According to a study published in the Journal of Glaciology, the loss of glacier mass in Antarctica’s western region is being offset by thickening of glaciers on the continent’s eastern interior, which has experienced increased snowfall. This has resulted in a net gain of about 100 billion tons of ice per year1. A new NASA study on the Antarctic Ice Sheet says that an increase in Antarctic snow accumulation that began 10,000 years ago is currently adding enough ice to the continent to outweigh the increased losses from its thinning glaciers2. Although some Antarctic regions have experienced reductions in sea ice extent, the overall trend since 1979 shows increased ice3.

Certain ecosystems are failing, others are expanding. Populations that can't migrate are in danger, other populations are thriving.
We definitely change the make up of biodiversity and ecologies, we aren't destroying the planet.
I think it would help if we were more precise with explaining it.

My concern is, at this rate how dangerous is desalination of our oceans by simple dilution. I'm thinking particularly of the life in both the Pacific & Atlantic southern areas adjacent to Antarctica.

      1. There is no possibility of the world's ocean losing its salt.
The salt comes from the rock on the ocean bottom.
Just as soon as water arrived here during late heavy bombardment 4 billion yrs ago, the water began to absorb salt from the rock.
Exhibit A: demonstrating the fact that you don't know anything about science.
      2. There have been many glaciations and many greenhouse periods in Earth's 4.58 billion year geologic history.
Explain to us how the ocean maintained its salinity through just one of those transitions?
      EXHIBIT B:
Another reason to point the fact that you don't understand science.
