifice their time or effort. Bless you on your travels and adventures. We love our travel here in Australia and have had 3 driving holidays in the USA. So much to see and never enough time. Would love to travel fulltime, but have always thought, like you keep sayin', need to have a purpose for travel. Would love to hook up with teams like 1Mission here in Australia rewarding and purposeful.

The tent looks pretty neat, I can see why Caleb is excited. I was in Rocky Point in the mid-90's. Growing up in southern Az, I had my share of Mexico. With all that's going on in that country, I'd say you are very brave to cross over especially with all your expensive gear, not including the jeep and trailer(I've seen to much in my day). I will say that I do admire your willingness to help with that mission; it's commendable.

Hey KYD, when you first announced your new RV Endeaver a few weeks ago, I thought to myself how much I was gonna miss watching your films because I didn't think I was all that interested in "off road" at this point in my life. But I have to say how you are proving me wrong so far. I thoroughly enjoyed this weeks show and want to give you a huge round of applause for the good you are did/are doing with our neighbors in Mexico.
Although not my cup of tee (a wee bit to rough for me) the new rig-ette is pretty cool. I'm sure that you told Caleb to tread softly on level 2. Did I hear you say that you are headed back to Tahoe? I'm in Santa Cruz so if you are going to be near soon it would be fun to join in on one of your meet-ups. Until then, safe travels to you all.

There is SUCH a difference between camping (tent or like your little teardrop) and full time RVing/living like you were doing, & especially when kids have to be home schooled, nutritious meals cooked, keeping wellness as a priority, etc. We've done our time with kids & tent camping, seeing places all over the US & Canada. Now we're living a more comfortable & leisurely life in a smaller RV & going wherever the gypsy in us takes us...😁 No plans to going back to a tent, cooking outdoors, taking sponge baths, using outdoor toilets, or freezing bums, hands, fingers, faces, feet, & toes off.

A great video. 1 Mission house building looks a great project and as you said, so rewarding for the volunteers as well as those who need the houses. The best kind of 'donation' for those able to contribute. I've seen a number of those car top tents in NZ and people I was talking to last year said sleeping their tent was warmer than sleeping in their vehicle??? I had a chuckle about the 'helpful' dog. That was on a par with may cat being helpful. Looking forward to your change of pace next week.

Wish more Americans could see the way those people live, and try to better themselves. Maybe than they would appreciate what they have.

I'm loving this season and it's only just starting! And... HOMEMADE TORTILLAS are the bomb!!!!!! My family and friends are always fighting for mine when I make them (but sadly, I don't do it on open coals - but still - homemade is better'n store bought EVERY TIME). I was born and raised in New Mexico so Mexican cuisine is what I love the most. Safe travels y'all! I'm loving the new tent and the teardrop. Can't wait to see your lessons in 4-wheel driving.

Absolutely loved this video. And the purpose driven RV-ing mission REALLY resonates and touches me. It gives me more of reason to "get out there".
Thank you for this inspiring glimpse into what y'all are doing.
    God bless and stay safe.

Awesome episode. Love the way the teardrop and rooftop tent are working for you. We saw a rooftop tent for the very first time several years ago at Grand Haven State Park. They're a nice way to be up off of the ground. I've never seen the foam filled with cement type of construction before, but it looks like it does the trick and a huge blessing for the recipients.

I wait all week for this video. Love you all! I am watching the old videos through the week, on Season 3 now. Caleb looks like Carson now. WOW! Kids grow so fast. I love the pocsocket? I have a small rv and I have a pocsocket. I will be using 2 of those in our Autumn Ridge. What a great project. Years ago, I drove through Texas and the west, American Indians lived like this. They have land and tiny homes with many family members. I think it is still the same way out there. I want to travel again, like you do, and see our country. We have friends from Guatemala and I see the need there. Great video guys!!

welcome to the rooftop tent world... that's how we have been doing it for a couple of years now... be sure to buy a rubber mat for the bottom of the steps to kind of clean off your shoes and have a little better surface to land on.. then it can store on top of the tent just under the ladder!!

Our Son's FIL (DIL is from Mexico) once explained to me that in Mexico "mañana" does not mean "tomorrow", it actually means "just not today". I never stopped to think about the difference re: Social Interaction between RV travel and Camping. Cool trip, can't wait for Big Sur growing up on Monterey bay.

In the state of Sonora, there is a level 3 (out of 4) travel advisory. Meaning “reconsider traveling there”. Level 4 is “do not travel”. U.S. government employees currently may not travel to most of the state.
