I was initially going to comment how awesome and unique the ending was but now I realized the signs on the side in the beginning say "RUN" and "DAM UNSAFE" which makes it so much cooler.
Damn, This was great! Channel 5 News never gets enough love as one of Bo's songs, and this feels perfect! I know that the comments have spoke on this, but the facial expressions and raw emotion in the movements is phenomenal! Especially for Max, the weather guy. The cold, dead stare into the camera with the eerie half-smile really portrays the gravity of his mindset in the song. My only complaint is that you cut it off with the flood and stopped the music.. It would've been interesting if you kept the flood, but still kept the song fading out as it is in the actual song, as it pans over the destruction of the city... that would add another layer to the story, I suppose. But yes, yes! This was great!

I actually found the song cutting off at the flood pretty cool, since it wouldn't make sense for them to say "We're back" because they got wiped out by the flood, but it's art, so we always have different interpretations of it!
I thought the song couldn't get better, everyone needs bo burnham to see this. It's the kind of beautiful and new form of animating creating a visual to go with his song so perfectly he'd love it I'm sure of it.
all the characters are so expressive! i actually really liked them even though i know how dark the song is supposed to be then the holding hands into a hug at the end was really cute
This reminds me of the time the governor at the time came to our town and did a segment at our house. It was completely flooded and as they were doing the segment they asked for people's love and support stuff like that. Then they left. They f ing left without helping at all. No fundraiser no nothing Our town had to contact all the local authorities. Mind you it was like 200 people. To clean up the town. Might be a bit exauraded as I was like 5 but I remember the whole town being pissed.
this animatic is amazing!! the foreshadowing is amazing of the disaster that happens, the expressions and posing of all the characters is amazing and it's so clear to see how little anyone cares about anything serious that's going on in favor for things that aren't what should be focused on, and even the selfishness od the two main reporters in how they push away the purple coded one. the ending was amazing, truly an awesome animatic, keep up the amazing work, this definitely deserves so so much more attention then what its got already.
Yeah you think about how the purple one, Chip Walker, and the rouge one, Max Stevens, are, by having names, more important, as well as Max talking about his greed, possibly him being the one that was in charge of Channel 5 News, and yet the blue and purple unnamed ones are the anchors, the focus there. It's interesting.
This is by far the best animatic/edit of this song I have seen, the faces and actions perfectly convey the emotions and the setting for that last part is great. 10/10 would pay for a full animation if i could afford it
I saw this other comment about how you could've ended with the song fading out with shots of the destroyed town, and while that would've been cool, I actually really like how you modified the song at the end and a bit in the middle by adding static (i'm pretty sure). I thought that was a really cool artistic choice and I thought the animations were really well made as well. If you ever want to make a full animation I'll be glad to see it. Otherwise, I'm subscribed and can't wait to see what you do next :)

Can we talk about the graphic at 1:07? It’s a graph asking if the news station is doing a good job, and even though way more people answered no (184 to the only 80 who responded yes), yet the bar is much smaller for no. This is a very common trick for news stations to use to trick viewers into thinking something is more or less popular without technically lying about the numbers. Very clever and fitting for Channel 5, and shows the dedication to detail in this animation!
That definitely made me feel fear for a moment. I genuinely forgot this was an artists animation of a comedians song making fun of an untrustworthy new station.
Oh my gosh, I've watched this so much and only just noticed that even though the 'no they aren't doing a good job' bar is the lowest it has the most responses! I love this animatic it has great art and details

I'm not sure if your recording is different than the one I listen to but if ya did some audio edits when it was shifting to the weather guy it sounded really cool. I think it could've been interesting if the last part of the song that says "we're back" and after that you cut out could've shifted to a series of different news teams doing the same thing as this team was sliced with images of the destroyed remains of this news station. That being said I've watched this like 5 times now and I love this animatic. You've done some really incredible work and I hope you recognize that even if CZcams doesn't.

Anyone else notice this song uses the same musical motif as "repeat stuff?" Prolly a coincidence, but the two songs both represent a superficiality of a larger network, so maybe having the same musical theme repeat between the songs establishes that connection. Pretty neat if that's the case, especially since the "repeat stuff" motif goes away in the grim ending section.
the motif that I'm talking about isn't rhythmic, but the same notes are used in the chorus of this song and the second half of the verses of "repeat stuff"
