The SECRET, More Fun Way to the Hollywood Sign : The Wisdom Tree Trail!

  • I complete a full hike to the back of the Hollywood Sign and also visited the Wisdom Tree, the lone survivor of a 2007 fire. The tree is a Los Angeles treasure, and many make the trip remark at its beauty. This trail is rugged, tough, and comes with steep ascents. I also climbed Burbank and Cahuenga Peaks, the highest natural points in Griffith Park, and with it came great views of Los Angeles.

Gotta be in good shape to be doing hikes like that. Good job Ak. And beautiful scenery. After your hike here, a post workout shake with electrolytes, certain amino acids and simple sugars will prevent your muscles from getting really soar and breaking down. Elite athletes take custom post shakes after intense workouts because it allows them to recover more quickly so that they can train hard again the next day.

Snakes can't regulate their body temp internally, so they use external sources such as sunlight or hot rocks. Also they use shade which is where a lot of snakes will be hiding during the heat of the day.
Also I'd like to add that if you're in Australia, more snake deaths occur inside homes, rather than the outdoors. Aussie snakes while venonous, don't kill very often due to a number of factors I won't list in a short video comment.

WOW! The views were absolutely stunning Ken! I bet you didn't think you'd go mountaineering in L.A. . The hike was a bit scary at times (at least for me with my fear of heights) . And I'd have loved to have got hold of the idiot with the blue spray paint.... just disrespectful...

I guess on a hot day it would be more enjoyable later in the day. Maybe to even catch the sunset in the way down

Hello AK. I missed the live. Will you go to Mulholland drive ? 🌺

Oh wow! Oh wow! Oh wow! I have been to the Hollywood sign about 😁 3 times or so. I heard about the Wisdom Tree & Cuhenga Pass. Looking at your video it looks pretty rough.
From your video it looks much easier to go from Hollywood sign to the Wisdom Tree/ Cahunga Peak.
For direction to those some what familiar to Griffth park.
Go to the back of Hollywood sign not the front of the Hollywood sign. This saves lots walking/ hiking & times.
Once you reached near the top of the Hollywood sign about 10 yards or so before the chain link fence ( near the end of the top of Hollywood sign) As you see in the AK video ( near the end of video) there is rock 🪨/ plaque. A small entry of trail to Cahuenga Pass/ Wisdom Tree.
Looking at your video it looks like not clear signage or maintained trails. It could be a big challenge. I will try it one of these days. I better start early so the Sun doesn't go down on me. Looking at your video this is not a trail I want to do it in the dark. One time I was hiking coming back from Admir Garden to Ferndell (where I parked my 🚗). The sun 🌞 was out. Even with my head lamp it was challenging., although I went this way a couple times. I will turn around if it gets to rough or looks like I might get lost coming back. I will try again, again & again until I find my way back to Hollywood sign. Thanks for the video. It was 😉 enjoyable.

      Thank 😊 you AK
#1) stating the date and time @ beginning of your video
#2) thank you for showing the parking area of lake hollywood Dr & wonder view 😀.
#3) thank you for showing the black gate ( entrance to the griffth park)
#4) by watching your video, i went to the trail 2 times already. Your video was very realistic of what to expect on the tail, very doable.
I look for more of your utube video
P.s I am planning to do burbank trail, Wisdom 🌳, & cahuenga peak ( maybe back of the Hollywood sign) coming back down.
