For whatever reason, ZZZ needs 110 GB to unpack its 50 GB files. It probably could be done without the unpacking part, so I don't know why Hoyoverse set it up that way.

Meanwhile this game despite having far less ‘combat assets’ and ‘event asset’ and ‘content dolled out, ends up rivaling or exceeding its predecessors, even its open world predecessor who has 5 regions, plus another 5 or so sub regions.
Moral of the story: Just go play punishing gray raven instead. Game is 3 years in and its GB size is still a mere 14GB and every character gets an outfit on release with over 90% of them can be straight up farmed for free.

the prerendered cutscenes in zzz are rendered at atleast 1440p , a 20 min 1440p video can occupy as high as 2 Gigabytes and zzz has a "bit" more than 20 minutes of videos
i usually record the games i play with friends to have funny clips that we can laugh at later and my 2 tb hard drive that i bought specifically to hold recordings has 800 Gb filled
for only ~ 60 hours of footage

it's pretty obvious where all the file size went. ZZZ visually has a lot more stuff in it compared to the other hoyo games. It's all in the textures and the animations. Just being inside the video store, there's a lot of stuff in it compared to probably the whole of mondstadt. and all of that was running smoothly. im still getting fps drops with hsr and genshin, but combat is smooth af in zzz, on pc. there is some input lag in the menus of zzz, though (probably asset loading in the background). sometimes i have to press keys multiple times just to confirm or cancel in the menus.

When I re-downloaded Genshin it displayed 75-90 GB last time I installed it, which was on PS5.
ZZZ for PS5 was 57 possibly as you said, or higher, I do not remember.
Which is considerably close, at least a difference of 18 GB.
Either way, it's insane for a 1.0 to have that much.
Plus, my Genshin isn't over 100 GB I think.

OBJECTION! The game is actually around 50-60 GB, the 110 are only for unpacking the game but in reality its 50 GB like them. But still yes, it's quite a lot too.
Kinda makes no sense that it takes 110 to unpack. If that was the case, the game would be 220 Gb overall.
I think main season why its so big is to force wuwa players on phone to un-install the game, so they can install the inferior thing.
@@Bullminator it has always been like that. it installs a zip file (which takes storage) then unzip it (adding up to the original zip file), and THEN deletes the zip file. so that means both the zip + unzip is 110 gb.

The reason it won't go down is because the main story is replayable anytime. With future updates its just going to keep increasing.
I'm sure they'll add the possibility of deleting old stuff older players no longer need later on like they did with Genshin.

One reason ZZZ may be so big is that I'm fairly certain it contains all voice data languages now. The downloads are still there, but it's just a token 3mb activation file.
