WHY NOT JUST JUST LANCE THE BOIL AND RELEASE THE PRESSURE?
WHAT I MEAN IN DETAIL IS TO DRILL A FEW HUNDRED DRILL HOLES WITH VALVES TO INCREASE THE RATE OF PRESSURE RELEASE AND THUS THE VOLCANO WILL NOT EXPLODE . THE VERY HOT GASES CAN BE USED TO DRIVE STEAM TURBINES FOR ELECTRICITY AND WILL PAY FOR THE COST. THE DRILL HOLES DO NOT HAVE TO BE VERY DEEP INTO THE MAGMA BUT JUST A FEW HUNDRED FEET ABOVE IT.
THEY WILL RELEASE THE PRESSURE.

Krakatoa was a more impressive eruption. Nothing like a volcano literally exploding itself into nothingness. Another fun fact about Olympus Mons is that due to the slope of the volcano: if you travelled up it for a day without stopping and looked down and then repeated that activity for another day and looked down, it would look like you didn't move at all.
Probably because you didn't, Your oxygen tank would have run out before the second move! ;)
But he just explained Krakatoa was an index factor of only five meaning only ten times worse than Vesuvius... and the Tambori eruption of level 7 was 100 times that of Vesuvius.
Krakatoa's eruption, compared to the ones of Yellowstone and/or Toba, is like a firecracker. Yellowstone caldera's magmatic chamber is at least 100 times bigger than Krakatoa's, so those 2 can't be compared at all.
A comparison that would be more fair to Krakatoa's would be comparing it to Pinatubo's eruption in 1991.

USA: we have a supervolcano that can kill all of us
Indonesia: Pathetic
meh, volcanologists say that'll yellowstone will never be a true super volcano because the layer that lava has to travel through is way too thin to build up enough pressure to ever see a true super volcano eruption. Star Talk with Neal deGrasse Tyson had one on recently.
Yellowstone will kill everyone in the surrounding states, cripple the US and the world economy.
Tristan Causer Thats not entirely true. Scientists and people who study these volcanos would be able to tell weeks in advance. So not “everyone in the surrounding states” would be killed. Places like British Columbia and Alberta would also be affected by the eruption.
Now watch by the end of this year, both will go off at once.

Alpha Centuri is 4.37 ly away, and presumably has it's own Oort cloud. Meaning that ours and theirs possibly overlap with each other.
Another effect of Tambora was the rain that caused Napoleon to be unable to succeed at Waterloo, because his heavier cavalry and guns got bogged down. To elaborate on that theory, you mentioned.

@@MandoRick1978 it depends on how you look at this. Let me give you some context, this statement was said by a poet (who is considered an artist) that has simplified many mysteries via poetry. As for intellectuals he was referring to academics (who usually use academic jargon) that always use academic language which is not usually understood by the layman. In the case of a painting, it is left to be interpreted by anyone in anyway, just because you don't see something meaningful it doesn't mean someone else isn't. It's like how some genres of music are appealing to a certain person and others aren't. The ones that aren't appealing doesn't mean they aren't art or music anymore.
@@lesiba5382 I know exactly how to look at it. Ironically not a single person reaches for poetry when the shit hits the fan. I am a realist, I see an idiot shoving paint up his ass, and other idiots trying to find meaning where there is none. I understand poetry, despite you thinking me silly for being logical. I have looked at the deeper meaning, there is none! Man knows nothing for certain, not a single thing, so everything else is just pissing in the wind. If you enjoy getting covered by it and try to find deeper meaning to console yourself, then feel free. Follow a guru, praise an artist. When all is said and done, you know exactly as much as I do, which is absolutely nothing. If painting a picture makes you feel better about your absolute lack of absolute truth, then feel free. But do not expect me to buy into your bullshit when you claim it has deeper meaning, because I may just call you out on your bullshit and ask you to explain said deeper meaning, which is when the cop-out starts and you claim it is different for every person. Truth is truth, and we have none, because we know nothing with certainty. Go write a poem about that.

But there was also one thst erupted near equator and possible one in indonesia said to be dormant now with an H in the beginning besides krakitoa. So? But still a good idea to be keeping an eye on them all ans climate with this all going on and when geo quakes also hit peak. The Geo gases that all faults, fissures and volcanoes spew right before during and directly afterwards when calming down are crucial to keep in mind. Geo gases include carbon dioxide,(CO2), carvon monoxide (CO), N2O aka Nitrous oxide (a major green house gas and if eaten by a type of bacteria turns into N2), methane, radon and when dealing with volcanoes and fissures sulfuric acid (H2SO4), and carbonic acid (H2CO3) besides sulfur dioxide (H2S), hydrogen (H2), hydrogen chloride ( HCL, which is used in industrial metal pickling and is also found in the stomach to break down food on a smaller quantity with enzymes), hydrogen fluoride (HF), hydrogen bromide (HBr) aka known with the other hydrogen acids as hydrogen halides and Helium (He).
@Ace J. 7 Million big deal on the food supply.
Krakatoa was a suspect in one of those eruptions.
@@stephenrodenbough2186 it was Either krakitoa or a dormant one now that began with an H, I forget the full name of that one.
Yes, I read the story about that and watched several videos.

[42]: *When This Volcano Erupts Humanity Is Doomed*
[2020]: ah-HHhhh... !
As always, very informative and entertaining. A minor correction is that the arithmetic at 13:20 is incorrect. The eruption would bury England to a depth of 9 metres and not 1km. (ie 1170 / 130400 = 0.00897 km which is 8.97 metres). Mind you, either of these would seriously disrupt the Premier League but still wouldn't stop Erling Haaland from scoring at least 30 goals this season. Cheers
"Mauna Kea is a majestic 10.200 meters ABOVE SEA LEVEL"
So, around 1.300 meters higher than Everest? That's a firm negative.
Mauna kea is 10.200 from its base that sits below sea level. Mauna kea is around 4.200 above sea level 😉
Mauna Loa too, just few hundred meters lower than Mauna Kea. But their combined weight, causing the island to push tectonic plate downward. cmiiw
Yes'nt
Exactly, because the highest, is Volcán Ojos del Salado in Chile at 6,893 m (22,615 ft). Above sea level.Counting from under the sea is just a technicallity.
This
Perfect observation. When the video informs that I have the same exact thought. "How can it be higher than the Everest?"
Small correction: Mauna Kea is not 10,200 meters above sea level. Its peak is 4,200 meters above sea level - 10,200 meters is the elevation of the peak starting from the ocean floor. However, if the base was placed at surface level, it would be taller than Mount Everest. And, if Olympus Mons was placed at the ocean floor like Mauna Kea, its peak would still be taller than Mount Everest.

I live near Krakatoa and I can confirm that even Krakatoa blew itself up, it is still very deadly until now
You forgot about the ring of fire, a series of “connected” volcanoes, if a dupe volcano erupts along this ring it could cause a domino effect and get other volcanoes to erupt as well. Just a little fun fact
:) gotta love it
The other volcanoes don't want to feel left out

When she had calmed down and come back, I explained to her what I meant."O-o-oh..." she said with doughtful eyes. Mauna Kea is a dormant volcano on the island of Hawaiʻi. Its peak is 4,207.3 m above sea level, making it the highest point in the state of Hawaiʻi. Most of the volcano is underwater, and when measured from its underwater base, Mauna Kea is the tallest mountain in the world, measuring 10,200 m in height.

Mauna Kea is 10200 meters above the "Sea Floor" not "Sea Level" . That would make it taller than Everest, which is 8849 meters above sea level. Just an FYI. I do love your videos!! I apologize if someone else already pointed this out.
