Y’all really need to do “bottom” from this album
Yes! And Prison Sex
Good choices
Let me plug in "Intolerance" as well.
Really can't go wrong, tool could be their first "full discography review" 😜
Dead In-siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiddddde !!!!!
TOOL - Eulogy
the first song I ever heard from TOOL
immediately hooked me... and it's my favorite band ever since. Something about the AEnima album, it's hard to explain how special that album sounds to me.
Tool lost keys and rosseta stoned
This song is about the progression of addiction. I've been listening to Tool since 92. They have evolved from an angry aggressive band to an ethereal thought provoking experience. I've loved them from the beginning ,when they were a California band playing the songs from Opiate and undertow before the first record deal.
But what kind of addiction? I know Maynard has written about addiction from a 3rd party perspective before...but he's written far more about addiction to love.
Great reaction! This album has some great songs, I’d suggest also doing Prison Sex, Bottom but really they are all great. This early harder Tool sound is what made most of us OGTs fall in love with Tool. Definitely gotta get that Aenima Album reaction done soon too. Keep up the great work guys.
Anytime I hear or see someone say OGT I instantly imagine them sipping coke and wearing vans lol not saying that reference applies to you just that it brings it to mind.
Jon Connor definitely sipping a Diet Pepsi but never owned any Vans, lol but I get it, I almost didn’t even use that phrase because that visual, but I’ve been a Tool fan from the beginning so that name fits.
@@mpfiveO Yeah it does here too, not quite 92 with the EP even though I have bought and listened to it but 93 is pretty close, god that is crazy that I have been listening to Tool for that long, probably longer than some of the people watching these videos have been alive...now I feel old lol.
Tool - 46 & 2 ,Rosetta Stoned or Third Eye
Love the entire Undertow album. So much more straight forward than the more progressive stuff you've heard.
Thank you so much for this review! Your discussion about addiction and suffering is inspiring. I really enjoy your work. Keep it up!
Props to the video!! Great song!!!!
great vid as always guys! i loved the after-discussion, this song is such an epic idea and art-piece. your videos rock!
I appreciate that you guys have the song you’re discussing in the background. Keep up the great work 🌹
Very good guys 🤘🏻💙
Undertow, but still no Rosetta Stoned? REEEEEEEEEE
No wait that will blow their minds they're not read yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love when I see reactors get into an then fall in love with Tool... You guys are awesome! Shout out to Hectic also who needs to do a Maynard Monday now lol
Finally Tool again!!! Much love to both of you.
Have a great day Vin and Sori...
...Hail to The Village!!
I’m not Christian nor do I fall under a specific religion but your conversation really resonated with me about suffering and it isn’t how happy we are or our rights in life it’s our duty. If we’re suffering we need to learn how to deal with our suffering. We are all suffering and will continue. I appreciate it guys 🌹
Great reaction. This song totally expresses struggles I've overcome.
Holding pre-Lateralus Tool to post-Lateralus standards isnt right. Artists learn, mature, and grow and so does thier music. I think it is okay to compare bands to previous work, but not to things that hadn't even been produced when the song in question came out.
pre lateralus tool > post lateralus tool
Ethan Peterson i noticed something people like pre Lateralus tool better. I used to too. But the less angry I get the more I like post Lateralus tool.
Yay more Tool! 😍🤘💙
When Undertow came out I was in college the cassette spent over a year in my cassette deck in my pickup truck without ever being removed and I never wanted to swap it out. That record.....solid.
Joined the fan club, did a couple grateful dead like trips travelling around the planet seeing their concerts in foreign countries and using them as an excuse to travel the world.
Thanks Tool.
Getting trapped in a real Undertow and riptode is fucking scary. My brother and I got trapped by one in Florida, we were in our late teens and both experienced swimmers and boogie boarders, we ended up over a mile and a half down the beach by the time we got struggled to shore. No boogie boards as floatation devices so we could rest and we'd have both died that day.
Towards the end of your discussion, when you are talking about a person at a low, having access to an immediate high. You already know this, but that's the recipe for addiction and what ruins strong people in a great place who have bad things happen to them, and for people in a bad place that find that refuge. It's human nature that works against us.
Yay yay back to how they started . TOOL!!
Love you both
Great reaction. I've recently been put in a situation that made me very bitter toward addiction and this reaction helped put it more in perspective.
You should really listen to 46 & 2, the lyrics are based on Carl Jung and shit.
They are going to do the entire Aenima Album at once like they did for Lateralus.
@@dfbovey Have they said when that's gonna happen?
I had a weird feeling and popped you tube up. I never clicked a video so fast. Teasing us again I see. You need to do this whole album as well as the Aenima you have been making us wait for. You know you will love it. Then you can start listening to Tool fully open. Good Job guys. Finish it.
Bottom by tool please
Tool always brings forth the best conversations from the two of you.
Such great lyrics in this one
I loved it,since it came out...great song,great album,great band
If possible, do a fireside on addiction and recovery..yes, we DO RECOVER
As one in recovery from addictions (12 years sober, 1 day at a time), I really appreciate your conversation about this song. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to this song over the past 18 years since I became a Tool fan, and somehow I never tried to interpret the lyrics. I think you’re spot on.
This album doesn’t pack the same punch as later Tool, but it’s still miles above most other music from the time. It would be sweet if you reviewed Jerk Off from Tool’s first album, Opiate. Some raw rage they never quite replicated.
Keep it up Man!
"I'm sure he was." The sarcasm was delicious. :D
Bathory - Oden's Ride Over Nordland/A Fine Day to Die
IMPORTANT: the former is an intro that should go with the latter and there's videos that include both of them, but please DO NOT go for the one with HQ in the title (it's only 480p), there's another one that's in 1080p!
Fight the good fight
Vin gets it. I enjoy watching him react to songs. Sori.............
Iced Earth - A Question of Heaven
FINALLY!! Deftones next please... you guys are phenomenal! 👍🤘🎧😝🎶
1993. Imagine how differently this sounded to other rock at that time
joeblerone so ahead of their time
Maybe 'cause I've been drinking a bit (or a lot lol) and it increased my focus a bit
8:44 - 8:50
You were referring to the lifeguard, right? lol
There is a weakness that causes you to fall into addiction, however crawling out of that gives you strength beyond most, it's a strange irony
How the hell did I miss this video?????
Hey Vin! I know you wanna do some KoЯn right? What about Rotting in vain or Got the life? Would be awesome. Have a great day both of you.
I'm beginning to discover Tool now. Impressive. It's a new journey around every corner. How much I'm beginning to appreciate Tool I'm still recommending Allegaeon: Proponent for sentience III the Extermination or Grey matter mechanics. Please try, you just might like them.
Please do ice ts band body count or the biohazard song punishment y'all would love it
Guys, you really need to check out Puscifer. They are another Maynard project. Try the Humbling River.
I saw Tool live shortly after this album came out. It was a powerful experience that I'll never forget! You should check out the rest of this album....it's still one of my favorite Tool albums.
I skipped school to buy this album , I remember listening to it for the first like it was yesterday
Vin is pretty genius with understanding the lyrics 🌹
Came for the Tool, stayed for the Jordan Peterson. Keep it up guys! Fantastic. Thank you
Great review. Please check out 46 & 2.
The waves crash over us in our 9to5 jobs
I love Tool but can you guys react to Wolf by Highly Suspect very Tool inspired along with some NIN. Great review thou!
Can we get a Janes Addiction - 3 Days, Kettle Whistle or Jane Says reaction.
Pretty pleeeaaase!!!! :D :D
When you're riding a high wave and think you've got it all figured out.. and you give in to the water because you think you have it mastered, and then you sink in and get pulled under... and you second guess yourself but assert that you're still okay... but as it grips you and starts dragging you away you realize it has always been stronger and in control. There is no fight because it's never been your enemy. So you give in to the pull. Then you disappear, carried away by it all.
Sori was trying not to laugh at the end🤣
One of those moments where you're in an environment that's quiet and nothing is supposed to be funny but for some reason you want to laugh all of sudden and cant control it.
That happened to me in a courtroom in front of the judge when I was younger, but she played it off better than I did.
That didnt end in my favor.
Flood is the last track and is absolute epic closing. Closes the chapter in this destructive nature in a positive note and starts the spiritual journey for Ænima.
Also, Vin, you are half right on being exposed starting with Lateralus. While I know how you feel about it, you have only heard Half of Tool so far. You are missing the first two (three with opiate) VERY IMPORTANT ALBUMS. Cant wait for you to discover the rest.
Katatonia - Lethean
46 & 2 Let's go!
WoW no words for this one :o
what video are they watching, would appreciate the link. I know Undertow but I cant seem to find this particular video
He is Sori...VIN very good understanding lyrics...
Great job with exploring addiction and enjoyed hearing more about you both. However, for once, you’ve oversimplified a Tool song :-) Later on you’ll know I’m right.
Good video! You guys are awesome!Suggestion for next Song reaction: Slipknot - Metabolic
AYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FINALLLLLY
Fuck the ocean, I’ve almost died from being smashed by waves. And in high school a lot of my friends went to a sail boat race and during the race a huge storm rolled through, one of my friends got stranded alone after the boat he was on flipped for about 4 hours and was luckily rescued. Others including another person from my school were not so lucky. His body turned up about a week later. I didn’t know him very well, but we had very many mutual friends who were great friends of his
The power of suggestion about the meaning to Sori before she had a thought of what the song is about.
rx7dude2006 what are you implying?
Greatest album of all time, and you guys are reviewing while sick. You guys seem out of it. That said, you did get the point of it. Kuddos.
This album is about abuse and addiction. Listen to it the entire way through with that in mind.
More Tool please.
Holy shiiiittt!!!
Therapy? - Me vs You
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy shit, Vin. Your words about the current socio-political climate are refreshing. I want to hang out.
Check out the other channel middle America
This album was the greatest album I purchased as a teen in high school. Nothing else sounded like it. I still have it, as scratched up as the CD is... I think they had to censor the booklet and the image behind the CD holder (a cow licking its ass) in later releases. This entire album is a 10. Little did we know the magic to follow.
You guys should do a Tool EP review of "Opiate", it's short, but fucking amazing. First time I got to hear Maynard's live vocals.
Carach angren - When crows tick on windows
Haunting Echoes From the Seventeenth Century
Wow, I had to search to realize they haven't done 46&2. Research the song's meaning, then react. Hell, before I researched it, it was still an amazing song back in '96.
you guys should do a song by puscifer, thats maynards 3rd band, do "the remedy" or "conditions of my parole"
Bathory - Oden Rides Over Nordland/A Fine Day To Die
My guy, at the frontlines!
@@yra9568 ye
Check out Summoning - South Away (Lyric Video), greetings from Sweden.
Inquisition - Bloodshed Across the Empyrean Altar Beyond the Celestial Zenith.
Anthrax - In My World, Indians, Inside Out and What Doesn't Die
Guys, please help me get Sabaton! Veteran's Day is coming up!
"To Hell and Back" music video or "The Price of a Mile" lyric video!
Again you have shined a total different light on this song I have sang for going on 30 yrs lol smh wtf wtg
I just assumed it was about male on male pedophilia. Prison Sex and 4° are but Sober is about addiction so yeah it makes sense.
Intolerance is a great song to dissect Vin
Nice!!!!! more tool!!!!
Please do Ghost - Avalanche! You probably won’t recognize the sound of it. One of Ghost’s best covers - for sure!
The guy who made that lyric video, use contrasting colors for the text!
As much as I want more Tool you two should really check out more A Perfect Circle also if I remember correctly an Aenima full album review will be in the works so at least there is that. A Perfect Circle though you need more of it, a full album review of Thirteenth Step would actually be interesting. Here is a list of great A Perfect Circle songs you could review...
A Perfect Circle - Pet
A Perfect Circle - 3 Libra's
A Perfect Circle - The Noose
A Perfect Circle - The Package
A Perfect Circle - Weak and Powerless
A Perfect Circle - Disillusioned
A Perfect Circle - The Doomed
A Perfect Circle - TalkTalk
A Perfect Circle - Passive
All of those would be great listens and could promote an interesting discussion if I narrow it down 1 it would have to be Pet just because I am really curious to hear your thoughts on it but TalkTalk would also be interesting to hear your thoughts on see if I keep going down that road I will make a case for all of them so I am just gonna end it there.
Gotta love Tool! Next how about Inside The Fire by Disturbed (official video). Much requested and Sori gives those Disturbed songs 9 or 10's. :)
I want to see a reaction to a live version of this song
*_PARADISE LOST - TRUE BELIEF_*
Iron Maiden-Phantom of the Opera (live at the Rainbow or live at Ullevi)
Arch Enemy - We Will Rise + Fields of Desolation (LIVE Tyrants of the Rising Sun)
The Piper Never Dies - Edguy
Are you guys still going to do Aenima and The Wall full album listen?
The Slavinator they’re going to do aenima some day
Very good song, thank you guys.
Please react to "Nothing Is Not" by Morbid Angel and "In Their Darkened Shrines" by Nile you'll enjoy them.
Lots of King Crimson in this one. Great song.
Edge of Sanity - Crimson (yes, all of it!!)
Tool- Opiate..also, I’m gonna have to ask you guys to go ahead and just listen to the whole Aenima album ✌️
EPICA - Kingdom of Heaven (Live video)
Sober was MY first TOOL song too!
Fell in love with them instantly, been happily married ever since.
TOOL is one of my musical soul mates.
Whoooo hoooo! TOOL!!!!
