    Dag, yo... Jedi girl just straight up bodied that dude. She don’t play, man... But yeah, I dig it. The twist was a little predictable- the second I saw that dude at the beginning, I was like “Yeah he’s the traitor.” He was wearing a hood! Dead giveaway. That said, the choreography was fantastic. It didn’t feel overly scripted, and the kind of frantic, highly mobile, keeping the opponent at maximum range approach is much more plausible than the typical “let’s stand two feet away from each other and lock our blades together for five minutes while monologuing” nonsense. I also really, really dig how you gave each character their own style instead of just aping the standard ‘beige kimonos for good guys; black cloaks for bad guys’ routine. My favorite was definitely Captain Silver Hair Funky Eyes (everybody knows dudes with silver hair are awesome)... kinda reminded me of Raiden from Mortal Kombat (don’t hate... Mortal Kombat is a timeless classic...). And the yari/naginata style saber was perfect. Did you get that from my boy Emory at Ultrasabers? If so, you should seriously get in touch with him- I know he’s posted links to fan-videos that feature Ultrasabers on the website and forums- would be a great way to get some much deserved views. Just a thought. Anyway, excellent work. I’ll definitely be looking forward to the next one.

    I loved how the first thing you notice is the photography/music, both of which are highly effective in setting tone. Then of course, the original-yet-fitting costumes were lovely to see. At this point I was worried that the cast might over play accents or something but nay! They all seem quite immersed and motivated, not to mention attractive! As the story played out I was really invested and enthralled by the expert pacing. This left the fight scene, and what a fight it was! Kudos to the choreographer(s) for knowing how a sword fight works; especially in a 2v1!

      Ruben O. Seeing that dryker was surprised to see 'she was a knight and all' it suggests that either he was taunting her with the idea of being a knight as she might have been looking like a knight but truly she was an padawan or she very recently became a knight which is very possible meaning that she could have more clouded vision in the force and since judging from her lightsaber colour blue she was a Jedi guardian making her more aggressive then other Jedi especially since two of her close friends master bahn and ordain were killed
      Rekt Star Wars logic style

    "I'm gonna break every single bone in your body. Please, it will be my pleasure." Well, that's the Jedi way! One of the few fan films which would actually be worth watching because of acting, quality and fight scenes. If only the characters would fit in to the Star Wars Universe :/ Jedi would never behaver like that.

      Hey Jacob! First, thanks for watching our short film and giving feedback! And yes, in the post Ruusan reformation Jedi Order, this type of behavior would not be tolerated in the least. The idea we were running with was more reflective of Jedi order that had been fighting the Sith in open warfare for decades. As is shown in the expanded Universe, the Jedi were constantly evolving with policies and approach, due to dynamic changes within the order. Close contact with the republic made the now warlike Jedi far more aggressive and militaristic in nature. The idea of Jedi Knights not acting like typical Jedi when placed into unmonitored, isolated situations is one we found intriguing. Hope that clarifies a few things!

      In legends, there're a class of jedi called jedi sentinels, practically deep cover agents & spies & such--ninjas of the jedi order. these jedi won't get far if there're always serene & peaceful & very reluctant to make gruesome threats. so no, quite a handful of jedi DO behave as such.

  • @Britton_Thompson

    Great work, pal. You took a disciplined approach to researching & rehearsing the lightsaber duels, which paid huge dividends. The costumes were superb; visual effects were of a surprisingly high quality; the pacing was stellar; and the suspense made it impossible to look away due to the thickness hanging over the air as a result of the mystery in play here- a mystery which can only be found by reading between the lines instead of the lines themselves.
    The only noticeable flaw is the inaccurate characterization of the Star Wars mythos. "Master Rayd" couldn't possibly be a Sith since the Sith abide by the Rule of Two. The Rule of Two states that there can only ever be 2 Sith lords in the galaxy at any one time- the master, and the apprentice. Rayd's conversion to the dark side is inconsistent with established Star Wars tenets since there are already 2 Sith in the galaxy at the time this story takes place. Otherwise this is a great effort you put forth. You should take pride in such a work.

    • @hal5699
      @hal5699 Před 6 lety +3

      Britton Thompson well, wasn't there a time before the rule of two in which there was a sith empire and a Jedi republic? I thought that's what they were referencing, since they referenced leaving republic space to go to sith space, the capitol of their empire being corriban. I loved it, but I had difficulty placing the time period.

      Joe Schmoe yep, rule of two was instituted with Darth Bane 1000 BBY. If Korriban is still in play, it suggests the film is set in the Old Republic Era, about 4000-3700 BBY. Good comment

    • @FalconWindblader
      @FalconWindblader Před 6 lety +1

      I won't say so. darksiders DON'T always equal Sith, & the Sith can be a bunch of assholes breaking the rule of 2 from time to time. for all we know, Master Rayd could've been a mere darksider corroborating with the Sith, or hell, a Sith promising him a place in the Sith order by deciding which disciple gets the job done better.
