Hi, just saw your video on FRM, I'm working in FP&A profile past 12 years, I have 4 years exp in Internal Audit (2006 to 2010).is market welcome career switching from FP&A To Risk side. I'm ultra scared of Book 2 quants. How to crack it. Joined in wall Street school for FRM coaching 2 years back but didn't take up exams because of work commitment.
Definitely can move into risk because internal audit is associated with risk function only and you have a solid experience in finance that can be beneficial. So I think market can value but you'll have to portray your experience to be relevant and network for it. Coming to quant, I agree that the book can be difficult to crack but you can just focus on 3 things - memorize formulas where needed, learn how to apply formulas to Qs, and understand what the solutions mean in the given context. Don't go in depth and try to uncover the theoretical basis of formulas and concepts etc. Just practice more on solving Qs using formulas and then spend time understanding the results.
Please suggest good coaching institute , last year i already attempted and i know nothing , I took the coaching of REBI CLASSES of DEEPAK GOYAL , didn't found any useful I. Got. This year again I'm looking forward to give another attempt in November 2k23
I would say that by now you should already know your strong and weak points. Just work on them using CZcams and other freely available resources instead of just jumping on to some coaching.
Hello vaibhav. I work in a Psb. I want to do FRM. Daily i have to leave for my office at 8 clock in the morning and i return from my office at 8 clock in the evening. Please guide me regarding Book and time management. I am from non commerce bank ground.

Hi. As the coachings related to FRM claims that they provide placement assistance which i think becomes important coz without the relevant experience we cannot get the certification. So my question is how important do you think coachings become or how can we get that relevant experience especially if we are looking for a carrer change with FRM?
If you clear both levels and apply then chances are you'll get opportunities. Then later you can apply for the certification with the relevant work experience. How impactful are coaching institutions in providing placements is unknown to me so can't comment.
I would side with CFA unless you are sure about risk. CFA is much broader and will give you better exposure whereas FRM will take you deeper into risk.
Sure, solid certification to add. However, full worth is only when you are into risk management at the bank...so with this, you can try to move towards risk.
Little chances of you applying that knowledge but you'll understand requirements better in your job. Other than that I don't think it will help you move into a functional/business role (from a software role) with just the FRM. If however, you plan to get into risk post MBA then FRM can give you a great edge.

Hi Vaibhav! Informative video. I had a question regarding the study material. Is it possible to get the study material from the official site or any other flat form and later schedule the exam or do we need to prepare in 3-4 months only?
You can get slightly older printed study material at low cost from some providers. You can study from those books but you'll also get soft copy of the material once you register for the exam.
@vaibhavnagar91 I used BT as primary source although kaplan was very useful especially for valuation and modelling it was very good. I did not go t hrough kaplan mcqs nor Garp past papers. I did bt mcqs all the way till just 14 hours before the exam... before going to exam I was okayish and after exam I felt confident and then after 15 days when I had gone through all the answers I knew I was through.. just wasn't sure by how much and that was big surprise
Hi thank a lot for your view, May you guide me that I am working in bank sector since 2010 and having 6 year working experience in SME Corporate credit. Will it give me a great opportunity and also tell me what should I have to do with FRM Thanks in advance.
If you want to move towards risk then sure. You can also use that to bet into treasury risk management (mid office) but I guess an easier path would be credit risk. FRM can definitely help you learn the risk stuff and add a solid credential to your profile that signals your expertise and interest!
First, executive MBA is a part time MBA but 1 year full time MBA is not. It is full time but has minimum mandatory work experience requirement. Second, academics do play a role in admissions to 1 year full time MBA but not as much as the 2 year program for freshers. However, for aspirants with poor past acads, maximising GMAT is the way to compensate in academics.
Pls chk out the website if this is a mandatory requirement from undergrad perspective. However, maths is definitely needed to understand & crack FRM syllabus
One can develop expertise in risk and FRM is the best certification to do that so it can open up opportunities yes. But future advancement is dependent on work ex.
