Thanks Captain. I used your technique to fly Acro last year, It was perfect. One year later I finally feel comfortable flying FPV.
Great to hear!
Thanks mate.
I just had the Avata 2 delivered to me today. I am never going back to analog :D . The video quality and the goggles are amazing. Im not sure Im gonna like this motion controller. Only flown for about 10 mins so have not given it a fair shake yet. More than likely going to order the FPV controller. Just hard to plunk down 200$ for what should be a 60 or 70 controller after dropping 1200$.
Very good tutorial. Important informations. Liked. Have a nice time.
What a great video very well said.,great tutorial. As a private pilot you hit the nail right on the head. Drones same thing. Kudos
Thanks for another great video! I'm really enjoying my Avata.
And I STILL have a big head. Very helpful, and entertaining at the same time.
Oh, wow. Thank you for making these videos.!!!!👍👍👍👍
And Thank you for your videos I have learned so much from you 🙏
Great tutorial Captain 🧑✈️. Got my Avata 2 few days ago. Really excited to learn FPV flying.l, but a little nervous 😅 You’re the best drone pilot.
Gerry
Steve, you earned your "Captain wings" many years ago for sure but with this excellent tutorial, we must now confer you with another Title..that is.. drum roll please! "Professor Drone"
Congrats on another great job.
Wow, thanks! Time to invest in “Professor” type suits that are much too large and wrinkled. 😁
Another great video. Thanks captain...
Great video. Thank you
Thanks, Cap'n -- great video 👍
your the GOAT DRONE TUBER😊
Thank for a great tutorial!❤
Very helpfull. Thank you
Morning ❤
Thank you for this training video. Do recommend practicing on a simulator before trying to fly the drone (avata 2) in manual mode.
Yes. Simulators give FPV pilots confidence.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798any recommendations for a good sim for the avata 2?
Even though you lost me a bit at the 17:35 mark (does that make sense), this is easily one of your most enjoyable ones! I appreciate all the effort you put into this ❤
Good job!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
what simulator did you use?
Fun video ! 😃
I would like to try a sim one day .
Thanks Cap !
I had a little head when I was small, loll,Great video steve.
Excelentte…I learned a lot with your video!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the great video. I started with the Aquilia 16 that I saw in one of your videos. I’ve been flying R/C since I was 13 when built my first Cessna’ish high wing trainer with a .40 OS 2stroke and a 4 Channel Airtronics Tx. I’m just giving background that I think is the cause of the problem I’m having.
Starting with the Aquilia 16 VFR(without goggles) is gravy. I’m having a huge problem with the goggles . Partly the camera angle needed love so I pulled it apart, fixed the mounting and clearanced some plastic. That made a big difference. So I kept finding things to fix. I replaced the monopole wire antenna on the video Tx module with an inverted F and pushed the power up. So now the quality of the video is perfect, but I still can’t stand having the goggles on my face.
Is it still FPV flying if I’m flying the drone while displaying the video feed on my 50” Garage Flat screen TV. I’m serious about the TV… It wasn’t hard to do and it’s so much more comfortable.
Do you know of any way to desensitize myself to the goggles, short of wearing them around town..? Any wisdom will be greatly appreciated
What exactly is the issue with wearing the FPV goggles? The fit? The image? Makes you nauseous?
Best tutorial out there!!
Wow, thanks!
Great video
Thanks!
Thanks for the heads up buddy. I still only own the Mini 3 Pro and I want the avada 2 but everyone keeps trying to talk me out of it as a first-time fpv I think it would be perfect
Yes, it is an excellent drone kit to get into the FPV hobby. But you will need to by the Remote 3 as well.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 in order to use full agro mode or whatever it's called or I can do flips and stuff
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
another great video Captain
Thank you kindly
Good tutorial Steve
Thanks!
Great stuff! Also not sure if new googles3 and rc3 is backward compatible with O3.
Not yet as DJI wants to sell the Goggles 3 for a min of six months prior to making them backwards compatible
Great Tutorial. Learning a lot on Man mode. Got a question? What speed does the A2 descend in a dive in MM ? Is the angle of camera forward and drone is falling forward straight down in MM? Is the angle much steeper vs Sport mode in a dive?
You can dive at 90 degrees in manual mode if desired.
Interesting but why not explain that the manual mode rates can be tamed way dow to reduce sensitivity at the sticks, making manual mode way controllable in manual mode?
It would be a terrible idea to adjust FOV rates/PIDS on any FOV QUAD. It would be like teaching a blind person to drive a car in traffic.
Having flown numerous aircraft with ailerons, elevator, power and rudder,I see a similarity between my planes in coordinated turns using rudder and power on the left and on the right is my ailerons and elevator...
Close ?
Pilots who fly FPV drones then become masters of RC plane flight as FPV Pilots use rudder.
does anybody know of a good simulator for the avata 2?
I just got my rc controller today, Ive done the setup but I barely have any throttle, it's so bad that I can't even recover ftom a small dive. Is there any throttle settings I can adjust?
That never happens unless you change settings. If you changed settings you may have messed things up, or you are stuck in beginner mode still. You can always go into the goggles and do a joystick calibration.
What simulator do you use, Cuz i want to teach my kid on a simulator before give him the drone
that one is DJI Virtual Flight
1:36 what micro drone is that
Here it is: czcams.com/video/6UzoTm7YBmY/video.htmlsi=m0mZNCi2oLDwQh0t
Unfortunately FpV controller 3 is not yet supported by the DJI Simulator
I don't think it will ever be
And how do I learn this if no simulator is yet compatible with the FPV Controller 3 of the Avata 2?
You need to buy yourself an RC hobby Radio, like the Radiomaster Pocket, and then go on the STEAM site and find all the FPV SIMS. Or if you are poor, simply use the same DJI Sim I’ve shown in this video, but play it with your two thumbs vice using a DJI Remote.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I've got Avata 2 and Goggles 3. Are you confirming it is not possible to use the sim your are demontrating with the Goggles 3 and controller?
@@thedemidogproductionsAs of this time (May 2024) DJI Virtual sim only works with Goggles 2 or Goggles version 1 & 2 & remote 2 & motion 1 & 2. There is no support for goggles 3, motion 3 & remote 3.
really love your videos
am subscribed, i will be very happy if i can receive one of your DJI drones
thanks
Is there a simulator available for avata 2 users with no goggles 2 and fpv remote 2?
there is an AVATA2 sim, but it does use goggles or remote. You just play it on your phone. If you have a DJI Store Account login to see it, then click on EXPLORE.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thanks! And i think i was a bit unclear with my question. What i meant was that is there a simulator for the goggles 3 INSTEAD of goggles 2. But looks like i got the answer anyway.
I love my avatar 1 is it worth upgrading to the avata 2 ❓
Nope.
Watch my AVATA 2 tutorial video which runs through everything that makes the AVATA 2 popular. This will then let you decide if you need the new features of the Avata 2 or not.
from what i understood, you're saying the avata 2 in manual mode will lose self-balance, right?
All beginner stability goes away in manual mode
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 today I tested manual, I am lucky I didn't damage the drone. The moment it lifted off, it went crazy! No self balancing at all, exactly like you said.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798unfortunately the dji flight simulator doesn't support avata 2 and its controller 3. I guess I will give up, use the motion controller instead.
Is there a playlist for this series? I only found an fpv playlist with 31 videos, so that's probably not it.
Just do a search for CAPTAIN DRONE FPV FOR BEGINNERS. All 14 episodes will show up.
Well done, Captain - thank you for getting right to the point without all the bla, bla, bla side talk
I will have to watch this for fun and for the simulator...so not into fpv though nope it's not for everyone and it's alright to not like it. 😂😊
My Avata 2 doesn't connect with the virtual flight app, I've tried everything, do you know what I should do? Something I'm doing wrong?
Watch my vid again… I clearly say the AVATA 2 is not supported in the Virtual Flight App.
Awesome tutorial. I wish this was done earlier
I’m scared
Why is every damn video of this in the same stick mode? I fly mode 3 with my mini 3 pro and mavic 3 pro so I want to stay mode 3 with the avata 2 but I can't find a single video that shows how to change the manual to that mode.
In case you are unaware. Mode 2 is the most popular stick mode in the RC hobby, followed by Mode 1. Mode 3 is the minority so you’ll find it difficult to find popular channels on CZcams flying Mode 3.
Short answer: mode 3 is mode 1 with a different software setting in the remote or drone. (Yaw and roll switched) Just remove the spring tensioner on the other side of the remote.
If you have chosen mode 3 because you have flown model airplanes for 30 years in mode 1 and someone told you you should fly helicopters or quadcopters/drones in mode 3 (like I was):
You do not have the muscle memory yet for flying FPV quads manually due to the funny camera angles from just using rudder and needing combined input, not from flying mode 1 airplanes, mode 3 helicopters or mode 3 DJI drones (I was there). Take a FPV sim (DRL costs €10) and try all 3 modes in acro/expert non auto leveling mode. If none come naturally, train on mode 2
I want fpv captain🫡
manual mode cannot fly at an altitude of 110 meters 🥲🥲😆
You have to be flying in a non-DJI restricted zone to go above 110 meters
Please don't skip the simulator. If you won't do it for the sake of your own wallet, then do it out of respect for other's safety and their property. Jumping into acro/manual without some level of flight training is downright irresponsible.
I'm seeing way too many videos of people with zero knowledge or Simulator experience flipping over to manual mode on their brand new Avata 2 and thinking its okay because they are only hurting their wallets by crashing it into the ground over and over. If it does something unexpected you need to be able to react quickly and safely.
Thank for a great tutorial!❤
