At least this time it was mostly due to late season O-Line injuries, but it's still an issue lol
This really felt like a "bridge season" for a lot of the NFL. Many teams stayed the same. The only teams with relatively higher expectations than before the season started are the Lions, Seahawks, Jets, Eagles, and Giants...anyone else? (Most of) the playoff contenders made the playoffs, the mid teams were mid, and a few good/projectedly good teams fell off.

As a Vikings fan, I followed an important doctrine this year (especially after the Cowboys game) that never steered me wrong.

As a Chiefs fan I personally think that you are one of the better teams this year. Always love watching Joe Burrow but I also think it’s both slate hits were called it still would’ve been A field goal game no matter what I’m personally glad that the Chiefs won but if y’all would have one, I probably would’ve acted the same way lol

The moment I saw all the trash talking from the Bengals and the Cincinnati mayor, I had a bad feeling about the Bengals Chiefs game… trash talking always seems to hurt the team more than help it, so it’s a mystery that Eli Apple would continue to trash talk after consistently getting beat after trash talking.

This team ball'd hard all year. Out of 20 games, just ONE loss that wasn't decided on a last play field-goal. Honestly one of the best seasons they ever had and it just makes the ending so sad. This team was doubted all season. It's sad that the media painted them as villains cause you couldn't ask much more from them. They're a young team still, and this new era of Bengals is only just beginning.

Next year there is going to be an Allen/Burrow/Lawrence/Mahomes round-robbin. 6 games that will be prime time or CBS late game, nationally broadcast with no undercard.

Beats the Allen/Mahomes game with 5 games featuring whoever will be QBs for the Ravens (because LJ8 was not resolved) and Titans.
Funny how that worked out the last week of the season....

Burrow is overrated
As an Eagles fan, the Bengals are gonna be scary for the next decade or so. Fantastic offensive weapons they have in Cincy.
The challenge is keeping them all after their rookie contracts are over. You haven't paid Burrow, Chase, or Higgins, their first non-rookie deals. After 2026, the team could look VERY different. Great team, though.

As a bengals fan, I feel happy that they proved they aren't frauds (while LA had a... harder time doing so), they're real contenders and as long as we can keep most of the team together and continue to improve the O-line then i'm really excited for many years to come
How can the team that won the SB be frauds though? Yeah, they had a shit season but they've got the hardware they're happy.

O line was pretty good after week 2 until the injuries hit. Love this team and we will be back. And congrats to the chiefs, this will be fun for many years to come.
It's easier to blame the refs than admit defeat against
1. Mahomes on one leg
2. Kelce with a bad back
3. A mostly rookie secondary, whose best CB is out with a concussion, while having an elite passing attack.
4. KC getting 320ish pass yards while their 3 top WR are out with injury.

Being a Bengals fan I'm super proud of my team. Yeah it's disappointing that we aren't going back to the super bowl but at least we're finally good enough to go to the playoffs and not get knocked out of the round every time.

Even as a Bengals fan, I've never seen a fanbase talk that much trash one week only to cry that many crocodile tears the next. Yes, the officiating was bad, but we shouldn't have put ourselves in a position where those calls mattered. Keep in mind that our first win against Mahomes came off a questionable call at the end, so I guess this makes us even. Best of luck in the Super Bowl, Chiefs and Eagles

Talking shit is only a issue when you can't back it up. We lost by a last second field goal its literally the most BS way to win a game. It wasn't a blowout. We will be back next season. This team is good enough to win a SB it's just a matter of making it that far while healthy.

Us Bengals fans were flying high in January 2022..... February 2022 not so much.
"We just need an O-line" Yeah and the problem is that so many teams are competing for quality O-line players and coaches that it's hard for any given team to get a solid one.
The Bengals had a heck of a year but they must become a real juggernaut in order to win the Superbowl.
Not quite sure if you are serious. You do realize that if the AFC Championship was played at a neutral site the Bengals would have been favored? And that crowd at Arrowhead was certainly worth more than 3 points.
The Bengals had some unlucky injuries. I highly doubt Mahomes could have done well with the offensive line the Bengals had during that game. I remember what happened to Mahomes when his offensive line was injured. I'm not taking anything from Mahomes. He is the most impactful player in the NFL and it's not close. And Reid is a very good offensive mind. The weakness of the Chiefs were injuries to secondary. The Bengals couldn't take advantage because Chris Jones was causing havoc against Bengal's second string.
The Bengals probably has one of the best defensive coordinator in the NFL rn... He took that defensive to another level and they outplayed there expectations all year... We keep that dline, awuzia, Hilton, and Britt, and hopefully Logan Wilson I think that core of healthy can be a #1 defensive... this whole team is young and I think Higgins and chase will be staying..Mixon is out, and so is Boyd, Mixon I think just had an extension but I think they will trade him at the very least, we got a guy from Michigan that has a lot of potential just we will see and I hope they keep playing like they have

Making back to back AFC Championship appearance was impressive and so was being on a 10 game win streak. I was hoping for a Super Bowl victory. Next season let's keep improving and silencing the doubters and HOPEFULLY win the WHOLE THING and get Joe Burrow a RING as well as a LAMBORDI. We gotta win a super bowl with Joe Cool sometime in the next 3 seasons.

Gotta say, I find it real funny that the Bengals won't stop blaming the refs even though they couldn't seal the deal on a team whose list of injuries included: 4 wide receivers, a running back, a starting linebacker, and their best defensive back. Oh, and of course, Mahomes had one leg and Kelce hurt his back the day before. The Bengals can whine all they want, but they should've run away with this one and they have only themselves to blame.

There's the whole tiger thing, but more for Anthony Munoz. I'm a Chiefs fans and pissed at the refs, too, because Chiefs get tarnished by the refs' performance. Feel bad for Ossai, young player trying to do good for his team. Just miscalculated. I expect this wasn't our last encounter with the kitty teams.

I like how the Cowboys season, the Bengals season, and the Packers season (Okay, that was heartbreaking, but we're going to trade Aaron Rodgers and see what Jordan Love has) all looped from 2021-2022 season to 2022-2023 seasons. Great editing!!

I think Joe Burrow is more than good enough to win a SB. You put him on that Eagles team or 49ers team he's winning a SB. But that o-line will keep letting him down. Even if they somehow pulled it out against the Chiefs, the Eagles front seven would have feasted on Burrow in the SB. It would have been last years SB all over again.
We also have the team elsewhere for a superbowl win. This season we had a sneakily good defense. Our Offense is explosive. Our main issues were the lack of utilization of Mixon/Perine and our Oline issues. OLine is just a matter of staying healthy when it was healthy it was fine. In this upcoming draft I'm sure we will add atleast 1 more to the Oline pool but I wouldn't be surprised to see us beefing up our CBs and Safeties and possibly a RB in a later round if we want to get rid of Mixon.
That was my exact reaction to the week 13 Chiefs game as I was there in person. Picking a game to go to was the hardest thing ever but it was so worth it.
