If you look at the sizes of most American cities from that period of time away from the Northeast and far West most were half the size as they are now. They had their issue but as they grew larger many of the racial issues were addressed as they grew. Looking at where most of the unrest is. It is In city who have had the historical problem of being crowded. This has been the problem with the Federalization of US politics. My parents worked in the training department of our local governments training facility for employees who give our food stamps, they denied many white men so they could give “diversity” the person they hired ended up causing a massive investigation and failed their job badly.

In UK we sometimes have recreational riots. You can often pick up a bargain in a riot that you wouldn't otherwise be able to afford, so we should have riots more often. Recreational riots usually occur in hot weather.

i have a feeling people who riot having nothing to lose or everything to gain from it. Wilst most of us cant bare the thought of family geting hurt and keep them inside at all costs. Or losing everything you have worked for in a hobby or corporate later or homestead.

That said “spontaneous” riots are generally caused by a catalyst event but the list of complaints has already existed for a long time to most of them. There are driving forces that compel many to behave in violent manner such as the knowledge that the next generation is likely to be worse off due to laws being passed that affect their financial future, their legal protections or citizenship status. The whole freedom of expression was a modern phenomenon but as the reach and true meaning of that reached/s entities/institutions that consider themselves infallible persecution ensues by the means they have available and as social spaces change alongside technologies, markets and distribution methods have to adapt the problem is the weaker government structures are the more dependent they become on outside power structures which tend to be more interested in strengthening themselves at the expense of the governing structures which always tend to lead to more precarious conditions and hardships for those that are not part of those outside power structures.

First of all, of course it's exclusively losers that have nothing left. If any of what you describe would be true, those left behind by globalization would be on a murder spree surpassing the shitfest known as the French Revolution. As would be hundreds of other groups. Explanations like this always obviously fail because very few people with the allegedly causal trait actually behave like that. No, being a loser and a moral degenerate is always the final piece of the puzzle. Otherwise, all the other conditions and grievances mean nothing. As the OP alluded too, that is immideatly obvious to you if you have people you care about and take responsibility for. There are many people that do not have the access to substantial capital, government lobbying, mass media expression etc. and myriads of things to be livid about - but they still have a life and a family, maybe even a job they don't throw away by rioting.
No, the "catalyst" is just an opportunity for nihlist to do what they wanted to do anyway because they are incapable of producitve change (or greatfulness, actually, very often), not only because of their lack of access but also because of their limited cognitive ressources and character. Destruction of the the manifestations of the status quo only makes rational sense when the absence of said status quo is clearly better. It is clearly not given all alternatives that ever have been. So if you riot you are either too incapable to see that (which is... infantile to be euphemistic) or you in a truely horrible situation. Whereas truely means genuienly "truely", not what a postmodern wimp on twitter would consider horrible. Like concentration camp conditions horrible. I guess you can make yourselves actually believe that if the television tells you the police can and does kill you for your skin color for fun and gets away with it 24/7 (and you don't notice not a single story of that makes sense without obviously missing details). Fair enough. Then the causal factor is the information bubble and incitement. Not the peoples inability to change things.
But more imporantly, what an absurd dichtomy. As if exclusion from power structures is something that can be categorized with essentialistic differences. Where in the history of humanity have government and other institutions with the potential to shape society ever been sperate? More precisely, where have the groups having access to it ever been wholly distinct if not wholly identical? Government has never been as powerful and indepndent as it has been in modernity, but of course it barely is by an absolute standard. Only a megalomaniac would ever dare to believe it could be. The idea that you pass some law to make things better for people who are in a bad place is so _modern_ (and yet so outdated already, in my humble opinion. Never saw this work for anybody who was not very well off and I am by now at the point I can say I wasn't born yesterday. All the empty promises every decade or so and a new generation to fall for it - and it goes back to ancient Greece if you care too look it up. It is still uniroinically tragic. Young people should not waste their youth on this).
And what riot does not target the government also? Rioters, I give them that much, understand that neither the government nor other institutions are on their side and do not act in their intrest. So what you say would have to be causal and subconscious, but it clearly isn't causal.

So many one sided people. A police officers job is to maintain law and order and when you’re disobeying the law and the order bad stuff is going to happen to you. How is looting a private business ending racism, helping the black communities and fixing the justice system? And the whole ALL cops are bad thing is stupid. And a lot of these people say they want better training for the police but are also are saying that they want to defund the police but the thing is police need more funding for better training.

Some protest can be held peacefully. Like the George Floyd protest in Houston, Texas. It was mostly peaceful. You just have to have the idiots sprinkled throughout that wants to incite violence. They're everywhere. Can't avoid them...

You can’t be violent against inanimate objects like government property and private businesses. Violence happens between people- on people. Overwhelmingly the violence is done by the police in US cities during these protests.. During a protest this year I got shot in the ass with a rubber bullet and tear gassed just because we were marching.. Don’t confuse vandalism with violence- they are very different things. This conflation of violence with vandalism is exactly what they do in order to get normal decent people like yourself and others to take the side of our authoritarian and brutally violent police state.

I live in Saint Louis, and suffice to say I've witnessed a few riots firsthand. They start out as protests, but when it gets dark they devolve into destruction. The police are usually severally out numbered, and people run around and destroy as much shit as they can while the cops attempt to pick people off. It's crazy when you see it unfold before your eyes. Law and order almost completely dissolves, and people act like animals. I didn't see the Ferguson riots but I saw the riots following the Jason Stockley verdict a few years ago and then the riots following the George Floyd. I live in the city so I'm typically in the heart of it, and on top of that I'm also a reckless idiot and get a rush from being present when it all goes down. Easily some of the craziest shit I've ever seen.
