I was at the stadium, and you could see the players were just not interested in the game. Either they were tired mentally or they just didn't care about winning or as a friend said, they didn't want to risk injuries (remember what happened to Aidoo). Last night, I saw a wide range of people at the stadium supporting the Black Stars. I saw white people in Ghana colors. People from other African countries (Somalians, Nigerians, Congolese etc.) living in Nashville area were at the stadium. I actually gave a ride to a guy from Sierra Leone who was more disappointed than us Ghanaians after the game. Unlike some of us who live within 25-mile radius of the stadium, I met a guy who came all the way from North Dakota (a state in the US), a distance of 1,352.4 miles and 20 hours of driving, to cheer the players but look at what happened. Some of my friends brought their kids (some as young as 8 months) to this late game (we left the stadium around 10 pm). They risked their kids being late or absent from school this morning (in the US, skipping school or being late to school is a big deal), all in the name of love for Mother Ghana. To say Ghanaians here are very disappointed here is a big understatement. People have sworn never to go see Ghana play again and I don't blame them.

Never put the blame on the players, all the blame should go to the technical staffs of Black Star. I don't know the current crop of Ghanaian players, but I made some observations: The Black Stars formation was not working, and the coach did not alter it. The U.S. were defending them in their own half. The Ghanaian team could have adjusted by bringing more players back and pressing for the ball. Instead, they kept passing the ball around in their own half. Even when they managed to advance the ball, they couldn't hold it because their movements were predictable. The players settled for 4-0.
