Great vid! Could you please enlighten me about when I should apply for a training contract if I want to start in 2025? (Currently third year BA LLB student from India) thanks!
Now is the time. Lots of big law firms open their application for starting 2 years later. Some of the law firmâs application for TC in 2025 are gone, but there are still some left. You also have law firms that you can apply in 2024 to start in 2025. That will depend on each firm, so you need ro check the website of the law firms that interest you.
Keep them coming sis. Youâre an inspiration. One question. Do you think it will be harder for a ethnic minority to secure a training contract? If so, what can they do to overcome such obstacles? I understand this is a contentious issue. Your employers probably monitor this page. If you do not want to comment I completely understand. More power to you!
thank you so much! I wouldn't necessarily say it would be harder - of course there is bias sometimes and judgement, as you can get in any field. I haven't personally experienced anything like that. if anything I use my ethnic minority background to an advantage, I use it as a means of making me stand out and also to filter which firm was right for me. At the end of the day, the firm I picked was one that accepted me for me, and I wanted to be in that supportive environment â€ïž
can you apply to vacation schemes in your 3rd year of law degree?
Yes, most firms open their vac schemes applications for those in their 2nd year and above. It's worth double checking the eligibility requirements for every firm you want to apply for on their website :)
