That is history for you, history that will never be forgotten, the more you see John Farnham sing and just talk, you will see why he is an Aussie legend and an all round great person. He's just not our legend because he can sing, he's an Aussie legend because he is the whole package.

Hey hey it's Saturday,is one of the two tv programs that kept him going, when no radio would play him. Sometimes he was a guest, sometimes on the panel. The man sitting next to him was a music promoter, who had his own segment. They have been friends since his teenage years.

Yo. Tom Jones has an amazing voice. I don’t necessarily seek him out to listen to but when I do hear him it’s always great. He does the voice U.K. and he sang I’ll never fall in love again with Peter Donegan, whose the son of Lonnie Donegan ( who wrote the song for Tom) - it was a lovely moment. It made we check out the original and it’s a beautiful, sad song. Tom sang it live on the Dusty Springfield show in 67- and 50 years later his voice was still incredible 💜

John is like that with every famous person who knows him. It still surprises him and he is humble. They ended up great friends and John did a concert for his 50th Birthday. The back of the stage turned into a screen, it was Tom dropping in from his show in Vegas to sing Happy Birthday because he couldn’t come.
It was the same when John got cancer. He was surprised at the love that poured in, he thought we forgot him in two years. Never happen. His Biopic Finding The Voice is on CZcams, you should watch it and see just how hard it was for John to be allowed to sing his music his way, thank you.

The names etc they are talking about is for a nationwide concert that was held on the same night with top acts in each state - so Angels were performing in Adelaide I think, Ian Moss in Perth and so on. It was a celebration of Australian music where people would come out of retirement for one night to perform and, if I remember correctly, they had video link ups between the venues so you would see some of the bands from the other states. John Farnham have done concerts together. John Farnham is a lovely and humble person and very well-liked inside and outside the music industry. Molly Meldrum, known for his Aussie hat, was a powerful mover in the music industry here and was a homosexual. John has done quite a number of performances with famous, world-known singers and they always sang his praises. This show was an 2-3 hour institution , from Melbourne, and went for many years. Aussies would watch it before going out for the night. I was one of those glued in every Saturday night. It promoted a lot of the great Aussie talent. One of the Aussie bands mentioned was The Black Sorrows. They were a fantastic Melbourne band. Check out the video clip, beginning with motor-bikes, of them singing, 'Never Let Me Go.' You'll be blown away with the talent ! As for Tom Jones, he grew up in the South Wales valleys in the UK, near where my parents and ancestors came from. The Welsh have music in their hearts. Much of their culture revolved around it.

John Farhnam is basically a bloody plumber at heart, it just so happens that he could sing. From what contemporaries have told me, he's a fantastic bloke to tour with. I was a roadie, did a gig with for him in 80/81, the band were not the best from memory, not many punter's at the gig. Then he replaced Glenn Shorrock in LRB, not really him. LRBs manager, Glen Wheatley saw the potential, took out a mortgage on his house to produce the Whispering Jack Album. The rest is history. Hi Mike, I'm Ali, an Aussie who grew up hearing John's music and loving it the moment I heard it. I literally just found your channel about 30 minutes ago and clicked on your "Help" reaction spontaneously to see what it's about. I've seen a lot of Farnsy's reactions by people over the last several months and I like yours. Can't wait to check out some more of your videos. Do you share your own music on your channel? :)
To give you a little context of some of the conversation in the clip. Ian (Molly) Meldrum is a music "critic". He had his own show called Countdown and used to do the segment, Molly's Melodrama, on Hey Hey, which was a live weekly light entertainment that went for many years. He and the show introduced so many new and incredible artists to Australia that remain well known and loved to this day.
If my memory serves me, the reference to concerts in other towns and states (eg, Adelaide, Tassie (Tasmania) etc), were referring to a series of charity concerts that were organised to raise money, probably (similar things were done many times over the years) in response to a natural disaster, such as fires, floods or droughts. John was always willing to get involved in events like that. He really cares for his community and fellow humans.
John is an incredible artist and a just as incredible human.

Hey welcome to the channel. Hope to see you around. I love that Australia loves their heroes so much. That’s often lacking here in Canada.
I have quite a bit of myself playing on CZcams and a few of my own tunes too. I often put them on my end screens. ✌️ ❤️

I'm guessing its my age but they were referring to the Australia Made concerts (an awesome concept devised by Michael Gudinski to promote Australian music ). That bloke was a genius who launched Barnesy, INXS and Kylie, just to name a smidgen. I would be here all day if i mentioned all the artists he's influenced and unfortunately i'm on my 8th beer, so i'm shutting up for everyone's sake. Thanks for the reaction.

Watched this at the time. They set John up (and Tom). John was seriously in awe of Tom and at that time Tom was the better singer (slightly 😊) because of all his experience. Off the back of this they ended up touring together. By that time John was in no way inferior.

Johns always humble and its why internationals visitors always wanted to sing with john
Their are others where they sing full songs together
He even sang with ray Charles on stage as well
The poofter thing was molly he travelled the world as entertainment personality and run music show and promote their music and clips
He's as gay as you get never hidden the fact so when john caleed himself a poofter molly wacked him
Molly was the but of heaps of jokes on the show
As for all the bands they couldve been playing with john
Not sure but think it may have been for charity and why tickets where cheap to raise money john and glen arranged many of them
John even came out of retirement to sing in them organised by glen last one was hay day for farmers in drough stricken Australia 🇦🇺
The farmers had no money to buy hay not even food for themselves or families some couldn't afford bullets to kill the stock
Unfortunately the farmers with the bails had givem away as much as they could afford to
So they thrown a concert to raise millions to buy hay for they animals and Aussie's around Australia 🇦🇺 donated food and other stuff for the families to survive it got them through until weather broke and rains
We have droughts here that can last 5 / 10 yrs very little rain so not food for animals
It was the last time john sang he found out just after that had jaw cancer then lost 2 close friends Oliver Olivia and glen on top of it all
