How I obtained 3 Vacation Scheme offers | Application tips, Commercial Awareness, My Journey
I am back from my trip to Thailand and wanted to make a video after the application cycle this year with some tips for you guys. If you are planning on applying for vacation schemes this year come and watch along. As somebody who applied to co-op jobs this year, I can 1000% relate to quality over quantity. First time around, applied to 50+ (yes you read that right) and got none. Second time applied to around 5 and got 4 interviews, 3 of which resulted in offers. It really does make a difference to dedicate more time to each application! Hi Amy, I have a question. I also did the commercial law virtual internship and I was wondering whether to add that to my corporate experience section or as a extra curricular as it was virtual and not like a vacation scheme
Hey! If it was me I would add it to commercial experience. There is lots of learning and networking and just as beneficial as it being in person

Thank you so much! I think all of the firms I applied for offered that. Most will say on the application section on their website 😊

Hi Amy, I am currently applying for vacation schemes and have reached the work experience section, there’s a box for skills and responsibilities, would you suggest to link every skill/responsibility back to why I want to be a commercial lawyer or would that not be appropriate for that section yet, thanks so much x
Hey! If there is room and words then link it back, this is an example from one of my applications. So after I had described my role and what I did, obviously just to give you an idea xx
I gained invaluable insights into the legal world and developed my knowledge of financial services and banking. This taught me the basics of how employees conduct themselves in the workplace, and how to connect with clients. This also gave me a great understanding of the work ethic required to succeed in such a fast-paced environment and solidified my desire to work in this sector.
